Yo, if anyone’s hunting for the cheapest drinks around (St. Louis, Memphis, or Indy), hit me up in the DMs for the hookup. Their beer is like $0.80 cheaper—and other drinks are way lower by 1 to $0.67 compared to places like Applebee's or Chili's. Not an ad or anything, we just really dig this guy.

Mark Flores47 said:You’ll have plenty of spots for photos; I think VK is gorgeous. We’re planning to hit up a bit of everything there—hanging out in VK, checking out Kunjevac, maybe grabbing some food too. In VK, we’ll probably head down to that park near the high schools first, then hit the museum downtown, stroll along the main strip, and walk by the Mississippi River...

I feel you, but if I wanted something truly "wow" 😍 over in Lenije? Honestly, looking at those tiny spots doesn't really do it for me 😉 though the Mississippi River definitely has options. Are you thinking about doing the shoot on the wedding day? I'd love to do it then, but fitting it all in might be a struggle... I'll try to make it work. I'm not actually from Memphis, just from the outskirts, but I went to school there so I know the area pretty well 🙂 Where are you thinking of going for hair? Sorry if I'm grilling you too much 😁 🙂

I'm also from near VK, and we're doing the shoot on the wedding day. Once the guests are busy eating and drinking at my place, we'll head over to my hometown for photos because it’s pretty cute too. Then, on the way from the wedding to the reception hall, we might swing by Kunjevac—if it rains, the indoor vibe there is great—or hit up VK if the weather holds up. My cousin is doing my hair; she’s a pro and everyone around here knows her for being both talented and affordable. She’s basically the family stylist at this point. She'll show up at my place at 6 AM to fix the bride, mom, maid of honor, sisters—basically anyone who wants to look good—and then head home. Later that night, she'll be at the venue since she's family. 🙂

I’m thinking maybe by next year—we'll start hitting up some spots after Easter... but honestly, the admiral 🙂 hall looks pretty killer on its own, so I don't think I'll need much else... plus, I'll need guest rooms... it's not even that pricey, probably around 4 bucks easy... thanks for the heads up 😍

Then you'll actually have some decent scenery for photos. Personally, I think VK is gorgeous. We're heading there too—hitting up a bit of VK, then Kunjevac, and hanging out near the hall. In VK, we're hitting that park by the high schools first, then the museum downtown, a stroll through the main strip, and a walk along the Mississippi River...

Anyone know a girl who rented a wedding venue in Canada? Like maybe near Omaha or Bridgeport? What’s the vibe like and how much are we talking? I pass by this salon in Omaha all the time—but honestly, am I just gonna get stuck dealing with customs if I go through with her?

Does anyone have any creative ideas for thank-you gifts? I’m looking for something meaningful, because honestly, the usual stuff just won't cut it. I'm definitely not thinking about photos (ugh, please no), little angels, candy, candles, or magnets. That's all just so cliché... help me out!

Mark Flores47 said:Hey, since you guys were talking about where to go for photos... I’d love some suggestions for the Memphis area. I used to take shots near the memorial cross, but honestly, it’s getting a bit played out. :/ I'm open to anything. 🙂 Also, has anyone heard about that Marma lighting company from Indianapolis? I was scrolling through some photos on Facebook and now I'm curious about their pricing... thanks!

I actually know people from Marma personally. They used to be $1167, but I've heard lately they're more available—though it really just depends on what you need.
If you've got the time, swing by Indianapolis; there are some killer spots for photos there.
Which venue is the wedding at?

Look, like I already said—Nicole is hands down my go-to, and her prices are unbeatable. Her notary service is $833 plus I always score some extra baskets for rosemary and other bits along with it.

Kevin Smith7 said:Does anyone happen to know where I can find some wedding dresses that are both affordable and high quality?

Which bridal boutiques are actually worth visiting? My wedding is only three months away and I haven't even had a chance to try on a single dress yet!

Thanks so much for all the help!

I feel the exact same way about Nicole's over in Indianapolis. I don't know where you're based, but honestly—the girls at most Nicole's locations are amazing. Seriously—I walked into the Indianapolis spot feeling totally insecure and, well, a bit chubby—just not feeling myself at all—and I walked out absolutely beaming because the lady there was such a sweetheart and found me the perfect dress. You won't regret it!!

Where can I find those specific candies in Indianapolis or Columbus? We’re planning to wrap them in chocolate and tie them off with silk ribbons for some thank-you favors.

Found a band for 1100 bucks—including the backup players. These guys are killer!! Such a bummer I already put down a deposit on my other musicians though. If anyone’s interested, I’ve got the info and their number right here. They’re out of Indianapolis.

Kevin Smith7 said:Hello everyone,

I was just walking through the mall, checking out some different types of rings and bands. There are so many options available everywhere.

Simple bands start at about $0.25, and going up from there. So, the most basic ones are around $0.90. That's quite affordable. There really is a huge variety to choose from. Depending on how much you buy, they might even drop the price a bit.

They have medium-sized rings. 1.2 miles They come in packs of ten.
P.S. I was also looking at wedding bands over in Indianapolis, and they have some truly stunning pieces starting from $833. The prices are just as great!

Thanks for the heads up. As for wedding bands—if anyone's interested, head over to Orašje. We paid way too much for our yellow gold sets back home $733. Our jeweler was such a legend though—he actually met us at the shop on a Sunday at 8 PM just to hand them over since neither of us could make it during normal hours because of work. If anyone wants to know which jeweler he is, just shoot me a DM.

Man, what a joke. My neighbor got ripped off on the band and lighting setup—charged a cool 9 $0.00. Honestly? Not even that crazy considering most bands pull at least $1,300, so they actually came out under $1,000 here. I guess some people actually get paid for once—too bad most people just hustle you instead.

Just thought of something else—if anyone’s actually looking for ideas. The wedding lighting from Jarmina over at VK- Marma light is super affordable, and since the guy also runs the Valentino band, you can probably snag a deal if you book both together. As far as the band goes, they're solid—more of a modern party vibe, but they can play pretty much anything. They actually played my cousin's wedding recently. P.S. Not an ad or anything, I just noticed nobody ever mentions them on here, and honestly? They’re good. Plus, they have a singer and some videos on YouTube.

dustytinker58 said:I’ll try to track down some info elsewhere... but I’m also wondering, has anyone here picked up fabric for dresses at the mall lately? I need about 10 yards, so I'm curious—is it actually worth the trip?

My neighbor grabbed some killer fabric for her groomsmen's suits at a market in a Small town, USA—saved her like 30% compared to those mall prices. So, if you've got the patience and the time, maybe swing by that small town on a Thursday? There's this one guy there who specializes in all kinds of textiles.

quietcobra52 said:Ladies, where can I even find those tablecloths—and what the hell are they actually called? (I honestly have zero clue lol). They’re like these long, floor-length cloths that drape all the way down the sides so you can't see the legs—kind of like curtains? I need them for a buffet setup I'm running, but I don't even know what search terms to use to find them. I'm thinking about grabbing something similar for some high-top cocktail tables near the entrance, too. Any ideas?

Found exactly what I was looking for!!!

Kevin Smith7 said:We were planning on picking up John's photos from Ivankov! We had heard he had an excellent collection of DVDs and prints. But now, I'm reading here on the forum that they aren't actually any good!

Well, look at that!🙂

Don't bother with him, trust me—they used to be solid, but with this new lineup? Total wash. I’ve seen it firsthand.

Kevin Smith7 said:quietcobra52- which band did you guys hire for 1000 bucks including the backing group?

Does anyone know a really good makeup artist around the Columbus area who does house calls?

Check out Grega Band from the Midwest! It's just the four of them, but they're solid—classic wedding vibes. They've got a page on Facebook if you want to look them up.

Ethan Cox5 said:quietcobra52- what exactly do you guys have in those $1333? Just one photographer and one videographer?

It goes like this:
- You get one videographer and one photographer
- basically, the price covers filming the whole wedding plus all the editing
- 5 sets of DVDs
- professionally edited photos of the whole wedding party (around 500 shots)
- a CD with the raw photos
- 3 prints, 8x12 inches (you pick the pics)
- photo albums
- 3 pillows featuring the newlyweds (your choice of images)
- if you want, they can come shoot a little "prequel" video a few days before
- you also get the original footage from the camera (just in case you ever need it)
- thank-you cards cost extra, though you can order invitations through them too—they're actually pretty cheap there

Ethan Cox5 said:Honestly, finding a decent camera for under a thousand bucks is basically impossible, and even if you do find one, you have to wonder if it’s actually any good... Mine set me back almost eleven grand!! 😳 But hey, whatever... that's just the category where I refuse to cut corners...
And don't even get me started on photographers... man, the prices people are asking these days... I haven't even put a deposit down on anyone yet... They are just way too expensive for me right now... 😁

My band goes for about $1,000 a day including the backing tracks. Basically, they do accordion and folk instruments during the day, then switch it up to keys, drums, and guitar for the evening sets—hehe... plus they're actually really good and can play just about anything. Since I'm a bit of a mixed bag myself—as is my sweetie—we needed musicians who could handle a huge variety of genres. Honestly, every other group I called was asking $1,300-$1,600 without any backup at all... absolutely insane!!!
