Aspartame is this multi-layered carcinogenic chemical mess used everywhere as an artificial sweetener. People have been flagging its health risks for over 20 years, and now some study by Dr. Morand Soffritti just hammered it home.
It’s in basically everything—sodas, gum, fruit yogurts, even baby food...

It's essentially a neurotoxic poison masquerading as something sweet.
This isn't some joke. Start actually reading the labels on what you're buying.
They greenlit Aspartame decades ago as a "fix" for the overweight American population, pitching it as a sugar substitute that won't pack on the pounds. But big food lobbies won't let them ban it because there's too much money in "light," "sugar-free," and all those other fake labels.
Paul Morales3 said:Reading through all that is just exhausting. I’d much rather have a straightforward list of groceries that are packed with those nasty additives.
Does anyone happen to have a resource like that handy?

Wouldn't it be way easier to just list what's safe instead of what isn't? Everything's in there—especially those dangerous artificial sweeteners, plus all the fake colors and preservatives.
Anyone got a lead on a tool to decode those random E-numbers, like E129, E466, whatever?
Found some old software on a dusty CD back in the day that did exactly this, but now I can't find it for the life of me.
Does anyone actually know the name of a decent program that deciphers this stuff?

Made it back in one piece. No major disasters, though I did cut my Linux dose down to 3x1 instead of 3x2 before and during the trip. No coffee, no gum, but still had to stick to the Linux. Threw in 100g of 80% dark chocolate on top of that too.

Emily Campbell4 said:Trust me, you might think you’re chill before a trip, but your body knows better. Since you aren't exactly a coffee addict, it’s no surprise your gut reacts instantly. My sister quit coffee entirely, and then she had one sip after a few months and—boom—straight to the bathroom. 😍Second, gum acts like a laxative, especially if you chew it forever. Third, I get the same way whenever life gets stressful, so I skip the chamomile tea because even though it settles the stomach, it still makes things move, you know? Instead, I snack on dark chocolate—only the bitter stuff, since the sweet kind is too much for me. If anything else doesn't do it, the dark chocolate definitely will. Anyway, sorry for the rant, hope this helps.😉

Thanks for the deep dive.
Starting today, no more coffee and no more gum. I'm heading out tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes.
I only eat dark chocolate anyway, so I'll just up my intake. 🙂

Abstinence!?
Cut out booze, coffee, sex... then what's the point of living?
It’s not easy to just quit cold turkey.
"Drink a little—but drink right," some old beer commercial used to say back in the day. I think you just need to cut down on the stuff that messes with you. From what I gather, you're into beer and wine. Both can be fine, especially red wine. But those cheap wines? They're loaded with sulfites to stop them from spoiling, and that's exactly what gives you a massive headache. If you're gonna drink, maybe try something clear and hard instead—like a vodka soda or a vodka tonic with some juice. Just don't overdo it.🙂 🙂

Look, it’s true—every single time I hop on a bus for a trip longer than sixty miles, I end up grabbing a coffee I’d normally never touch and chewing gum. I only ever use milk if I'm having a cappuccino. I tried taking some Linux after getting some advice, and things were fine for maybe two days, but then? Back to square one.

Thanks everyone, and thanks to you too, Betty Nelson4👍

I clear everything out, every single time, but it doesn't even last—maybe a minute tops before it starts up again. I’ll try some activated charcoal, maybe some Linex too, and just see what happens.
Thanks for the tips, Walter Myers4, Susan Gonzalez4...
Hopefully this actually works for once.

If not, I'll be back.

Not gonna lie, I'm feeling pretty worked up, even if I don't usually get rattled like this.

So, anyone else here stuck heading West every single day? Or maybe even twice a day if you're lucky?

So, what if we just met up and grabbed a drink?😉

Look

The main thing is just don't lie to yourself, okay?
I get that saying "no" when everyone else is doing it is brutal, but honestly, it’s worth the effort.👍

it's probably just the adrenaline talking.

breathing exercises would help too, I guess.

😕 Something?
Never touched anything to calm down, so who knows, right?😕 .

😕 Every single time I hit the road, especially on a Greyhound bus, my stomach absolutely loses it. It starts bloating, gurgling, and then—boom—I’m sprinting for the restroom. Usually, I deal with loose stools maybe once or twice a day anyway, so this just makes everything a nightmare. Sometimes I barely make it to the stall, and sometimes... well, you know.
Look, I’m pretty popular with women😘, but it’s a total disaster when I’m actually out on a date and suddenly need to evacuate my bowels, even though there's nothing even in there to begin with.
I know, I know—super fun topic, right? But I'm at a loss. I travel constantly for work, which just turns this into a massive headache.
Just to be clear, I never get motion sickness—no dizziness, no puking—not even when I'm hanging out at the beach.
Is there some kind of supplement or specific food that can actually dial this down?
Anyone else dealing with this crap?😕

WHEN DOES THIS END? WHEN DO I ACTUALLY START LIVING A REAL LIFE? I mean, constant drinking and being wasted every single day...👍

A buddy of mine asked an older guy this exact thing, and honestly, it’s what I’m wondering too. His answer? Probably forever, or whenever you feel like stopping.

Rebecca Thomas said:blood work came back totally fine... everything was normal... went to the eye doctor too... just for a quick head check... so yeah, all good...😲

It’s not about your blood, it's your liver. Sure, you might have twenty ounces of liquid in you, but how many weekends did you roll in drunk? It’s not about the amount you drink, it’s about how often you get wasted. Those are textbook symptoms of an addiction. You're young, but... maybe it's time to quit entirely, or...

No "Alkić" ever admits it. Maybe you aren't there yet, but you're definitely on the fast track.

What's the fastest way to drop weight? in Health ·
Don't rush it
Just cut back on the portions a bit. Stop grabbing seconds or just skip dessert. Swap out white bread for whole grain. Hit the gym and the weight will drop. That's how you actually fix your weight for good, right?👍
Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis in Health ·
👎 I'm 48, but honestly? I live like I'm 33. Been dealing with lower back issues for a year now, and lately, my hips have started acting up too. Was playing tennis and my back flared again, but then the doctor checks me out and tells me it's actually coxarthrosis—hip arthritis. All they gave me was physical therapy, which was basically useless. So, I started rotating between FLEX-A-MIN COMPLEX and GLUKOZAMIN FORTE for about 10 months. It actually calmed things down, though I still feel the hits in my back and hips after sports. Is it the PT or the supplements? Who knows.
Anyone else dealing with this crap? Any actual meds that actually work?
