Hey,

Has anyone actually tried using shiitake mushrooms as some kind of support for cancer treatment?

There's breast cancer in my family, and I heard about this Dr. Jakopović guy who supposedly uses mushroom therapy, and that it’s okay.

I’d really love to hear from people who have actually gone through this firsthand if there are any, just before we decide on this route, especially since one round of treatment costs about $1167 and you need several of them....

Thanks for the replies.

I know I sounded a bit clumsy when I said "what can you even do about it." Obviously, my mom already scheduled everything—the ultrasound and all the other appointments she needs to make.

She’s being totally chill about the whole thing, but I don't think she's showing me how much she's actually doing. Maybe it's because I'm so far along in this pregnancy (nearly 8 months in), so she probably doesn't want me stressing out, but I'll admit, I kind of panicked.

I guess I just really needed to hear some comforting words...🤷

So, this is about my mom. She went in for a mammogram through one of those community screening programs. Her results were mailed straight to the house yesterday—only five days after the appointment. I just knew something was wrong the second they sent them out that fast, and once I opened the envelope... I've been in total shock since.

I don't have the actual report right here, but I know that on the first two lines—where it gives options like probably benign, inconclusive, or suspicious—hers says suspicious for both.

It also mentions pathogenic calcifications and a mass in her right breast. It says "refer to surgery."
I honestly can't wrap my head around this. I have no clue what to do or what I should even tell her.

Does this definitely mean it's malignant? Like, does it mean cancer?

The last time she had an exam was back at the end of January 2007, and there have always been some cysts in that right breast, but nothing ever turned out to be anything bad. They've been monitoring it since 1998, though mostly through ultrasounds and biopsies rather than mammograms, and everything has been fine until now. She didn't feel any changes or any pain in that breast, but now, ever since the mammogram, she's actually having pain in her right side.

Is it smart to go back and get another mammogram? I mean, maybe they were just swamped and messed up the images 😢 ...I don't know...

What should we do?
Exactly! THANKS SO MUCH 🙏
I'm guessing it was just a file size thing, since mine was like 7kb and this one is only 3kb. I guess maybe that was the issue, or maybe it was something else entirely???
Hey everyone! So, I'm running into the exact same issue as you guys.🤷
I've been messing around for three hours now trying to resize this photo so I can finally upload it as my forum avatar (gotta look good for the ladies, right?). I managed to shrink the file using Adobe Photoshop, but for some reason, once I upload it, the animation just dies. It works perfectly fine when I open it on my PC, though... so I don't get it. Anyone have any clue what's going on? Here's the resized image I'm talking about!
I’ve heard about that diet before. My neighbor actually tried something pretty similar—same basic idea—after her doctor recommended it. From what I know, you just rotate stuff: one day it’s just yogurt, the next it’s eggs, then meat and veggies, then potatoes, and one day it's just apples.

Except in this version, they don't just switch things up every three weeks; they're constantly rotating the whole thing. So, I guess it's even more intense, but maybe it works.

Honestly, the one you posted doesn't even look that bad to me... I mean, people can do anything if they really want to. 👍
Hey everyone 🙂 ,

I'll try to keep this quick. So, basically... back in 2003, I had this massive health "episode." All my joints just locked up out of nowhere—mostly my hands, fingers, and then my ankles. Even the simplest little things felt impossible, like just turning a key in a lock, it was a total nightmare 😁 .

They ran every test under the sun for autoimmune stuff, from MS to lupus, before finally landing on a "suspected" case of sarcoidosis. It wasn't even a definitive diagnosis because my levels were just barely hitting the threshold...

I was put on some corticosteroids as a trial, and they actually worked pretty well; eventually, things started looking up. After a few months, the pain just vanished...

Since then, I've been seeing Dr. Sentić every six months for checkups. I was just there in August, and they did more bloodwork for all sorts of things, and everything came back totally fine (thank god).

But, there's always a "but." I'm five months pregnant now, and about a week ago, the joint pain started creeping back in, mostly in my hands. My fingers feel almost completely stiff in the mornings.
I don't really know what to do. I feel stupid calling the doctor again since my labs were perfect just last month, so I guess maybe something is brewing in my system, though you'd think it would show up on the tests by now...

I'm kind of panicking here... it's not nearly as intense as when I first got sick, but still... I'm worried.

I don't know if this is just normal because of all the body changes during pregnancy, or if everything is about to get complicated again...

Has anyone else dealt with this? Any experiences?

Thanks in advance for any help....😘
