The patient is 20 years old. I'm looking for an opinion from anyone who actually understands this stuff. Thanks in advance.

Listen, honey, these results are absolutely fantastic!!!!
Everything is perfectly within the normal range.
Postpartum dizziness: Anyone else dealing with this? in Women's Health ·
Hey, what’s the deal with your cervical spine?
Are you dealing with any actual headaches? Like, the kind that hit you so hard you feel like you're about to throw up?
I honestly have no clue why this thread ended up in the health section either... though I suppose the moderators are clearly more enlightened than the rest of us combined..
bluewalker33—since you’ve been living under a rock lately, let me fill you in: my cousin is deaf-mute, and just like that, he possesses some other sense that's dialed way up to eleven...
for instance, a car could be barreling down the street, and even if he can't hear a thing, he’ll feel the vibration of its approach from half a mile away without even glancing in its direction...

The Earth is constantly in motion, vibrating beneath our feet, so it's perfectly logical that you’d have some heightened sensory perception...it’s really nothing to get worked up about....
Lump on my back..? in Health ·
My husband has been dealing with this for years now, and honestly, it’s visible to anyone just glancing his way... I’m fairly certain it’s some kind of rogue sebaceous gland or something similar.
Anthony Garcia12 said:I'm 6'5", 198 lbs, not overweight by any stretch, but for two years now—ever since I started monitoring my bloodwork—my levels have been elevated, though they've never hit this high before. Honestly, it caught me completely off guard. I guess from here on out, I’ll need to be much more disciplined about my diet and cut back on the drinking. I'll see where things stand at my next checkup in six months. This was a real shock to the system.

Hey... well, you certainly are a stunner... hehe
You definitely need to watch your intake, without a doubt... so, what do the rest of your parameters look like?
Anthony Garcia12 said:25 g, cholesterol 8 (3.5-5.2), LDL 5.18 (high risk >4.90), triglycerides 2.49 (elevated >2.28)

I hadn't eaten anything for 12 hours before the draw, so there’s no way these numbers are spiked from a recent meal. What I really want to know is—aside from the obvious need to overhaul my lifestyle—should I be heading in for a color Doppler ultrasound of my arteries? To be honest, I'm a bit spooked that all this junk might have already started piling up in my vessels like sludge in an old pipe.🤷

Look, that kind of buildup doesn't happen overnight; we're talking about years of accumulation, not some sudden flash flood...
how tall and heavy are you?

Hey there,
Does anyone know how I can delete an image I uploaded to this thread using the photo tool?

Thanks in advance!
Average platelet volume—this essentially gives you a window into the actual size of your platelets

Look, honey, you’re as healthy as a horse.
swiftraven15 said:Nothing, they basically said there’s zero reason to panic since every other metric falls perfectly within the standard range, so there shouldn't be any need for concerning follow-ups or adjustments.

Oh, I am just absolutely thrilled about that...😉>
Coughing up blood: what should I do? in Health ·
hiddenhawk88 said:Sometimes when I first wake up, I feel this need to clear out some mucus that builds up in my throat, though it’s always just a tiny amount and pretty clear and thin. But this morning was a bit different—I had to basically "snort" some drainage from my nose down through my throat just to cough it out, and I noticed some pretty noticeable streaks of blood mixed in there. How much should I actually be worrying about this?

My throat isn't hurting and I don't have a fever, but it feels like I've been producing way more phlegm since this morning started. I actually had my tonsils and adenoids taken out back when I was a kid. I recently went in for a full blood panel and everything came back totally normal. I tend to catch every little bug or cold that goes around, but I'm feeling fine otherwise. I'm 28 years old.

It isn't anything to panic over... You probably just had a minor nosebleed or irritated the lining of your nose while you were sniffing everything back.🙂
swiftraven15 said:Well, I’m actually heading to the doctor right this second. To be honest, I haven't really been feeling any major issues, and I haven't given it much thought until now. Since I'm only 22, the doctor basically assumed there was absolutely no reason to worry.

Alright then... please, for my sake, let me know what the doctor tells you.
I need to know!🙂
swiftraven15 said:It's just my routine checkup. Since I deal with high blood pressure, I get my blood drawn every year... and I should mention that these abnormal values have been showing up for three years straight now; they're always consistently elevated.

So, what’s the doctor saying about all this?
I don't quite grasp how these numbers can stay stuck in the exact same pattern like that.
swiftraven15 said:I could really use a little help deciphering these blood test results... everything seems to be sitting right within the normal ranges except for a few outliers: neutrophil granulocytes at 31.9 (ref. range 44-72), lymphocytes at 60.3 (ref. range 20-40), and again, lymphocytes at 4.0 (ref. range 1.19-3.35)... thanks for any insight if anyone knows what this might be pointing toward

What was the actual reason you had the blood drawn in the first place?
velvetraven44 said:I’m 37 years old, standing 6'5", and carrying a bit too little weight on my frame. 😁 I don't have a fever and I feel perfectly fine, honestly. It was just that my wrists were swollen about two weeks ago, so I went in for some testing, and well, this is what they found. Based on your experience, do you think this is something that will clear up with a course or maybe two of antibiotics, or is this going to drag on for a while?

They absolutely have to pinpoint the root cause of this edema first—they can't just treat the symptom without knowing what's driving the fluid retention. Right now, everything is up in the air, and frankly, it's frustratingly vague. Once you actually sit down with the nephrologist, shoot me a private message and let me know what they say.
🙂
You're still just a kid, honestly—you won't get anywhere in this life without a hammer in your hand.🙄
velvetraven44 said:Well, urination isn't painful at the moment,🙂 but what I’m telling you is that both sides of my back are killing me—I honestly thought I was just dealing with some old age rheumatism😁 when it turns out it might be the kidneys. Do you have any actual, intelligent advice beyond the fact that I've already booked an appointment with a nephrologist, am chugging water like a fish, drinking cranberry tea, and snacking on dried cranberries?

Nothing right now... if you don't mind me asking, what's your hemoglobin level?
Just lie down and rest... are you running a fever?
Ryan Wright7 said:Sophia Moore38, I really appreciate that, though honestly, I had already suspected as much myself. 🙂

Don't mention it. Seriously, if you end up getting those iron supplements, you absolutely have to take them alongside some Vitamin C—think of it like trying to start a car with a dead battery; without that extra kick, you're just spinning your wheels. And please, for heaven's sake, load up on vegetables and fruit. Just eat what a parent would feed a healthy baby—you'll know it when you see it, because that’s the kind of fuel that actually keeps the engine running properly.🙄
Ryan Wright7 said:PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND THESE RESULTS:

MCV 66.5 (83-97.2)
MCH 22 (27.4-33.9)
Hematocrit 0.330 (0.356-0.470)
Hb 109 (119-157)

Thanks!!!

Look, you've got anemia...
velvetraven44 said:Honestly, I frequently deal with this sensation of just never quite finishing properly—it’s more like these short, unsatisfying bursts. It doesn't necessarily ruin my night, and I'm not being forced into an emergency situation where I have to sprint to the bathroom immediately, either.

I suspect you might be dealing with kidney issues here—frequent urination, discomfort... tell me, are you experiencing any pain on both sides of your lower back, just above the glutes?
Haha... I just checked mine, and honestly, I’m seeing the exact same thing—it's definitely smaller than expected.
Emily Williams72 said:I’ve noticed this tiny little bump popping up on the bottom right side of my mouth, just a couple of centimeters past my very last molar.
It isn't a constant thing, because in the past, it has tended to show up and then quite simply vanish after a few hours or perhaps by the following day, usually having disappeared entirely overnight.
It doesn't happen with any sort of regularity, appearing maybe once a year or even less frequently, and it always, invariably, goes away on its own.
The color is perfectly consistent with the rest of my gum tissue, and there is absolutely no pain associated with it.

I can't help but wonder if this might just be some sort of gland that occasionally becomes slightly swollen, which would mean it's nothing to worry about since it disappears so quickly and doesn't cause me any discomfort.

I have that exact same thing happening; it isn't some pus-filled blister, but more like a little patch of raw, fleshy tissue...
Mine has been sitting there for months now...
Honestly, I don't think it's anything serious...🙂
