bluecyclist64 said:To be honest, I couldn't care less about spirits, even if they were holy. Swearing is just a facet of culture; in and of itself, it isn't inherently uncivilized. At the end of the day, you can use a curse word to express genuine awe, whereas someone using "polite" language can be just as insulting as any sailor.
Swearing has become so normalized in today's society that it feels like we can't function without it. But let's be real: being vulgar just makes us look ignorant and crude, no matter how "edgy" people think it is 🙄.
In my view, it all comes down to habit, how you were raised, and the crowd you hang out with. I also believe we have total control over it if we actually care about the impression we leave on others.
Personally, I used to swear constantly. Eventually, I decided to change and went a long time without uttering a single curse word. But then life happened—I found myself in a situation where I had to adapt to an environment where everyone was swearing, so I loosened up again.
The bottom line? It’s controllable.
You don't have to be stiff or uptight, but you can definitely dial it back so you don't come across as a total lowlife.
As for suppressing emotions or how we express them, I don't see what swearing has to do with that. Aside from the fact that when someone really gets under my skin, I'd love to tell them exactly where they can shove it? There's always another way. Sometimes, it's better to be decent than a savage.
Look, if you want to become a moderator, you basically have to be the perfect user first. After that? Well, then you can act like the absolute last brainless hillbilly on the planet—just throwing out bans instead of actual arguments and permabanning anyone who dares to disagree with you. It’s why so many insecure losers and general idiots constantly crave that mod position. But let's be real—only a tiny handful actually end up staying in it. Hey, shoutout to the small handful of people here who might actually be smart enough to recognize themselves. 😁
Damn it.🤣
Are they really that bad?😲
Jokes aside. It drives me crazy seeing certain morons harassing everyone else on the site (here in the US, or still on LjES) with their constant outbursts without getting a single permaban. Meanwhile, someone else gets nuked permanently just for using slightly sharper rhetoric over on Politics. You can't even compare the two. The guy who got banned on Politics actually writes quality, coherent posts, while this absolute bottom-feeder just harasses everyone with his personal drama. And yet, he's still here, unbanned. It's disgusting.
Totally unfair. A total failure on Reddit's part. 🤷
steelskipper5 said:Honestly, plenty of mods just give up on it. It’s not exactly a thankless job—well, actually, it's incredibly thankless, and the pay? Non-existent.
Personally, I think being a regular user is way better than being a mod. As a mod, you're supposed to be this objective pillar of truth—you have to slog through threads you couldn't care less about just to make sure nobody's causing chaos, all while maintaining this perfect, saintly behavior... As a regular user? You don't have to deal with any of that. Sure, you might get banned here and there if you push things too far, but it's usually just a couple of days before you're back to your old tricks. Plus, you can just flirt with the relatives of whoever banned you. Or maybe just hang out with Mexicans if that's more your speed.
Power is intoxicating. At least, that's how it looks to everyone at the bottom of the ladder. But once you realize there's always someone above you—once you're getting squeezed from both sides—it stops looking like such a sweet gig[1].
[1] Well, maybe for you since you're a woman, I don't know.
What kind of government are we even talking about? 🤣
As for sex? As long as everyone's having a good time, who cares? 😍
briskbison41 said:uff, you’d be surprised how many European forums—or even over here in the US 🤔—actually charge for moderation, and they don't play around with the amounts 😁 . I can't think of a specific name right now, but a buddy mentioned a colleague of his actually works (literally has a job) as a forum mod making about $1,800 a month 😁. The only exceptions are places where you pay a membership fee of maybe $10 a month, provided you stay active at least seven hours a day 😁 .
Man, we're all just hanging out here for more than 7 hours a day now. Is this really what we've become? 😳
And you seriously don't know the name of a single decent forum like that? 😢 Get lost, JoWo. 😁
I mean, if those "painted" people have to color everything, why bother coloring the letters? What's the point? 😕
just because I'm a narcissistic, slimy cynic, I guess.
and your post is off topic (though, fair enough, mine probably is too)
--those "painted" folks don't need to color their posts, where on earth did you get that idea?
If you're trying to be a narcissist, I see it. You're acting greasy, and honestly? You've become irritating. 😁
They don't need to edit posts, take action, or even hang around the forum. The only thing they actually have to do is die. 🙄 Issa, I'm talking about established practice here.
Unlike a bunch of amateurs, my off topic posts are actually interesting. 🙂
Generally speaking, using a second color is pointless to me. But when that second color is some nauseating yellowish-orange, then it’s just irritating. Red is 😱
I guess those people who need everything color-coded also feel the urge to paint over the letters themselves, but why bother? 😕
Look, why not be a moderator? If you're already active on the forum and actually contributing something useful, why wouldn't you take the role? 😉
And seriously, why all the drama? 🤷
The whole "virtual hierarchy" and "fake status" thing... it's just the wrong way to look at an online community.
To me, a forum should be about entertainment and staying informed. Even if you have an official role, it’s still supposed to be fun. Because if it isn't, what's the point of being here? 🤷
To answer the question: someone who genuinely wants to moderate will follow the rules and still find ways to enjoy themselves.
But if someone is looking for a different kind of "fun," they'll end up getting kartoniran and banned. 🤣
This skin is basically what makes this site work. The real question is how the users would react to such a massive shift. Sometimes it’s better to leave well enough alone.
Honestly, this forum doesn't need anything except for some better servers.
The current skin works because it’s easy on the eyes, and that matters.
Sure, we can polish things up, but let's keep the core structure the same.
If the owner decides to upgrade to a newer version of vBulletin, I doubt anyone will actually care.😁
I think I’ve finally sorted things out with AdBlock. I actually got my avatars and emojis back too. 🙏
The ads are gone. The only thing left is that "Marketing" tab in the top right corner, but it's totally empty.
The catch? I messed with these settings once before, and after tweaking other stuff, everything just reverted back to how it was.
I’ve installed so many different things over the last few days that my head is honestly spinning. 😵
Anyway, thanks a million for the help, but I can only hang out on the forum for a second. I’ve gotta run, so I don't have time to dive deeper into ad settings right now. Seriously, thank you. 😍 I really have to go. 😁
Edit: Oh, and the hole is gone. 🙏 😬 Now, the real question is: how long until something else breaks again? 🤷
You know what? At one point, I went a little overboard and blocked absolutely everything! From user avatars right down to the emojis 😢
Even the Reddit icon vanished. Everything was gone!
How am I supposed to kill the ads without nuking the user avatars, the emojis, or the site icons?
And even after I thought I’d wiped everything out, there was this one stubborn ad at the top that just wouldn't budge 🙏
Edit: Finally got rid of it. I also brought back the avatars and emojis, which—for some bizarre reason—don't work when I click them now. I have to type them out manually. 😠 Even the text editor is acting up. Seriously?
steelskipper5 said:Why not just patch that hole on the right side? Toss in AdBlock Plus Element Hiding Helper too, and you can wipe out that entire section of the page that’s just wasting space for no reason. ☕
I’ve got AdBlock running, the latest version of Mozilla, and yet there's still a massive hole in my screen. 😁
How do I get rid of this gap? And what even is it? Element Hiding Helper? 😬
And Vajluša is right. What a mess. What a headache. I've been installing all sorts of little programs and add-ons for days now, but I still can't get rid of those banners at the top or the weird gaps on my screen whenever I load the Reddit homepage. What am I even doing wrong?
Poor thing. She’s constantly getting banned. Maybe they just felt bad for her? The girl genuinely has issues. 🙂
But let's be real: she used to be a forum favorite. Now? Everyone is just fed up. People can be ruthless. Instead of telling her to get it together, they just sit back and enjoy her antics—which, by the way, can be pretty tasteless. 😢
The truth is also that when she gets a warning, the people who jump on her bandwagon and join the trolling don't face any consequences.
Though, sometimes I wonder if she isn't actually trolling at all. Is she just... a little eccentric? 😢
Don't be cruel. Besides, the thread is locked. I wouldn't have the heart to ban them over this specific topic. 🙂
Don't go sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong or trying to troll me! 😉
Topic on the forums.
The posts that earned me my badges:
Donna Wood52 said:An abortion hurts like hell if you're only under local anesthesia. It’s basically a curettage—they're essentially scraping out the uterus. Why would anyone think that's manageable? I heard some women saying that it actually hurts more than giving birth if you aren't under general anesthesia. Is that really true?
Donna Wood52 said:Terrible. It’s like watching a pack of wolves huddling together. And there she is, lying there with her legs spread, in absolute agony. I know they have to... but man, it’s tough. 😕
I feel for any woman who has to go through that. 😢 My mom had the same procedure done. She was under general anesthesia, so she didn't feel a thing.
Other users have posted similar things here. But it still boils me up that you insist on being so difficult whenever these topics come up.
Sorry, but that’s just how it is.
As for the users and the mods? Ha! This is a massive forum. You're going to find just about everything in here. 🙂
You might want to rethink how you carry yourself on this forum. I don't think you're trolling. Honestly? I think you actually have issues. 😢 Real problems. 😢
Between your posts and your topics, I honestly don't know what to say anymore. 😲
Does it ever cross your mind that you might actually be scaring us? Or just grossing us out? You finish a decent meal, sit down at the computer to see what's happening, and then there's Melody and her backside. 😢
You really overdid it with those photos of your rear end.
And don't even get me started on the pictures you post on the lifestyle forums to show off your "erotic" side. You've made life miserable. 🙂
🙂
But it isn't just that. It's the stuff you wrote in the women's section. That bit about getting a Pap smear at the gynecologist. 😱 For heaven's sake, what is wrong with you?
hollowtrucker77 Asks: Let's take it slow.: You open up? Just a random topic. So, you don't like the smiley? Why is that? You’re gonna get banned for starting such a pointless thread. Which part stays here? Unclear?
Sorry, but what’s the point of this thread? Since when does anyone care if someone doesn't like a stupid smiley face? This is it. Right? 🤷
Can someone please walk me through this? I’m completely lost.
😕
Note: Looks like the author’s been banned. 🙏 Even though he’s constantly sucking up to you people. 🤣 But the thread is still live.🤷 I can't believe he got banned just because of her.
This topic is absolutely pointless. It couldn't be any more trivial if it tried. 😁
Aside from us having a little fun at the author's expense. 😬
James Chavez91 said:Cool, but where am I supposed to put it?
Maybe via the avatar 😁 like how people put a black ribbon on a profile picture when someone passes away. Then, once you die as a regular user and become a mod, Almighty will slap the right tag on you 🙏 based on your rank. 😬
Looking at it again, these proposed tags are total garbage. 😁
