Steven Ruiz said:I honestly have no clue why you ended up with 100 points since I can't see into the backend, but let's be real, not every violation is created equal.
It's like if I'm grading my students' PDFs; I'm certainly not going to give the same failing grade to someone who sends a mother back to her hometown as I would to someone just hitting the caps lock key. One thing is much more serious than the other.
My ban actually would have been extended if it hadn't been lifted, and it wasn't just me getting an amnesty, but that third person was also given a break...
And regarding the whole business of posting a private message (though, frankly, I'm not sure what was "private" about someone insulting me, other than their own lack of manners), everything has already been addressed, the penalties were handed out, and the rule is clearly stated.
Even moderators make mistakes sometimes, and we all learn from them...
So I'll ask one more time, what is the actual problem here? Because from where I'm sitting, I just don't see one...

Daniel Ward87 said:🙄 Come on, don't be a hypocrite... How many times have you broken the Lions Club rules without getting slapped with an instant three-day ban? Nobody is disputing what we did, but when the moderators mess up, there should be an immediate 3-day ban—no questions asked. When "regular" users screw up, well, that's where the debate starts.

Nicholas King said:The real issue—if we’re being honest—is that this whole situation has been handled poorly. Just... incredibly poorly. Right from the jump.
First off, there was this universal defense of the Prime Minister's right to post.
Then, out of nowhere, a wave of bans just hits—and suspiciously, they all seem to come in one big package.
After that, people were chatting away about the "banned" users for two straight days.
Then, predictably, a whopping 30 points were handed out for it.
And finally, forum members are being told—from more than one direction, mind you—to stay out of things they supposedly "aren't involved in."
Each of these points deserves a deep dive, really, but if I had to sum them up in a single sentence: don't do this. It isn't right, and frankly, you're just creating unnecessary friction and bad blood.
Daniel Ward87 said:It’s honestly sad how you guys act like moderators aren't part of the community too...Regular users break the rules all the time and take the cards and Bans, while mods have to deal with all kinds of nonsense while trying to stay chill, level-headed, and rational—every single day. But the second a mod slips up on the rules, they deserve an even harsher penalty just because they happen to be 🙄
What's with this whole "rules apply to everyone" thing? You guys throw that out constantly, but suddenly the tune changes when it involves the mods. If you're going to preach consistency, then actually be consistent.

Daniel Ward87 said:If this were just about acting entitled, we wouldn't have been penalized 🤷 and yeah, sol faking vat. We missed the mark, we got hit with a penalty, so what? If you think it's unfair, then just say it and complain normally instead of doing... this. Plus, I'll say it again: since when is a single post considered a chat?

Steven Ruiz said:Like I’ve said before, most of the moderators around here don't have a single strike on their record and they're honestly such model citizens... which really makes them the perfect example for everyone else to follow...
So, I was just wondering... what makes you think the moderators act so arrogant and rude like that...?
I really do try my best to be kind to everyone here and answer any questions that come my way, but let’s be real—if someone comes at me with an attitude or starts being downright rude, they can't exactly expect me to stay sweet... I honestly think most of the moderators feel the exact same way about it too...You’re actually the perfect example of what I was talking about, so please be honest with me—what was going through your head when you all started chatting? To me, it honestly felt like everyone was just jumping onto the KzB boards to mess around because they knew they could get away with it while nobody else is allowed to... though, sorry, maybe I've got that all wrong... 🤣
I can only speak for myself here, but I really do believe this applies to everyone else too...
I honestly only started chatting because I was bored out of my mind since I couldn't access anything else on the forum. It wasn't some arrogant move to try and prove to everyone how much influence I have or show off my status here... it’s just that I was sitting around with nothing to do, locked out of the main boards, so I figured I'd just come over here and ramble a little bit... My colleagues actually stopped by to say hi, though they were a little shocked to see me acting like such a total goofball. It’s actually kind of a big deal, too... this is officially my first Ban in ten years of being an active member and moderator... 😬 So, there really isn't any talk about anyone being arrogant or acting all high and mighty...
hollowtrucker77 said:Oh, for sure...
The second things get cleaned up or deleted, suddenly the mods turn into total tyrants.
But the moment they actually let things get a little "loose" and unhinged, that’s when you see what this place really turns into—and trust me, it’s not pretty, is it?
🙂
hollowtrucker77 said:Wait, where exactly? What posts are we even talking about??
And while I’m at it, I’d like to politely ask everyone else to realize that trying to piece together someone's fragmented thoughts is an exhausting mental exercise, so if you're going to start talking, be decent enough to provide the full context instead of leaving us hanging.

I don't know whether to send a PM or just say it publicly here, reddriver35. I know you mean well, but I really hate it when people speak for me. Especially when I'm not even banned. I'm not some little kid from the suburbs mentioned in the opening post.😁
edit - and yeah, it's painfully obvious that this entire topic is just a product of your frustration over how you were treated in the women's corner.

If one of your buddies had started a similar thread, you wouldn't be here dropping facepalms.
This whole discussion is a perfect example of why on this forum, it’s about WHO is posting, not WHAT they're saying.
Nicole Nelson77 said:So, I’ve been scrolling through this subforum, reading all these complaints about what the mods have done or haven't done lately.
Everything is fine with me.
I’ve definitely lost my cool more than a few times myself.
In my relatively short time hanging out on these boards, I’ve felt that flash of anger toward certain moderators—just because they let their own human flaws get in the way of things.
But so what?!!!
I used to sit there thinking, "What on earth is wrong with this moderator?" Is he just totally out of touch with reality?!
Anyway... more to come...
Look, I get it. By the next morning, the irritation over some random ban for "spamming," trolling, flame wars, or whatever other nonsense labels they throw around usually fades away. Those kinds of petty penalties just drive people away from communities like this.
What I’m actually trying to say is that the guy mentioned in the thread title is actually an emotionally mature individual. He deserves some credit. He doesn't just hand out mindless bans for trolling, spamming, or being slightly off-topic. Instead, he handles things with the composure of a real teacher—a grown-up. He issues warnings, people actually respect him, he gets intelligent humor, and he manages a huge crowd of active users without breaking a sweat... I shouldn't praise him too much, though.
Now, Ms. fairy isn't a bad person, but she really ought to spend more time over at Cocaine Nights.
But seriously, that guy is a rare breed of moderator. He has incredible self-control and he's honest—which I assume go hand in hand. He doesn't go off like some trigger-happy gunslinger with a chip on his shoulder just because nobody's shot him yet...
If that moderator ever decides to flag me, I'll know I actually messed up. I won't go crying to anyone about it. They're hard to find, those types...
If only he were my brother-in-law😁
The whole point of this thread is for the benefit of everyone—to educate the mods, the regular posters, and even the lurkers who just watch the chaos unfold.
It's a simple question, really;
I don't care about your opinion on who the "best" moderator is. What I want to know is how YOU feel when you get hit with a completely senseless penalty—something that, in the grand scheme of your actual life, means absolutely nothing!!!
Nicholas King said:Now, I don't claim to know exactly how the sequence of events unfolded, but to me—and I dare say this as someone who is well-meaning and certainly not prone to conspiracy theories—it appeared as though Slafk essentially "fell" victim to the mistaken belief that posting was perfectly fine, while Steven Ruiz ended up being banned significantly after the entire debate had played out. All in all, it’s a strange saga.
If some sort of "final ruling" ever actually surfaced stating that the Prime Minister's post would be punished with a one-month 😲😲😲 ban, well, I certainly haven't seen it.
feraltrucker5 said:@ reddriver35: you really need to take a closer look at this post. 🙂
Every single time, you just spiral off into one of those wild little fantasies of yours, charging ahead like some sort of vigilante trying to force justice upon the world, when in reality, you don't have a single clue what the actual facts are. 🙂 That’s the whole damn issue right there. 😛
feraltrucker5 said:Yeah. And on top of that, she just throws in a mountain of assumptions, treating them like they're absolute gospel when they have zero connection to reality.
Then she acts all shocked when nobody takes the discussion seriously. 🤷 🙂
The forum has plenty of issues, sure, but things would actually improve if someone stepped up and laid them out objectively and rationally instead of making it personal.
Instead, everything here just devolves into these hysterical, petty squabbles and accusations like, "Oh, he did this to me!" or "She said that to me!"
Listen, everyone, if you actually want your complaints to be addressed, at least try to make a coherent point about what the actual problem is. 🙂
wiredharbor22 said:Some of what you're saying, reddriver35, actually makes sense, but it gets lost in all that rambling about who you love or what you choose to write... Try to be a bit more concise and constructive, and maybe we'll see some progress.
