Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Has anyone here had any experience with the Profozic Medical Clinic in the Suburban neighborhood? I noticed they’re running a discount on abdominal and breast ultrasounds, but I don't really know anyone who has actually gone there before.
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
I think I need to get some cardiac work done—an ultrasound and probably a Holter monitor... Has anyone here been to Kardioton to see Dr. Mirat? I'd love to hear about your experiences if you have any. 👍
Erythrocytes are at 5.13 (ref. 3.86-5.08), erythrocyte distribution is 15.2 (9.0-15.0), and hemoglobin is 143
I had some blood drawn because of my iron levels. My iron came back at 9 (ref. 8-30) and UIBC is 48 (ref. 25-59), but my TIBC is 45* (ref. 49-75). I was wondering about that TIBC value—any idea why it might be low?
Dermatology advice? in Health ·
I’m not sure how bad the burn or the blister looks, but I'd suggest not touching it or trying to pop it—just let it burst on its own. Applying some ointment once a day should be enough.

It’s totally normal for it to sting, but just keep applying that cream—it’s honestly amazing. It helps things heal way faster and prevents scarring.
Can someone help me make sense of my Holter results? My heart ultrasound and stress test were both fine.
I have a follow-up appointment this month, so I had to get a new Holter ECG done. This one seems to show more "skipped beats" than my last report. Here is what it says:

Average Sinus rhythm 84/min (62-147)
Rare single PVCs (all same shape, 29 total) and
SVEs 10 reported in 4.36, shorter SVPT of 10.6 sec,
arrhythmia: delayed >140%: 6.

I didn't have any SVEs on my previous Holter, so I'm wondering what this SVPT thing means. Just a heads up, I'm taking 2.5 mg of Propranolol, so I'm curious if these results are considered normal given that the medication doesn't really seem to stop that sensation of my heart skipping beats.
Question for the cardiologists ;) in Health ·

Don't be mad, 😁
I've been dealing with this chest pain for a while now—it’s never in the same spot, it kind of "wanders" around (reaching from under my armpit all the way to the middle of my sternum). It usually feels like a sharp sting or sometimes a burning sensation. The pain lasts about 10 seconds. I also get bouts of tachycardia. I had an IBM done when my heart rate hit around 150. The results didn't show any other abnormalities; there were no arrhythmias noted on the report, just a steady rhythm.
The pain doesn't happen during physical activity; it only hits when I'm resting—mostly when I'm sitting up or reclined. It isn't constant. Lately, though, I've been feeling my heart race quite often while resting, even though when I check it with a blood pressure monitor, it never goes above 90 bpm, which isn't too crazy...
My thyroid hormone levels came back normal, and my thyroid ultrasound was fine too.
So, what else could this be?
Thanks in advance 😁

I deal with constant chest pains too, along with shortness of breath, palpitations, and tachycardia. My IBM and echocardiogram were both okay, though they did record the tachycardia. I have some issues with my spine, and my doctor is convinced that all of this is actually stemming from my back. Maybe yours is related to your spine too?

Maybe give Quest Diagnostics a call. You can actually use an insurance referral there if you need to. Their number is 4594-777, and I guess you could always check out their website too.🙂
Where can I find a good cardiologist? in Health ·

My doctor mentioned there are private clinics that accept insurance referrals. She didn't give me specific names—just said they'd be easy to find—but I’m having a hard time tracking any of them down.
I wouldn't mind paying out of pocket to get it handled faster, but I can't seem to find a single clinic or doctor's office with a decent website that actually lists their prices.🙄

So, does anyone know of a clinic that takes insurance referrals? And if not, what do consultations and exams usually run for around here?

Thanks!

You can use your insurance referral at Medikol, or just pay privately; I know quite a few people who have gone there and were really happy with the service. I'm not sure about the exact pricing, though, so you might want to just give them a call and ask.
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
I deal with pretty painful and heavy periods, and lately, I’ve been needing to pee all the time during my cycle. I guess you wonder if the increased flow and the pressure could be causing that frequent urination?😕
Looking for recommendations for a good GP? in Health ·
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good GP in New York City (Brooklyn or Utrine area)? I’m looking for someone decent who won't be stingy with prescriptions or referrals when they're actually needed.

Has anyone here dealt with Major Bozinovic Antonelo over at the Siget Health Center? I’ve heard she’s actually pretty decent
I could really use some insight, it’s kind of urgent
How are you guys handling this heatwave? in Health ·
This heatwave is absolutely brutal. I’ve had a splitting headache for three days straight, and honestly, I’m feeling so dizzy I feel like a total zombie 😲 . Summer is fine if you’re hanging out at the beach, but being stuck in the city is just miserable. In the winter, if it gets freezing, I can just layer up to stay warm, but right now? I feel like I could walk around in nothing at all and still be sweating. I’ll take a cold winter day with temperatures hitting 10 degrees any day over this.
