If you're just looking for some recreation, I'd suggest flag football. If you want to go full 'tackle' mode, you're looking at a much bigger commitment and a lot more time on the field (among other things 🙂 ).

Honestly, I thought this movie was pretty terrible. Up until the intermission, I actually had a feeling it might turn into something decent, but after that, it became painfully obvious they just ran out of time to wrap things up properly. The final battle is so ridiculous it practically crosses the line into unintentional trash. SPOILER: Who on earth decided to throw kids on ponies and donkeys into the mix like that?? And where did they find the time for all that romantic nonsense right in the middle of a fight? Why even bother with a cavalry charge when you could just pick them off one by one with arrows and hold the bottleneck? It’s clear there's a sequel coming—maybe even a prequel—which is probably the only reason they watered down the plot so much in the second half. At this rate, I'm just waiting for them to shove some Jar Jar Binks-style character into the next one and ruin the whole franchise from scratch. As Cute says, someone just hand Mel Brooks a camera and let him take over!

The Washington Capitals have actually been an established club since July 1, 2007. Since then, we've competed in six international tournaments. I'd highlight our runner-up finish at the tournament in Vienna and an impressive 7th place at the second-largest tournament in Europe held in Walldorf, where we went head-to-head against four national teams (Israel, Austria, Switzerland, and Denmark—all ranked in the top 20 globally) along with about 20 clubs from across the continent. Alongside the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Green Bay Packers, and the Seattle Seahawks, the Washington Capitals were founding members of the first American flag football league, which took place this year. After four tournaments and 24 games played across three cities, the Green Bay Packers took first place, followed by the Washington Capitals in second, the Oklahoma City Thunder in third, and the Seattle Seahawks in fourth. Currently, the Thunder is the only tackle football club in the country participating in organized competition, though the Las Vegas Raiders, Miami Pitbulls, and New Orleans Saints are all showing serious ambition to grow tackle football here in the States.

That game was pure chaos. Things were happening that you just don't see every day... Bičanić went right through the middle of Matoesevic and Svensson twice, and Horvat and Duvnjak hit the post so many times it felt like they were aiming for it. 🙏 🙏 And that defense? About as solid as a national team performance.🙏 If the goalie had actually been playing well in the first half, we would've walked away with a 10-point lead.☕

I called it—I knew exactly what would trip us up, and that’s precisely why we lost. Giving up goals on fast breaks because our defense wasn't set? In modern basketball, you just can't afford to let that happen. But look, when you miss that many open layups (not that they missed *that* much, considering how phenomenal Hvidt was in the hoop), you aren't going to beat a mediocre team, let alone a squad like Denmark.☕ The guards were pretty weak out there, though to be fair, they spent most of the game on the bench, so maybe they could have grabbed one or two more rebounds. Our wings failed to capitalize again, and you could blame Ballinger for that. I say "blame" with air quotes, though, since the poor guy could barely walk properly, let alone find the burst of speed needed to create an advantage. Lackovic was underwhelming, and Valcic only seemed to find his rhythm right at the end of the game. Metlific was incredibly solid, both on offense and defense. Dominic lost his cool way too fast; we actually had a chance to catch up when we were down by three, but he reacted too impulsively to that Danish breakaway, slipped, left a massive hole in the defense, and that was the nail in the coffin. The officiating was easily some of the worst I've seen in any game lately (maybe aside from that Poland-Norway matchup). But honestly, shouldn't you just adapt to the officials' style? Instead, no. Being without left leg, they were struggling for answers, particularly at the pivot position, where Bertrand Gille just couldn't find any openings to exploit. Was it some sort of lethargy, or perhaps just too much pressure, that kept the Americans from inserting the nail while Ivano Balic was barely standing, gripped by pain?

Oh, right! I totally missed that part. We gave up ten goals because our defense was completely disorganized. Lac really dropped the ball there—he was way too slow getting those defensive substitutions in. Between Dominiković, Abalo, and Karabatic constantly clashing into each other, it’s no wonder the ref lost his cool with him... We could easily run into the same mess tomorrow, especially since the Danes are even faster than the French...
