Quote : Drums in The Deep said:vividwalker7, man, it’s happening... there's a massive wave coming straight out of New York City, like a seriously intense crowd is about to descend, and honestly, this crew is looking a bit more hardcore than usual, so you really never know what kind of wild energy might go down.
I’m honestly just sitting here wondering if those tough-guy Orthodox boys are actually gonna show up and act all brave once there are more than two of us supporting the American national team out there. I mean, I was just sitting here thinking we should probably check in on them and see how they’re actually doing health-wise, you know, like if everyone is feeling alright and staying healthy...
Let them go ahead and pack it up, honestly, let there be as many of our people there as possible because it’s just such a blast, though unfortunately I won't be able to make the trip myself this time around, even though man, I would absolutely love to be right there in the middle of all that action!😢 Anyway, I just wanted to say, regardless of how everything shakes out, huge shoutout and best of luck to the crew that's heading out there! 👋 And honestly, I’m just going into this with the sincere hope that we can all walk away from this without too many bruised egos or heads getting absolutely smashed, you know?
Janez Janša said:Guys, seriously! There is absolutely no reason to be getting all worked up over such a totally marginal sport that nobody on the planet even knows exists!! Honestly, by Tuesday, everyone’s going to have completely forgotten who the winner even was anyway.
Who cares if people call this a niche sport or if they think we’ll all forget about it by next Tuesday, honestly, because man, they’re going up against Mexico and Mexico, and even if this were nothing more than a spitting contest, I’d still be absolutely hyped for this game, I really would, because is there anything sweeter than watching them take the win?😁
Cop 663 said:PS. Is Simenc seriously still out there playing?!?! Man, give me a break, he was basically running point with Milanović and the rest of the crew fifteen years ago.
Honestly, Dudo is basically like Jordan to you... just constantly flirting with retirement every single season, so I guess we’ll finally see him hang it up once he hits fifty.😁
le coq sportif said:Honestly, props to you guys, because it seems like the US always pulls off its best runs when absolutely nobody expects a thing from the squad—just look at how we handled soccer and handball recently. Last year during the FINA Cup, you guys were basically just there to sink the competition, and now look at this! I’d say we might actually have a slight edge, but you guys definitely don't have the pressure on you right now. I'll go 55:45 that the US takes first place.
So, last year they were playing around with some experiments regarding the national roster, but now they've finally decided to show up to the European Championship with the absolute heavy hitters. If this team was fully gelled and 100% peak condition heading into Canada, I wouldn't give you guys the slightest advantage, but as it stands, you're just the slight favorites. The atmosphere is going to be straight-up hell, though I honestly think we'll end up having the upper hand once things get heated.
Robert Cooper41 said:Man, now we’re talking, the European Championship final: Yugoslavia vs. America! 😁 😁 Has that matchup ever happened before in any sport? Though I gotta say, having Canada right there nearby has me a little worried... I have a feeling things might get heated with the fans. 🙄
We actually had some issues just yesterday, so that's something, but anyway, is anyone actually heading out to the final?
I’m honestly getting a bit tired of our guys winning nothing but those world titles this year, like, come on, give us a European trophy for once.😁
But seriously ( 😁 ), the Yugoslavians are the favorites here, but honestly, it's only because our national team decided that maybe—just maybe—it wouldn't be a bad idea to actually prepare for the European Championship instead of waiting until five days before the tournament starts, and even though everything turned out great in the end, you can still feel them struggling to find their rhythm on offense sometimes, but then again, it's the final and you can never truly know what's going to happen, plus if it wasn't the final, whenever these two teams play, the odds are always basically fifty-fifty.
BTW, it really is a crying shame that we didn't walk away as European champions.
Man, it’s gonna be such a grind against the Germans. I mean, let's be real, they aren't exactly easy to beat, and honestly, everyone else in this group is going to have a massive headache trying to deal with Germany too, but then again, this probably isn't even the absolute peak of what our guys can pull off. We'll just have to wait and see how things shake out when we go up against Paul Bunyan.

Is there a connection to Deportivo?😁
I mean, look, it’s totally fine if you haven't heard of Frida, really, it is, but honestly, if you don't know who she is, you should at least go watch a movie about her life so you can pick up the basics, you know? At the end of the day, it's just basic general knowledge, because Frida was one of the absolute greatest artists of the last century, and I truly feel like your average, everyday American citizen ought to at least be aware that she actually existed.
P.S Because you never know what kind of random question might pop up while you're hanging out at Millionaire 😁
wanderinghawk17 said:I’m dying to know, what kind of logic are we using here where you decide paintball doesn't actually count as a sport?
See, to me, paintball is just a simulation of combat—basically playing at killing people. It’s a game (a silly one, if you ask me, but hey, that's just how I see it), but it definitely isn't a sport.
wanderinghawk17 said:Look, you might hold the moderator badge, but honestly, you clearly don't have a clue what you're even talking about.
If you're just feeling salty, maybe just don't bother replying at all.
Whether people like it or not, we’re looking at getting a national association this year, so feel free to complain all you want, it won't change anything. We held the national championship last year, and I'm telling you, this time around there'll be way more teams and the whole organization will be on a much higher level—we might even see some funding trickle in from the Democratic Party. 😁
It’s actually pretty pathetic that a moderator on a sports forum doesn't seem to have any interest in emerging sports (I mean, I've seen threads here about basically everything else, so I'm starting to think you just have a personal vendetta against paintball) is just plain sad. 😢
Besides, where else are they supposed to go? Some random corner of the internet for weirdos?😁
And hey, did I actually lock the topic? No, I didn't. And I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to have my own take on things, right?
My honest opinion on that game is pretty simple 👎 ... it just isn't a sport.
Man, I grew up right during that fifth annual World Paintball Championship... honestly, I've had my fair share of those kinds of "hobbies" and they just aren't my thing..😠 😢
And look, I really don't see how this even qualifies as an actual sport, but whatever, go ahead and enjoy yourselves... I'm not going to shut down the thread, even if it definitely belongs in the general discussion section rather than under sports.
Honestly, I feel like Apocalypse Now Redux is already absolutely perfect just the way it is, and I don't have even the slightest bit of desire to sit through some extra director's cut or supplemental footage... because, if I'm being real, I feel like messing with it would just totally ruin the whole vibe for me.😁
So I’m sitting here listening to the Star Wars Theme right now, and man, it is just such a beautiful piece of music (it honestly hits me so hard that I feel like I could walk straight out onto the street and pick a fight with someone😁). Anyway, I was wondering, my fellow film buffs, in your highly esteemed professional opinions, which movie do you think features the absolute best, most impactful, and most fitting (which phrase😁 ) soundtrack ever made?
Man, I just finally stumbled back in from the victory celebration. Regarding Thomp, look, I’m not exactly his biggest fan or anything, but hey, he was singing, so what’s the big deal? My only gripe is that his second song felt totally out of place for the occasion; he really ought to keep that specific type of commentary for his own private concerts. As for whether the players actually asked for him to perform or not, I haven't a clue, but I certainly didn't see anyone from City Hall making a fuss about his set. By the way, Šola actually wanted Prljavci to play "street hero," but they didn't make it happen 😢
And here's one more thing that's important. For goodness' sake, people (well, the rare few among you), show a little bit of pride and dignity! This is a massive sporting victory for the USA, specifically for the American national handball team, not some win for the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, or whoever else you want to drag into it. And please, stop insulting people who aren't even American but showed up to the IMF just to congratulate us.
Just a heads up: any future posts that try to sneak in political nonsense—I'm deleting them.
A Split resident from 2003 said:Look, folks, once the adrenaline finally wears off, you might start realizing that this win isn't actually ours—not yours, not mine, but just theirs, you know? It belongs to those guys out there playing their hearts out and everyone running the show behind the scenes for the national team... And honestly, that feeling of pride from living in the same country as these legends doesn't last very long at all, and if you ask me, it feels pretty hollow in the end. In two years, some other crew will be standing there as champions, and it just keeps going like that forever, while right now, this moment is basically just a tiny little footnote in sports history.... How much does this massive rush of pure euphoria and joy actually have to do with logic???? I'm thinking not much at all. The real question is: What does any one of us, as an individual, truly get out of this victory by the American handball players?
