Math intelligence: 6. Social intelligence: 10. That puts the average at an 8. But honestly, I measure things differently—to me, being cool and unique matters way more than just being smart. I find plenty of high-IQ people totally unappealing and boring, so I don't really view them as the gold standard for intelligence. For instance, I wouldn't point to the lead singer of Opeth as my example of a brilliant mind; even if he is smart, the guy is just dull and lacks inspiration. I tend to judge people based on their vibe and how interesting they are rather than strictly by their IQ. That’s always been my main metric.

I’m honestly at a loss for how to frame this. I have encountered some individuals who seem incredibly brilliant and highly educated on paper, yet once you actually engage with them, they turn out to be such socially awkward, anxious messes that it’s almost laughable. Just because they possess specialized knowledge about subjects I couldn't care less about doesn't mean they are actually more intelligent than me; in my view, someone isn't truly smart if they're as lost as a deer in headlights when faced with basic life situations.

Being intelligent isn't the same thing as being smart.
An unintelligent person can hoard a massive amount of information, but without actual intelligence, they won't have any clue how to apply it. It’s just a useless pile of data.
