Yeah, I'm right there with you. You're gonna have to raise the bar for what counts as "insane" because honestly, more and more people are crossing that line every day. At this rate, we're all just gonna end up losing our minds.β˜•

Why didn't you give Mia a response? She asked you nicely to give her an analysis🍿

And are there more extroverts or introverts dealing with personality disorders? 🍿

Can't really compare it to a less individualized past, but there are plenty of logical links and behavioral patterns pointing toward a higher likelihood of people developing narcissistic traits.
As for which type there are more of, hard to say. People with personality disorders often don't even seek professional help, so they either slip through life unnoticed or just get labeled as weirdos or psychos without any nuance. Meanwhile, those of us who can actually spot the patterns aren't exactly winning any popularity contests. 😁

"Madness" isn't even a term used in psychology or psychiatry. 😁

Not sure what I'd even write; "could be me too?" doesn't give me much to work with.

10k. Primarily because I know exactly where my weaknesses lieβ€”and more importantly, I know which workarounds can help me manage them.πŸ™‚

I honestly have no clue how many there areβ€”it's hard to say. People dealing with personality disorders often don't even bother seeking professional help, so they just drift through life unnoticed, or worse, they get slapped with labels like "weirdo" or "crazy" without anyone actually looking at the specifics. Meanwhile, those of us who can actually spot these patterns? Yeah, we aren't exactly the most popular people at the party. 😁

Look, the concept of "madness" doesn't even exist in actual psychology or psychiatry. 😁

I don't even know what I'd write in response; a simple "could it be me?" doesn't exactly give me much to work with here.

Interesting stuff! Honestly, I think it’s more fascinating than ever right nowβ€”and frankly, easierβ€”to observe what's going on because of the entire societal context and how exposed everyone is thanks to all this information tech, communication tools, and social media.
How often does psychology actually encounter new disorders caused by these massive shifts in our society?

Is it actually true that mental illnesses develop by age 25, or is that just some urban legend?

In my opinion, everyone exhibits behaviors characteristic of psychological disorders at certain stages of their lives, or at least is predisposed to them.
I’m guessing things don't trigger an intervention until a person stops being functional in their daily life or starts completely wrecking their relationships with the people around them?

And since we're on the topic... 😬 How do you even approach someone with schizophrenia? I have this young neighbor who drops by our place, and he has these phases where he's totally fine, but most of the time he's just completely dysfunctional for everyday life. He’s convinced doctors are poisoning him, so he eventually just stops taking his meds.

Look, I’m obviously smart, but sometimes I act like a total idiot on this forum. 🀣

The only intelligence test I’ve ever actually taken was the one for my driver's license. It’s basically impossible to fail unless you're a complete moron, so it's hardly a high bar. I actually asked the woman grading my results how I did. She told me: "Upper limit of average."

The only intelligence test I’ve ever actually sat for in my life was that little one you have to take for your driver's license. Honestly, if you can't pass that, you're probably just an idiot, so it's hardly a benchmark for genius. I actually asked the woman who graded my results how she thought I did, and she told me: "upper limit of average."

That's easy enough! πŸ™‚ But more importantly... how beautiful do you think you are? Now *that* is the poll worth taking! πŸ™‚πŸ€£

haha

Seriously though, these polls are greatβ€”perfect for us low-key analytical types. 😁

The world belongs to the youth, so let them handle the "rate my looks from 1 to 10" stuff. Once I hit 40, I'm done playing those games. πŸ₯³ Truth be told, I never really knew what my number was anyway. 😁

There aren't any young people left in here 😳 This place has basically become the forum's sediment and a retirement home πŸ₯³

Actually, I think I’ve been the youngest person on this board for quite some time now, though I suppose I'm technically not anymoreβ€”since chem and savage are both younger than me.

I think Chrmica is younger than me too, probably still in college. And who even is savage? No clue. You're definitely older than me.🍿

Oh, come on, you've got to be kidding me. I was honestly thinking you were more like 35 or 40 in terms of how you carry yourself. 🀣

That title caught my eye πŸ€” "How smart do you actually think you are?" πŸ€” though they claim thinking is just a load of crap πŸ€”
