stormybadger8 said:so you've concluded it was intentional, but based on what exactly? 🤣

What makes you think Sebastian Vettel veered into Lewis Hamilton on purpose? Was he just steering aimlessly or something? 🙂

It was pretty clear that Sebastian Vettel lost his cool, pulled up alongside Lewis Hamilton, and started waving his arms around, which obviously led to him bumping into Lewis, but I don't see how that could have been done intentionally...

Because if you were certain he meant it, Lewis wouldn't have even continued the race...

I highly doubt even Sebastian Vettel believes in your theory... 🙂

Lewis Hamilton was indeed braking dirty, quite unfairly, and then Sebastian Vettel collided with him, but that subsequent contact with Lewis was completely unnecessary, and the penalty handed out was laughable. In my opinion, Sebastian Vettel should have been shown a black flag... regardless of how much I dislike Lewis Hamilton...

I find it hard to believe how many Sebastian Vettel fanboys are lurking on this forum trying to defend him 🙂.

The poor German isn't to blame for anything here, though frankly, I couldn't care less about him or Lewis Hamilton. I don't care if Hamilton lifted or not, nor do I care who should have been penalized for the initial contact. Telemetry told its own story; if I’m being honest, I think Hamilton should have been forced into a pit stop for cooling. It feels as though he lifted intentionally, even if the telemetry suggests otherwise. In short, I am entirely indifferent to their first contact and any subsequent fallout.

However, that second intentional side-swipe was nothing short of pathological. Sebastian Vettel proved he is mentally unstable; that wasn't a normal reaction. It was a momentary lapse in sanity. I've grown accustomed to his outbursts, his threats, and his middle fingers, but this has crossed a line.

I truly wonder who is protecting him or sucking up to him within the FIA. A ten-second penalty for an intentional collision is nonsense. He needs an immediate race ban and should be sent straight to a psychiatrist for his own good.

Naturally, he hasn't offered an apology to anyone; instead, he remains offended. The man is going so far that he’s actually questioning his own actions and why he was penalized over the radio—truly exemplary behavior from a four-time champion.

Of course, the Sebastian Vettel fanboys here refuse to acknowledge the telemetry and choose to blame Hamilton, who, I must remind you, was leading the pack and controlling the pace. What's more, nobody else complained, and nobody else crashed into someone from behind due to Hamilton's lifting.

Hamilton was setting Sebastian Vettel up against Sergio Perez, and honestly, I would have done the same. What excuse does Vettel have for slamming into someone from behind?
A complete budaletina, really. An unrecognizable individual, ever since his final year at Red Bull Racing.

Not only is the FIA clearly shielding him with a ridiculous penalty, but he also has the luck of the draw that Hamilton has to pit due to car issues.

But no, apparently Hamilton is the coward because he asked why Valtteri Bottas wasn't slowing down, whereas Sebastian Vettel isn't a coward, even though Kimi Raikkonen mysteriously vanishes from the track whenever the German comes charging at him.

It is disgraceful for the sport and shameful for Sebastian Vettel. As a human being, he ought to apologize to Hamilton for the intentional hit, but naturally, an egoist with such a clouded mind is incapable of doing so.

During the red flag period, Hamilton looked for him in the pits, but of course, the German couldn't be bothered to show up.

I honestly think that today—June 26, 2017—marks the start of a truly spectacular new rivalry in Formula 1 🙏🙏.

We might even see them introducing post-race pit lane showdowns starting next year; the viewership numbers would be absolutely through the roof 🍿

Once they realized Kimi Raikkonen wasn't at fault, they just labeled it a racing incident and moved on...
Since the Mercedes driver isn't going to be blamed anyway, there was zero point in investigating anything further.🙂

Stop talking nonsense and tell me why Sebastian Vettel didn't pick up the black flag. Why? Was it just an accident? Mercedes gets all the favoritism, bravo my friend, your grasp on reality is truly impressive.

The FIA gives him a gift—a total GIFT—and you're still rambling on about how they favor Mercedes. Unbelievable.

Wtf

I mean, I guess we could call it a game, though that feels like a bit of an understatement given how much of a mess things usually get when the lights go out, right? Maybe it’s just me, but sometimes it feels less like a high-stakes race and more like everyone is just playing a massive, expensive game of musical chairs with those Pirelli tires, and honestly, I don't know if anyone actually knows the rules anymore. It’s all just chaos wrapped up in carbon fiber, I suppose.
mellowtiger83 said:Man, I can't believe it, it's actually happening... he's finally leaving the Forum for good, and honestly? It just sucks.

mellowtiger83 said:Honestly, I'm kind of over this forum lately, because there’s just way too much nonsense and stupidity going on here.
...
So, I went ahead and gave you an answer on this thread too, but yeah, I guess that’s me out—that was my last post.

I guess there isn't much to say about the match itself, really, though I suppose I could ramble on about how things unfolded if anyone actually cares to listen. It was one of those days where everything felt slightly off, you know? Like, maybe I expected more, or maybe I just didn't expect as little as I did, but I don't know. It’s hard to pin down exactly when the momentum shifted, but it kind of just sort of drifted away from us, I guess. Just a weird vibe all around.
mellowtiger83 said:I honestly can't believe how many Sebastian Vettel fanboys are hanging around this forum lately, just constantly jumping in to defend him no matter what. 🙂.
Honestly, I don't really care about that German driver, he’s got nothing to do with this. And frankly, I couldn't care less about Hamilton either—whether he actually lifted or not doesn't really move the needle for me. It also doesn't matter who should have been penalized for that first contact between them, if you ask me. Even though the telemetry is out there telling one story, I kind of feel like Hamilton probably should've been forced into a cool-down pit stop just to be safe, though I guess it feels like he might have lifted on purpose even if the data says otherwise. Anyway, at the end of the day, I'm just not losing any sleep over their collision or whatever fallout comes from it.
I mean, that second intentional side-swipe was just a straight-up sick move, honestly. I guess Sebastian Vettel is just proving he’s totally unhinged at this point, because that wasn't exactly a normal reaction, was it? It felt more like a total mental breakdown on the track. I mean, I've kind of gotten used to his usual antics—the constant bickering, the threats, even the middle fingers—but this? This is crossing a line into something way more concerning.
I honestly find myself wondering who exactly is looking out for him or just sucking up to him over at the FIA, because giving out a ten-second penalty for intentional lunging just makes zero sense to me. I mean, maybe they think they're being tough, but it feels totally arbitrary, I guess. Honestly, someone should probably just hand him an immediate race ban and suggest he goes see a psychiatrist for his own good, if you know what I mean.
Of course, he hasn't even bothered to apologize to anyone, and instead, he’s still sitting there acting all insulted. I mean, the guy actually goes as far as using the team radio to question what he even did and why he got penalized in the first place... just lovely behavior from a four-time champion, I guess.
Of course, the Vettel fanboys in here just refuse to look at the actual telemetry, and instead they're busy blaming Lewis Hamilton—even though, if you think about it, he was the one leading the pack and dictating the entire pace of the race. It’s kind of wild when you consider that nobody else besides Sebastian Vettel even complained, and honestly, no one else ended up rear-ending anyone just because Hamilton lifted off the throttle.
I mean, honestly, I think Lewis Hamilton was totally setting up Sebastian Vettel for Perez, and if I were in his shoes, I probably would've done the exact same thing, I guess. But then you have to wonder about the whole Vettel factor—like, what kind of driver is he really, when you consider how he just drives right into people from behind?
Total idiot, honestly... just a complete nobody who hasn't been able to find his footing since he left Red Bull Racing last year.
It’s not even just that the FIA is obviously playing favorites by handing out those ridiculous penalties, I guess... it's more like Lewis Hamilton just happened to get lucky since he’s forced into the pits anyway because his car is acting up.
I mean, I don't know, calling Lewis Hamilton a coward just because he questioned why Valtteri Bottas didn't slow down seems a bit much, I guess, though maybe there's something to it. And then you've got Sebastian Vettel, who definitely isn't a coward, even if Kimi Raikkonen has this weird habit of just mysteriously vanishing from the track whenever that German guy starts closing the gap on him.
It’s honestly pretty pathetic for the sport, and frankly, it's a disgrace on Sebastian Vettel's part too. I mean, as a decent human being, he really ought to step up and apologize to Lewis Hamilton for that intentional hit, but I guess an egoist like him, stuck in his own dark headspace, just isn't capable of doing the right thing.
During that red flag period, Lewis Hamilton was basically hunting him down in the pit lane, but of course, the German didn't even bother showing his face.

I watched that 🤣
If anyone deserves a black flag, it’s the British media. They literally cornered Lewis Hamilton and told him Sebastian Vettel claimed he crashed into him on purpose just because he's a man—implying Hamilton is some kind of girl... which is obviously total nonsense.
They weren't even embarrassed, either. A second before that, they aired an interview with Vettel where he didn't say any of that, let alone anything remotely close to it...

Peak journalism right there. 🙏
Man, you gotta sell headlines and clicks somehow. 😁

Now we just wait for the next one. I bet they'll dig up some old photo of Vettel next to a heavyweight boxer with a headline about how he's training for a fight. 🤣

Also—any update on that investigation involving Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Räikkönen? Felt like Kimi had already cleared him...

No one's at fault here—just a racing incident—and thank God there aren't any ridiculous penalties being handed out.

He was slow enough already to clear the corner easily.

But no, he insists on braking like he's at Monaco, doing it at barely 31 miles/h, instead of a track where you can cruise at 218 miles/h right after that turn!

If they started doing post-race pit lane scraps next year, the ratings would absolutely go through the roof 🍿

They actually have stuff like that in NASCAR—drivers throwing hands after the race—and since the new owners are basically trying to "nascarizivati" Formula 1, I bet we'll see it eventually 🙂.

Just kidding. In all honesty, I think the British media felt this sudden urge to take Lewis Hamilton's side, but maybe karma is starting to catch up with him lately.

He should consider himself lucky he didn't run into him. Otherwise, that little trinket of hers would have likely ended up on the other side of his nose, just to ensure both sides were perfectly even. And all for free.

FIA giving him a gift? A freaking GIFT? And you’re still out here rambling on about how they favor Mercedes-Benz. Give me a break.

wtf ako

If that was intentional, then we're all screwed at 3 PM...
That was such a pathetic, half-baked performance. It’s honestly embarrassing—it wouldn't even pass for a decent drive from someone like Palmer, let alone someone who actually knows how to handle a car. Get it together. 😁
If Sebastian Vettel actually intended to slam into Lewis Hamilton like that, it definitely wouldn't have looked quite that way.☕

Man, at this point, contact feels more like a light tap than an actual hit.🤦

Besides that, when has anyone actually caught a black flag or a race ban for a collision lately? Unless we're talking about some absolute insanity like Romain Grosjean in Belgium, I can't think of anything else happening in recent memory.

If I remember right, Maldonado didn't even get a penalty for that blatant, intentional hit on Sergio Perez in Monaco. He was practically hunting him down around the track before slamming into him at the corner before the tunnel. And he didn't even get a race ban? Unbelievable.🤣

Shouldn't Vettel get a race ban? He definitely hit Hamilton's wheel a little too hard there. 🙂
That was terrifyingly dangerous. Seriously, absolutely insane.

Vettel's move was pure idiocy. It deserves a penalty regardless of whether he meant it or not. Honestly, who cares? It doesn't matter.
The penalty itself was fair. It wasn't too light or anything. It’s just that Hami had his own little meltdown about it...
It would’ve been way easier if they just slapped him with a five-second penalty at the end instead of making him fight through all that nonsense. That would have been much smoother... but obviously, that's not how this works.

My friend, whoever the cause was is irrelevant. If Hamilton took a penalty, fine, but the telemetry showed he wasn't at fault.

The consequence is the actual problem. To you, it seems perfectly normal for a driver to drift sideways into another car and intentionally slam into them—bravo, my friend.

I understand cause and effect quite well. I stood by Sebastian Vettel many times last year to defend him, but what happened here was a total lapse in judgment. Even if the FIA decided to let it slide for reasons known only to them—given the penalty was a joke—I expect at least an apology. They should sit down and have a conversation with Lewis Hamilton.

Did he have the right to take that corner at 31 miles/h? Absolutely.
And did he drive through that corner the exact same way during the SC earlier? He did.
The fact that Seb is buzzing around is really just Seb's own mistake here. Like someone else pointed out, nobody else ended up crashing into anyone except Seb.

Plus, those two videos you keep posting actually favor Lewis Hamilton.

It was executed so poorly and weakly that it's beneath even someone like Palmer, let alone someone who actually knows how to handle a car. Get it together.😁 If
Sebastian Vettel really intended to slam into Lewis Hamilton, it certainly wouldn't have looked like that.☕

Good grief, that contact felt more like a light tap than a collision...🤦

Besides, when has anyone actually received a black flag, a race ban, or anything similar for a crash, unless it was for extreme nonsense like Romain Grosjean in Belgium? I can't recall any other instance recently...

As far as I remember, even Maldonado didn't get penalized for that blatant attempt to take out Sergio Perez in Monaco, though he did chase him down the track and eventually slammed into him at the corner before the tunnel, so he escaped the race ban...🤣

But if Vettel is supposed to face a race ban just because he brushed against Hamilton's wheel slightly 🙂
And poor Hamilton is always being targeted; it used to be Felipe Massa, then Mark Webber, then Nico Rosberg, and now that they're gone, it's Vettel's turn.🙂

Maldonado and Romain Grosjean aren't the same; they made mistakes under racing conditions—during starts, due to misjudgments, heavy braking, or kamikaze moves. Vettel hit Hamilton on the side INTENTIONALLY; he steered directly into Hamilton.

It is crystal clear. Vettel needs to get his head under control, immediately. Absolutely immediately.
