What's the best Naomi Watts movie?

I’ve always liked Naomi, though she really hit her stride when she started working with Nicole, who basically carried her career forward. It honestly feels like both of them are starting to fade from the spotlight at the exact same time.

It’s pretty obvious they’re being handed diminishing roles now; it's like producers are quietly telling them it’s time to step aside. I mean, seeing Nicole get that tribute award at Cannes felt a bit much—it was almost like they were officiating a funeral.

Out of everything Naomi has done, my favorite is still The Painted Veil

Yeah, but let's be real, Nicol has always been at the top of her game, whereas Naomi has been seriously overlooked by Hollywood for way too long. Honestly, the fact that she didn't snag an Oscar for her role in 21 Grams pretty much says it all...

I just love seeing her on screen because she's genuinely beautiful and has such a charming presence. Plus, she’s a fantastic actress. I've realized that some people find her a bit uninspiring... but hey, to each their own.

Honestly, compared to the original American remake, Funny Games was a total flop, wasn't it? She just got lost in the shuffle alongside Roth and those two psychos, and none of the leads felt believable.
Looking at her other stuff, Mulholland Drive is definitely a standout—that audition scene is burned into my brain forever! And man, she was incredible in 21 Grams too. I’d also throw in that slightly forgotten flick Adoration, where she plays this MILF type who’s basically trading everything for her sons.

Take a look at Ellie Parker (2005).......not even because of the plot, but strictly for her performance.

It’s the perfect showcase of her sheer talent.....

Look, I get it. Not everyone is going to be a fan of hers. We’re all different people, and we don't have to vibe with the same stuff... but when someone starts claiming she can't act or that she's just some mediocre talent, I’m definitely going to step in and say they're talking nonsense. Because honestly? They really are. This woman is easily one of the greatest actresses of our generation. It's not even like she's "acting" in the traditional sense; she just completely inhabits those roles... it's more like she lives them. You can decide you don't like her, you can hate her guts, or find her totally unexpressive if that's your thing. Nobody's stopping you from having an opinion. But you really can't deny her sheer talent...

Nicole recently crushed that lead role in Big Little Lies—it was honestly a masterclass. After being stuck in that weird limbo where she wasn't landing anything particularly memorable for a while, she finally stormed back onto the scene in total style... kind of like being nailed into a coffin by some divine hand... what a joke. When they nail you down like that, they don't exactly hand out trophies... they just ignore you...

Honestly, Naomi has been absolutely killing it lately—I mean, her performance in The Impossible back in 2012 was just incredible...
