Look, I get it—the kid isn't necessarily in the wrong on his own, but he keeps pushing this idea that while the nasty media treats fans like criminals, now they're suddenly out there helping people. It’s like this tired old mantra that keeps looping, and frankly, it doesn't hold water. When fans do something decent, the media loves to parade them around (you see a couple of new articles about it every single day), but the second something goes sideways, of course they're going to label them as hooligans. It's a bit of an extreme swing in both directions, sure, but expecting anything else from the press is just being incredibly naive (and I'm being polite here).
As for what you said about the picture, I'm not really buying it; maybe that was the intention, but the whole situation feels pretty absurd to me. I'm seeing stuff on Facebook about armed attacks and needing to protect convoys of supplies, and I mean, come on, give me a break—it's not like we're marching into New York City.
