Nobody is forcing you, or anyone else for that matter, to pour liters of alcohol down your throat or inject heroin into your veins. The most intense cases involve those lost souls who spend their entire lives searching for meaning, only to finally encounter God once they hit rock bottom due to their own vices. That is when this sudden "enlightenment" happens, followed by a total rejection of their former life—which, in this specific instance, includes their fan loyalty. If he had actually focused on his career and his education, he could have successfully managed both fronts. Instead, he spent his time fooling around and got hooked on dope, and now he’s blaming the fans because his life is a complete wreck. People like this always look for someone else to blame rather than taking an honest look in the mirror.
