I completely get all that "whining" you hear over the radio—I mean, look, these guys are piloting Formula 1 cars at insane speeds for two hours straight, battling one another, playing the tactical game, all that jazz... if someone cut me off at a chicane while I was pushing, I’d be the first one losing my cool, swearing my head off, and venting every bit of frustration... it's just pure, unadulterated adrenaline x100, really.

Who actually knows what drivers were saying over the team radio before those recordings were ever released to the public? All that mumbling under their breath from legends like Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, or Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet... it’s all perfectly normal when you're in the heat of battle, riding a massive adrenaline rush, or just dealing with sheer frustration...

...though, to be fair, some of them definitely take it a bit too far...☕

I mean, were drivers in the more recent past actually this much of a crybaby, just like Alonso and Vettel are being now? Or maybe even back when it was Webber and the rest?

George Ramos15 said:What a race. Too bad Alonso messed up at the start. Incredible drive. Bottas was great too. In my book, he’s Driver of the Day. Richard was awesome as well. Honestly, the guy should just take a Super License already.

Right, so Alonso cheated at the start and earned his nickname "The Fraud"...
Truthfully, they should have disqualified him instead of handing out that pathetic 5-second penalty, but even so, that doesn't justify him getting a Super License.☕

Dammit, I missed half the race.🙂
And I didn't even record it.😵

Gotta go watch the replay.😳

It’s actually quite hard to say, isn't it? We didn't exactly have team radio back then to listen in on all the griping.

But let's be honest—drivers tend to complain even when everything is going perfectly according to plan.

I truly believe that if you had Ayrton Senna or Nigel Mansell in the cockpit today, they would be right up there with the current lot when it comes to making a scene.

It was the truth. He should have been disqualified right then and there instead of just getting that ridiculous five-second penalty, but regardless, that doesn't change his eligibility for a superlicense.☕

Dammit, I missed half the race because I wasn't paying attention.🙂
And I didn't even record it either.😵

I really need to go back and watch the replay.😳

You definitely should have watched it. Vettel managed to hold onto a top 5 spot, which isn't exactly an easy feat.😍

Honestly, seeing Mark Webber show up at the race again, I’m actually surprised his car didn't just give up on him. 🤣
First race where Webber was actually there without Vettel's Red Bull Racing getting even a tiny scratch on it.🤣

Fresh rubber, nine laps in, plus the DRS advantage and a much faster car on track.

We all saw it. If you didn't see it, you clearly weren't watching.

So you finally realized your golden boy got played at the start by Kimi and then absolutely wrecked by Vettel 😲
Guess you finally opened your eyes 😲

I’m gonna go celebrate this with a massive pile of sodas😁

So, Alonso started P16 and fought his way up to P6. Due to a blunder by Ferrari at the start, they failed to put the number 14 placard next to his grid slot like they usually do—yet, strangely enough, he actually got penalized for the exact same thing that Felipe Massa wasn't penalized for back in Barcelona.
He sliced through the field to take 5th place with a display of driving that—once the replays are analyzed—will be etched into the minds of anyone who truly understands this sport; that overtake on Richard was just "something else."
Two laps later, during that "battle" with Vettel, Ferrari actually considered pulling Alonso out of the race because of a rear wing issue that wouldn't fully close, combined with battery problems and excessive fuel consumption triggered by those earlier technical hiccups.
Still, despite being played by the yellow-clad establishment—who seem to be hunting for points like starving kids chasing crumbs—and dealing with all those mechanical headaches plus running 9-lap-old tires, it still took him about 10 laps to reach Maestro!!!

Honestly... it’s a disgrace. A total disgrace for Formula 1 over the last four years.
EDIT: Vettel before overtaking Alonso via DRS while cutting the corner... http://t.co/VZuzsplcwF

Look, we all saw it. And honestly, if you somehow managed to miss that, you probably need to go get your eyes checked immediately.

Man, I guess you finally saw the light too. 😲

I'm heading out to celebrate with a massive crowd of total nobodies.😁

🙂

But then you’ve got that specific breed of people who are just going to keep playing blind, honestly, instead of actually showing an ounce of dignity and just admitting they were wrong.

The truth is, he should have been disqualified entirely instead of being handed that ridiculous five-second penalty. Regardless, that doesn't change the fact that it isn't enough to earn him a superlicense. ☕

What are you talking about? What disqualifications?
If you actually follow Formula 1, you would have seen this happen already this year. It wasn't identical, but it was arguably worse. A crew from the back of the grid messed up their positioning and they were hit with the same five-second stop-and-go penalty. The rule applies exactly the same way regardless of the circumstances.

In Canada, that dirty, hot air trailing behind Barbie wrecked his brakes. Austria was too far out of reach. At Silverstone, overtaking is actually possible. It's pretty clear to me.

I'm so sure about it that I put down $67🙂

Money's gone for nothing.
You'd have been better off spending that cash on some prime brisket from the butcher. There's a sale at Walmart $13 per pound.

Expert. 🙂

He couldn't get past Barbie in Monaco, then in Canada, he was stuck in that filthy, blistering hot air trailing behind Barbie which absolutely cooked his brakes, and in Austria he was just way too far back to make anything happen. Plus, at Silverstone, you can actually overtake, so for me, the whole thing is a done deal.

I'm so certain about this that I actually put $67🙂

You know how much respect I have for my fellow experts.

How much did you guys put up?

Seb, basically, Vettel absolutely wrecked Jalons... He just didn't have the guts or the technical skill behind the wheel. He tried to force him off on the long straight, misjudged the move, and failed to react in time. Vettel just crushed him like it was nothing. Honestly, he completely outplayed him... Viva Vettel!

It’s honestly such a blast watching everyone lose their minds over the
battle for 5th or 6th place. If you actually get why that matters, then you're on my level—there’s a genuine sense of joy
when the driver or the team you’re rooting for manages to snag one of those middle spots. That’s basically how I’ve felt about the sport for the last decade or so.
I was especially happy today seeing just how gentle Williams was being with their tires.
Back when we were in Austria, tire degradation was our biggest headache, but today it was barely even an issue. It just goes to show that the crew knows
exactly which direction to take the car's development, and clearly, all that hard work is paying off.

For sure. I mean, Massa didn't burn through them at all...😁

Back when we were in Austria, tire deg was a total nightmare, but today? Hardly even an issue. It just goes to show

Right now, Williams is basically the second strongest squad on the grid. Massa has had nothing but terrible luck lately, but hey, maybe his streak will finally break. Honestly, they might even start breathing down Red Bull's neck for that 2nd spot in the constructors' standings. ☕
