Listen, I need some help here,

Basically, I’m staring down an exam for my college course and I urgently need SPSS.

I already burned through my one-month free trial, but now that it's expired, they won't let me download it again. Does anyone have a link where I can just grab the software? I've been hunting for it for ages... it's driving me crazy...😢

If you can't find it on a torrent site, I guess you'll just have to pay up if you want the full version—it is what it is...

Has anyone actually messed around with doing a backup and recovery on Windows 7 using just the built-in tools?
Anyone got any insight on what kind of headaches I might run into during

- Backup
- Recovery

The plan is to back up the entire C drive to an external HDD—basically my E drive—and I'll be making a bootable CD too.

How much space is your Windows folder eating up on Windows 7? I’m running Windows 7 with SP1 and my folder is sitting at a chunky 15.1 GB. It feels a bit heavy to me, though I can't spot anything looking out of the ordinary. System32 is the biggest culprit at 3.85 GB, followed by Microsoft.NET at about 1 GB.
My swap file is turned off.

I'm actually using Windows 10, but if you're struggling with low disk space, maybe try deleting your system restore points or just running CCleaner to clear out all that accumulated junk...

A 15GB footprint is perfectly standard.
Mine is sitting at 27 GB.

So, I ran headfirst into a bit of a snag. Now the real question is, how am I going to smooth this one out?

Thanks. I checked that out, but the thing is, I don't even see a
Windows Update Cleanup
option showing up in my Disk Cleanup tool at all.image

Maybe it's because my Windows isn't officially licensed, so I've had updates blocked since day one. It just doesn't make sense to me how nearly 6 GB of data managed to pile up in there if nothing is running.
This article actually says:
''If you don’t see this feature in the Disk Cleanup window, you’re likely behind on your updates — install the latest updates from Windows Update.''
The catch is I can't run any updates, and I'm honestly stuck because I have no idea how else to clear out that winsxs folder.

I’ve started the installation process, but I have a few lingering doubts about which version I should actually be using.

The original setup was Windows 7 Home, so that’s what I went ahead and downloaded.

Does anyone know what the actual difference is compared to the other versions? Is it even worth switching to something else, like Windows 7 Professional?

Is there a significant enough difference to justify the move?

If you're installing an official version, you need to make sure it matches the specific edition tied to your product key—which, in your case, would be the Home edition.

Hey everyone, I'm assuming there isn't just one thread about this floating around. Since I just picked up a new PC, I’ve been sitting here wondering which OS I should actually be running. Right now, I'm on Windows 7, and honestly, it works fine for me. So, what's the real deal with Windows 10? What am I actually gaining by making the switch? For an average user like myself, is there any real advantage to moving over?

If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
Windows 7 is the absolute king of desktop operating systems if you ask me, but hey, that's just my two cents.

If you're setting up a new computer, just go ahead and install a fresh OS—I'd say Windows 10. There have already been plenty of comparisons written about it out there...

I’d say go ahead and just set it to 10 without overthinking it too much...

I did a little digging online, but I wanted to check with you guys—is it actually true that Windows 10 doesn't support DVDs?

VLC player should be fine, I guess. Just not the one you'd grab from the App Store.

Alright, I finally pulled the trigger on Windows 10, even though I’ve got a massive soft spot for Windows 7.

Windows 10 is a whole different beast—it’s faster, smoother, and honestly just much better equipped for all those upcoming DX 12 titles and everything else coming down the pipeline. I mean, let's be real, Windows 7 feels like a relic from a completely different era already...
