What happens if you just type "system restore" directly into the search bar? Does anything actually pop up?

This keeps popping up http://www.igreklik.com/slike/viewer...ur=zBCKmIf.jpg

The thing is, I can't for the life of me figure out where to toggle this back on, because it looks like it's just completely disabled right now....

Hey,
whenever I try to run a System Protection restore (see image 2), it just kicks me over to image 3 where I'm prompted to "Turn on system protection!" From there, it leads me straight to image 4, telling me to "Click to open system," but when that "System" window actually pops up, the "System Protection" button I'm looking for is nowhere to be found. It's just... gone.
Hopefully, I've explained this clearly enough.🤦

Hopefully, that makes sense.🤦

None of that is going to work then. You might want to try creating a completely new user account and logging into it; that should tell you immediately if the issue lies with Windows itself or if your specific user profile is just broken. If it's a Windows issue, you're likely looking at a full reinstall. If it's just the profile, you'll need to migrate your data over to the new one and delete the corrupted profile.

Hey there,
I just set up a brand new account and managed to log in without any issues. Now, does anyone know how I can go about migrating all my data from my old profile over to this new one?

Navigate to your drive, go into the Users folder, and open up your old profile directory. Once you have it open, simply copy whatever files you need—Downloads, Documents, Music, Videos, Favorites, Desktop, etc.—and paste them into their respective folders within the new profile. After you've moved everything, take some time to reconfigure your settings in the new account (email, browser settings, and anything else tied to your specific setup). Only once you are absolutely certain everything is transferred should you delete the old profile. To do that, right-click on "This PC" and select Properties. In the window that pops up, look for "Advanced system settings" on the left side and click that. A new window will appear; under the Advanced tab, you'll find User Profiles. That’s where all the profiles are listed, and that is where you can delete the old one. I'll say it again: do not delete the old profile until you have successfully migrated every single setting and file to the new one.🙂

Thanks again 👍!

Could someone please point me toward a link where I can download Windows 7? I’m definitely not a tech wizard—so I need something I can actually handle installing myself! Also—is there any way to grab an activation key online? Or better yet, is there a version that doesn't even require one? Same question for Microsoft Office, too. Thanks!

Grab this little utility—it’s got pretty much every version of Windows you could need, and even Microsoft Office too. If you end up needing a product key, just shoot me a private message.

Windows pulled down 118 MB across 13 updates today.
After a reboot, I'm staring at a Windows 7 Build 7601 - Windows not Genuine message. This isn't the first time; it's happened two or three times before, and I usually fix it by stripping out a specific update.
Does anyone know which of these updates is the latest culprit? Which one (KBxxxxxxx)

Save the lectures about my OS being fake. I'm well aware. I've already explained the situation on this forum: I bought a laptop with a legitimate version of Windows 7 pre-installed. A few years later, the hard drive died. I swapped in a new drive and installed a non-genuine version because I never received an original installation disc with the purchase.

Here is the list of installed updates:
KB3175024
KB890830
KB3115459
KB3118300
KB3185319
KB3115462
KB3118303
KB3182373
KB3114744
KB3185911
KB3177186
KB3172605
KB3184122

I know the move is to run a System Protection restore and pull one of these KBs from the update list.
I’d rather not play technician, installing and uninstalling them one by one until I hit the right one. Does anyone know which one is the problem?

There’s no such thing as "fake" Windows—it all really comes down to having the right product key. Why bother uninstalling updates? Just shoot me a PM and we can get this sorted out properly.

I know the solution involves running a system restore and removing one of these KBs from the update list.
Rather than playing technician and installing/uninstalling them one by one until I stumble upon the right one, can anyone point me to the offender?

In case anyone is wondering, KB3185911 is the one causing the trouble.

Windows 7 isn't genuine, or so this guy says...

It worked fine for a month. I managed to get through about ten activations, but now it's telling me I've hit the limit. This popped up:

Anyone know how to fix this without having to reinstall Windows again?

Can anyone help me out so I don't have to reinstall Windows all over again?

Oh man, just use a reloader to activate Windows and call it a day.

It sounds like your optical drive is giving you some trouble... what kind of machine are we working with here? If you can list out the full specs, that might help—but honestly, if you have a USB stick handy, just install Windows from that instead. If you’ve got the Windows 7 ISO file, you can easily burn it to a thumb drive using a program like Rufus.

It's a Dell OptiPlex... I'll give the USB thing a shot.

And honestly? You can just grab Windows 7 easily using this little tool from this site https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/techno...-download-tool.

The thing about this little program is that it pulls the files directly from Microsoft servers—so you don't have to worry about whether it's some sketchy torrent or something similar... right? Once you've got it, you just plug your product key or license straight into the computer.
