I honestly can't stand how people constantly belittle baseball, rugby, or cricket. These are some of the most iconic and widely recognized sports on the planet—easily a million times more popular than water polo or handball. But no, apparently, it's just too much to ask not to mock them.

Back when I was traveling through the States, I ran into this guy who actually said, "It's such a shame handball is even an Olympic sport." Of course, he was dead wrong, but it really highlights how much of a niche sport handball is to the rest of the world...
And before anyone starts with the whole "ignorant American" trope—no, that's not it at all.

Water polo is essentially confined to this corner of Europe, much like handball is strictly a European obsession, whereas these other sports have managed to spread across every single continent on the planet. For God's sake, look at the landscape in the States—the top three sports are clearly football, baseball, and college football. Is it really that hard to see how different the global sporting hierarchy actually is?🙏

I’m starting this thread because of the reasons I laid out in my very first post. Looking back at these 47 posts, it seems like about 30 of you guys have spent the entire time bickering over whether baseball is actually popular in Nicaragua or Papua New Guinea.

Admittedly, the analogy was pretty weak; I was just trying to show how tough baseball can be.
As for basketball, you can always find a corner, wait for the defense to break down, and grab a rebound for an open shot🙂 It’s a fluid game, unlike baseball.

In a sport like this, the raw data is actually pretty tricky to interpret...
Statistics just can't capture the massive amount of other factors that define greatness, especially in Formula 1. You look at some of those absolute legends who never actually snagged a championship title, yet they’re still held in the highest regard by everyone in the paddock.
And honestly, because pure numbers miss so much of the nuance, I think the respect from former and current Formula 1 drivers—who have openly called him the greatest to ever sit in a cockpit—carries way more weight than any spreadsheet ever could.

As far as I'm concerned, the most overrated guy is an Englishman named David Beckham.

I mean, sure, his marketing impact is huge, but looking at it strictly from a sporting perspective, he isn't anything special. I'll give him credit for his free kicks, but let's be honest, you just can't compare him to someone like Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, or even George Best—and even when you look at other sports, he doesn't hold a candle to David Coulthard.

If you ask me, the hype surrounding Michael Schumacher is wildly overstated. Why did he dominate so consistently? It wasn't just talent; it was having a top-tier car, a world-class crew behind him, and teammates who were more than happy to play support roles and watch his back. Formula 1 is one of those "sports" where luck and the right connections matter just as much as skill. Is it really all that impressive if anyone sitting in the best car on the grid could probably pull off a win?

Back then, Ferrari was leagues ahead of what Red Bull is today, wasn't it? It became painfully obvious this season that even Michael can't do much when he's stuck in an inferior car—though "not much" might actually be an understatement.

I mean, the guy was almost always hovering in that top 10 bracket. He rarely just threw in the towel. To be honest, he was pretty damn consistent.
