Switching from DraftKings... Marathon's limits are trash. You can't even put down a decent amount on certain games

I am certainly aware of that limitation, however, I am not currently wagering large sums of money, and since they offer the most competitive odds on tennis, their platform remains perfectly suitable for my current needs.

jadesailor said:So I had my PayPal set up in dollars, and since I couldn't just switch the currency over, I went through the whole process of closing the account so I could open a fresh one in euros. Now, I'm totally locked out because it says my account is frozen, and when I try to sign up again using the same email, it tells me I already have an account. Anyone know what the deal is?

edit: As far as I can tell, they won't let me use the same email address—which is beyond stupid, honestly, because now they’re definitely going to give me grief about not being able to fund my transfers from the old account.
edit2: They won't even let me use the same phone number either. Who are these clowns?

It's not that they're idiots; it's just that you aren't playing by the rules, so don't act surprised when things go sideways... Just hit up Customer Service and explain exactly what you were trying to do (because, let's be real, what you're doing right now is a direct violation of their T&C). If they can link your old profile to the new one, I might even be able to help you get the new account verified on the spot. You'll be able to reuse your old email for the new account once you clear it with them—just make sure you have a backup email ready to go in the meantime. Same goes for your phone number; once they "wipe" the old account, you can use the new one as if the old one never existed.

Walter Edwards said:The issue isn't that they are being incompetent, but rather that you aren't following the established protocols, which naturally leads to these complications. I suggest you reach out to Customer Service and explain your situation, because what you are attempting right now actually violates their Terms and Conditions. If you provide them with both your old and new account details, they can likely verify the new account immediately. You should be able to reuse your original email address on the new account once everything is coordinated with them, though I would recommend having a backup email ready just in case. This applies to your phone number as well, since once they officially decommission your old account, you can register the new one as if the previous one never existed.

I appreciate your response. I was simply following the instructions provided on how to change my currency, which stated that I needed to close my current account and open a new one in the desired currency. Based on my understanding of English, I selected "close account," believing that was the correct procedure. Regardless, I will get in touch with them shortly.

Anyone else recently opened a Bet365 account? How long did you guys have to wait for the postal verification?

Opened mine about 15 days ago and still nothing. Do they just send the letter automatically after you sign up, or do you actually have to request it?

Over this past year, they haven't just been sending it out automatically; you actually have to step up and request it yourself! Or, at least, that’s certainly been my experience, because they didn't send mine, yet a good friend of mine over in Germany received theirs after only two days! Isn't that just peculiar? Of course, you do have several other ways to handle the verification process if you prefer.

I've looked everywhere. Where am I supposed to request it?

If you head over to your Postal Verification and then look through the text, you should see an option that says (Request new PVC). Once you click on that, they might just send it right out to you! Just keep in mind that sometimes these things can take a little while to process, so don't be surprised if there's a bit of a wait.

Is it just me, or are the limits over at Marathon kind of pathetic? I mean, from what I can tell, they’ve got probably the best tennis odds out there, but then they go and mess everything up with these tiny limits. It's such a drag.

It truly depends on the specific market, though from my experience, the live betting limits seem to hover around $50—sometimes even less—on Challenger events, whereas the ATP markets allow for more. When you are constructing a parlay, the system generally displays the maximum allowable stake, and you will notice that this limit tends to increase as the match start time approaches. As for how they handle direct account restrictions, I cannot say for certain, but I am currently facing my own frustrations. Four days ago, I submitted my ID and a bank statement to complete the verification process they requested, specifically so they could update my Skrill email address for deposits and withdrawals. To this day, I have received absolutely no response. When I reached out via their live chat, I was simply told they lacked the authority to assist and that I must wait for an email reply. In my estimation, such a lack of communication is quite unprofessional; despite the fact that they offer superior odds, this level of service is a significant deterrent.

When Marathon is such a fantastic platform, have you ever actually wondered why—even though they’re constantly sitting right at the top of those odds comparison lists—serious bettors still tend to drift away from them?

Why don't you just go ahead and ask Papaloukas (Facebook, blog) which sportsbook he actually prefers? 🙂

Honestly, the man spouts such utter nonsense, acting as if he simply "can't wrap his head around" the idea that anyone would ever place more than $50 or $100 on a single parlay!

In his eyes, we’re all just reckless gamblers who are perfectly willing to take the food right out of our families' mouths just to place a bet. (And I should clarify, those are his words, not mine!)

About two years ago, I was running Bet365 and Marathon side-by-side...

Back then, Bet365 had this reputation for being just for casual players—the kind that limits you almost immediately...

But compared to Marathon? They're practically in a different league—honestly, worlds apart. You can actually play seriously on Bet365, whereas at Marathon, you get a few weeks before they spot you and say goodbye...

And you don't even need a winning profile for that to happen. I was basically breaking even—maybe even slightly down—after playing there for about two months, yet they still limited me to $1 bets... mind you, I wasn't breaking any rules, wasn't hunting for errors in the odds, nothing...

I was just following my own system—increasing my stakes a bit more than your average bettor, though I was nowhere near high-roller territory...

Hold on a second—what is even the POINT of a sportsbook limiting you just because you’re actually winning?!? Isn't being in the green the whole damn goal for every single player out there? Like, seriously—are you telling me that at some of these online books, the only way they'll let you keep playing is if you're losing money?!? It honestly blows my mind how these places even stay in business. I mean, does anyone actually sit there and think, "Yeah, sure, I'd love to play, but only if I'm guaranteed to lose"... because that sounds absolutely insane to me.

Sportsbooks like Marathon work perfectly for tipsters—like those guys on our most famous site (you know the ones)—because they usually offer higher odds than other books. It makes their stats look way better than they actually are. Everyone knows the deal with that place regarding account limits and all that nonsense, so the "risk" isn't even real, but who cares? As long as they can pump up their winning percentages. In reality, no serious bettor can play there for long without getting flagged, yet they keep pushing it. They don't limit 🙂

I can't imagine anyone actually wanting to bet just to lose...

That's why every legit betting community site has tabs on the side specifically for this...

lists of actual solid sportsbooks
lists of joke books that limit your action
and total garbage books

Pinnacle and SBOBET will never limit you
plus Bet365 has stepped up their game big time—they're easily the biggest names globally and nobody touches them when it comes to live betting

And don't even get me started on the whole "account limiting" excuse, because everyone knows that's total nonsense for this specific bookie; it's just a convenient lie to cover their tracks. They push it constantly just to inflate their numbers, even though anyone playing for real knows you can't survive on a platform like that for long without getting flagged. Unlike them, they don't restrict 🙂

Nah, they're just clever enough to dodge the restrictions entirely 😁 😬

SBO is decent enough, though I have to admit, they can be a real pain in the neck sometimes.

When it comes to Mexican basketball, I usually cap my action at about $65.

I really made a massive blunder by signing up for the IMF. I was under the impression—based on what everyone says, anyway—that their limits were huge, but then I go to place an NHL wager and they're capping me at a measly $10!

Pinnacle is absolutely my top pick, without question. If I had to nitpick, their coverage isn't quite as deep and their live betting interface leaves a bit to be desired, but since Bet365 is the gold standard for that sort of thing, they actually complement each other perfectly, don't they?

If I could just track down a bookmaker that offers plenty of live ITF matches—and no, I don't mean Bet365—everything would be absolutely perfect!

I just stumbled onto something really sketchy...
Basically, I was going through my betting history—just adding some new data—and I noticed that the match I bet on back on December 6th, which was part of the top tier women's league here in the US, was actually POSTPONED (!!!!!)... yet my bet was settled as a loss, and I had a pretty significant live stake on it 😲

I'm looking at Soccerway—it's a solid, reputable site that tracks all kinds of obscure global leagues
.
I'm not quite sure how to verify this fully. I checked the USSF website, but they mostly just deal with the national team... there's no direct contact info or anything useful listed 🤔

If this turns out to be true, then my gut feeling about Bet365 might be right—they sometimes settle live bets on matches that seem incredibly suspicious
.

I know the moderators are probably going to come after me again, but honestly, there have been way too many "friendly" matches lately that seem rigged for the books—some of the stats occurring are just statistically impossible—but anyway, I won't get into that again...

So, can anyone help me figure out this "problem"
?
The match in question was

Angel City FC - Portland Thorns FC

It's weird... the schedule says Dec 6th, but it was postponed...

And yet, I distinctly remember watching it like thirty minutes ago—I recall Angel City FC scoring two quick goals early on, and I placed an over 3.5 first-half goals bet around the 20-minute mark, which I lost...
I even think I remember the final score being 3:0...

🤔🤔🤔
