Are these proteins actually worth the money, or is it just hype? I'm looking at their website right now and wondering what they'd actually recommend...

I’d suggest grabbing some Optimum Nutrition. Honestly, they're solid—tastes great, doesn't break the bank, and mixes really smoothly. I just finished an entire two-pound tub of the chocolate flavor and moved on to vanilla. The only thing I've noticed is that the vanilla seems to foam up a bit more than the chocolate did...

Are you talking about these?

What about these ones?

And how long does a 5lb tub actually last you?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure about the first one you mentioned, but I haven't really looked into the others

If you've got a 5lb tub, that's about 71 scoops if you're doing the math. If you're hitting the gym four times a week and just taking one scoop after each session, that container should last you roughly four and a half months.

I was planning on taking this twice a day, every single day......

But honestly, if I don't take it right after my workout, I don't think it'll actually do anything for me.

That should basically count as a solid meal for you... but if you do the math, 2.3kg works out to about 71 scoops, so just check your numbers. Otherwise, if you noticed, that shop over there has a discount running on MVP products right now, so you might as well take advantage of it 😁

I honestly feel like if I only take it after a workout, it’s not even doing much for me.

It definitely works. You just have to actually eat enough food. I don't get why everyone treats whey like it's some kind of magic potion... at the end of the day, it's just food.
A 5lb tub of protein usually lasts me about half a year.😁

Post-workout is definitely the golden window for this stuff, but if you’ve got the budget, grabbing it with your first meal in the morning is a game changer. It also makes for a killer on-the-go snack when you're heading to the office, campus, or hitting the road and don't have time to pack a full meal.

Guess I'll just go ahead and grab this Optimum Nutrition then...

So some guy hits me up the other day asking... he wants to buy some whey and wants to know how long it takes to actually see results once he starts drinking it.☕🤦

I’ve had people see me drinking a shake and straight up attack me, accusing me of being on steroids and saying I’m gonna wreck my health. Like, buddy, I'm just drinking protein, calm down. XD

How many scoops are you guys actually throwing in?

Sometimes I’ll just do 1.5, but lately... honestly, I've been hitting it with 2 scoops more often than not.

I once had some guy corner me just because he saw me drinking a shake. He started lecturing me about how I was basically on steroids and was going to drop dead from it. Hilarious. I sent him straight back to his hometown 😁

I don't know. Maybe do some digging online? There are all these theories about how much protein your body can actually process, all that nonsense... honestly, I just figure one scoop of whey is plenty.

I used to stick to one and a half scoops, but lately, I've been bumping it up to two.

I don't know, just go read up on it online. There are all these endless debates about exactly how many grams of protein the body can actually process at once—just a bunch of nonsense if you ask me. At the end of the day, a single scoop of whey is plenty.

When misinformation starts spreading like wildfire, I can't just sit back and watch. Someone has to step in.🙄

He’ll look at the label and see 30g of protein, sure. But if you actually bother to use your brain, it’s pretty obvious that number is just fluff.

You didn't even specify which protein you're using or your timing. It would actually be helpful if we knew your body weight and training routine, especially if you're slamming this stuff post-workout.

It all boils down to body weight, obviously—not counting any muscle mass.

I only drink one, and strictly after my workout.

If he goes looking for it, he’ll find they claim it has 30g of protein, but if you actually bother to use your brain for a second, it becomes pretty obvious that such a number is basically meaningless.
You didn't actually mention which protein you're using or when you're taking it, and honestly, wouldn't it be helpful if we knew your body weight and training routine too, especially if you're hitting it post-workout?

Honestly, it all comes down to your body weight—assuming we're talking about lean mass, of course.

Personally, I just stick to one shake, and that’s strictly after my workout.

I'm with you on that.

"Regarding your second point—the idea that the human body can only process 30 grams of protein per meal—I’d love to see you back that up with some actual scientific data. Just a heads-up: I don't consider the "Mickey Mouse Almanac" to be a peer-reviewed source. Seriously, what do you think happens when you sit down to a 10-ounce steak containing roughly 60 grams of protein? Are you suggesting that the first 4 ounces and 30 grams are perfectly absorbed and assimilated, but then a magic wand waves at the 31st gram, turning the rest into glucose, fat, or just waste? Different proteins digest at different rates, but whether it’s that steak, chicken, fish, eggs, milk, soy, or a scoop of Optimum Nutrition, they all eventually break down into amino acids—either free-form or as peptides—which can then be used to synthesize new, biologically vital proteins like skin, hair, organs, or MUSCLES!!!

By Miloš Sarčev

Based on everything we've discussed, you can pretty much crank your daily protein intake up to 3 or 4 grams per kilogram of body weight without having to worry about that "extra" stuff magically turning into fat—unless, of course, you’re planning on ignoring everything else? What happens if we don't actually manage to push the body into a caloric surplus by ramping up our intake like that? Just a quick reminder for anyone doing the math: one gram of protein packs in exactly four calories.

If he goes looking for the label, sure, it’ll claim there’s 30g of protein in there—but honestly? If you actually take a second to use your brain... you'll realize that number is basically just a total toss-up. It's kind of meaningless, really...

You didn't even mention which protein you're actually using or when you're timing it... and honestly, it’d be a huge help if we knew your body weight and what your training split looks like—especially if you're slamming this stuff right after a workout...

Honestly, the whole answer pretty much boils down to how much you weigh—but I’m talking lean mass here, obviously... not just some random number on a scale.

Honestly, I just stick to one shake—and that's only right after I hit the gym... nothing else really moves the needle for me.

I've been scouring the internet for answers, but honestly... it’s just everyone shouting their own opinions into the void. Everyone thinks they're an expert, you know? One guy says this, another swears by that—it's just a mess of conflicting nonsense out there...

Some people swear by the 30g rule, you know? But then I see this one guy at my gym—total meathead, really—just knocking back a single scoop, while his buddy right next to him is absolutely crushing two scoops like it’s nothing... honestly, who knows anymore?

So, I'm just over here knocking back some Optimum Nutrition Whey... specifically that chocolate flavor... which, honestly, is basically like drinking a melted chocolate milkshake if you don't mess up the mix... turns out it's actually decent... anyway... 😁 ...and I just toss it back right after my workout.

So, I’m sitting here weighing in at like 154 lbs—yeah, you read that right—and standing about 5'11"... basically just a walking beanpole at this point...

My MVP Pro Whey order finally showed up today... they even tossed in a free protein bar and some scented boric acid😂

So, what's the deal with the scoops? Is one per meal overkill?🤷
