Henry Evans3 said:My MVP order finally showed up today, specifically that Pro Whey... and they even threw in a free protein chocolate bar and some scented boric acid😂

So what's the deal with the scoops though? Is one scoop per meal actually enough?🤷

I mean, maybe, but I doubt it's gonna cut it for someone weighing like 300 pounds.

Some people swear by 30g, while at my gym, I see one guy down a single scoop and another guy slamming two.

Anyway, I'm sticking with Optimum Nutrition Whey (chocolate 😁 ) right after my workouts.

I'm about 155 lbs standing 5'11".

One scoop should be plenty for you, but don't forget to grab two scoops of the grape flavor.

Try taking 0.5g of whey per kg of body weight, and pair it with 1g of glucose per kg of lean body mass. If you're cutting, you can cut that glucose intake in half to 0.5g per kg of total body weight.

Hey everyone!

So, a few days ago I picked up some Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey. I found a listing on Craigslist for $133 (2.3 kg), and since I’ve never actually bought this specific tub before, I wasn't entirely sure what the packaging was supposed to look like in person. Honestly? This thing looks sketchy as hell. The print quality on the label is pretty terrible, and to top it off, that "sealed for your protection" sticker wasn't even stuck down.

All in all, I feel like I might have just thrown my money down the drain. Should I be genuinely worried here?? It didn't even cross my mind that there were actually fake protein powders out there floating around!?!?

Or maybe I'm just being paranoid and overthinking it 😕. Let me know what you guys think.

Never bought this specific stuff before, so I don't really know what the packaging is supposed to look like up close... but honestly, the tub I got looks super sketchy. The label print quality is pretty garbage, and that "sealed for your protection" thing? Totally wasn't sealed.

Bottom line, I feel like I might've just bought a total lemon. Should I be freaking out?? It didn't even cross my mind that there was such a thing as fake protein?!?

Or maybe I'm just being paranoid 😕 Let me know what you guys think.

There are definitely people out there making a living off this kind of scam.

They just slap a "Whey" label on some random container, and who knows what's actually inside... (I haven't personally run into it 😁 ) ...but yeah...

Anyway, whenever I grab Optimum Nutrition Whey, it always comes in this tub:

Check the first image, then scroll through the rest.

Maybe you're just overthinking it, but it's hard to give you much help here... honestly, your best bet would be to take it to one of those gym rats at your local fitness center who drinks Optimum Nutrition Whey all the time and let them give it a taste test. That's about it 😁 A little ridiculous, I know, but there it is 🙂 👍

I wanted to follow up with a few more thoughts on the Optimum Nutrition powder... I’ve been mixing 30 grams with about a cup of milk, and I have to say, the texture is great—it doesn't foam up at all, and the chocolate flavor is actually quite decent. Compared to the other brands I used to grab, like MusclePharm or similar stuff, those would always leave me with a head of bubbles. With this one, there's virtually zero foam.

How does it work on your end? Are you getting any foam when you shake it up? I'm really just trying to figure out if I've got the genuine article here or if I accidentally picked up some knockoff. 🙂

Thanks for the help.

Best,

Optimum doesn't even foam much and tastes great👍

I'm using Multipower for now, but honestly, it's nothing compared to Optimum.
Once I finish this tub, I'm heading over to Canada to grab a 10lb bag—it's the best deal out there.🙏

Casey Jackson said:A little more on the Optimum stuff.... I've been mixing it with milk—about 30 grams into a cup—and I gotta say, there’s zero foam and the chocolate taste is actually pretty solid. The proteins I used to grab before (Ultimate, Multipower, whatever...) would get all foamy and gross. This one stays pretty flat.

How's it working for you? Getting any foam when you shake it up? Just trying to figure out if I'm looking at the real deal or some knockoff... 🙂

Thanks man.

Later!

Hmm, yeah, the Optimum doesn't really foam much—nothing crazy—but I did hear the vanilla flavor tends to bubble up way more than the others.

Anyway, you should probably start mixing your protein with water because honestly, it's just better—here's a link that breaks down all the reasons why...
At:

Plus, grab some dextrose from CVS or Walgreens; it's got the glucose you need, packs a vitamin punch, and makes the protein taste way better than using milk. 😉
$3.75 Just go with 500g (same amount as your protein scoop) ...

And don't be afraid to throw in about 12 to 16 ounces of water.

@nimblegull23, what's the damage for 4.7kg over in Canada?

👍 Well, if that's the case, there's nothing to worry about. It’s the real deal!

@redranger82/">@@redranger82 if I just drive out to pick up that 93.89 EUR order from the local post office myself,
it feels like a pretty sweet deal for a 4.7kg tub. 👍

I honestly don't get why everyone is making such a massive deal out of that foam.
Does anyone actually have a real reason why it’s either a problem or perfectly fine?
It feels like people just hear something through the grapevine and then start running their mouths without knowing anything...🙄

Honestly, this one is my absolute go-to, even after cycling through five or six different brands lately...

I’ve got one of those shaker bottles with the little mesh screen inside, and man, it foams up like crazy every single time regardless of what brand I’m using—pretty sure it's definitely because of that mesh part—so now I'm just wondering if you guys are getting a ton of foam normally or what's the deal with yours

Look, maybe you haven't messed around with Multipower before, because if you had, you’d actually know what I mean when I say it foams up. You seriously can't just chug it immediately—you have to wait for the bubbles to settle, otherwise, you're basically going to choke yourself. 😁

With Dym, it gets a little foamy, but just a tiny bit, you know? It’s not a huge deal. It settles down almost instantly.

For me, Scitec Nutrition always had the most foam—but honestly, that was because the flavor was just spot on 😁

The one from MVP isn't really foaming much, maybe just a little bit...

Who cares about foam? I just toss some milk, flaxseed oil, a spoonful of honey, frozen blueberries, and a scoop of Optimum Nutrition into the blender and whip it until it's smooth. Honestly, it tastes great. 😍

vividorca453 said:I've been training for about a year now and I've seen some decent muscle growth. However, two weeks ago I started using Scitec Nutrition Mass. The issue is—and this is a bit of a nuisance—my stomach absolutely hates them; every single time I have a shake, I end up feeling nauseous. Does anyone have any idea why this happens? Other guys using the same protein haven't mentioned anything like this.

..well, you might want to look into those premium products from Inkospor instead. You can find them at the local fitness supply shops; personally, I think they're fantastic, and honestly, all the guys in my gym circle feel the same way.

Harold Booth68 said:Since this thread is moving at a pretty frantic pace—honestly, I can barely keep up with the notifications—I figured I’d just jump right in and pose a question to you.

Is there actually any meaningful difference between various types of glutamine? I’ve been looking at the options from CCA—or rather, the equivalent stuff you'd find at GNC or Optimum Nutrition—and I can't quite tell if they're all just different ways of repackaging the same powder. $53 So, if I’m following this logic correctly—and I suspect I might be overthinking it, which is my default setting—we are looking at half a kilo... or rather, about 1.1 pounds, for those of us using the standard system here in the States. And then we have one unit weighing roughly 880 pounds compared to that same 1.1-pound starting point? Or am I misreading the math entirely? It feels like a bit of a leap, much like trying to jump from a casual jog in Central Park straight into a marathon without any prep work. What exactly are we calculating here?

...there's nothing quite like it. Not even a pair of high-end leather boots from Allen Edmonds could compete. $167 They aren't quite the same as the ones from—well, you know the ones. $333Raw material sourcing, powder micronization, absorption rates... all that talk isn't just empty noise—it’s the reality of the situation. You truly get what you pay for. Honestly, you shouldn't skimp when it comes to supplements—we've all made the mistake of trying to cut corners at the start, only to realize later that cheap stuff is basically just expensive filler.
