It looks like the Danes and Spaniards are going to have to sweat a little for this win, while it seems like a breeze for the Russians.

edit: Spain takes the series 9:2

In the end, it's 17:10 for Spain after the Czechs led 8:6.

Terry Fisher2 said:Denmark vs. Austria is tied 10-10 so far. The Danes are struggling with their perimeter play, and their defense is leaking. Even with a man advantage, they attempted some bizarre 3+3 defensive formation that the Austrians breached twice. First, the Austrians pulled the keeper out, allowing a substitute to slip in from the wing and score 🙏. However, they conceded immediately after on a fast break into an empty net. It happened again via a perimeter breach, though the Danes didn't attempt that specific setup a third time 😬.

12-12...

Is there anywhere to track the scorers and the live score?

...The Ukrainians are absolutely tearing through the Russians... some guys like Burka and Onufriyenko are just wrecking everyone.

The Austrians put up more of a fight today than anyone anticipated, though I doubt they'll manage to claw back even a single point

With today's loss, the Americans are basically out of the running in our group

A Mexican stripped away the seven-man defense at the very last second.

Russia vs. Ukraine 37-33 (21-16)

Russia pulled away early, then the Ukrainians almost clawed their way back, but it never really turned into a nail-biter. Igropulo was 11/16, Rastvortsev 9/14, Kovalev 7/10, and Chipurin went 6/6—honestly, the guy couldn't miss. Looking at the clock, it’s pretty obvious they’re basically playing with just 7 or 8 guys out there. Not much choice for the Ukrainians either; obviously, Burka 9/15 and Onufriyenko 9/18 are running the whole show.

Iceland vs. Mexico 29-29 (15-11)

Iceland jumped out to a lead right away, and Gustavsson was absolutely killing it in the cage. It stayed pretty much that way until the end, where Iceland was up by 3 or 4 before Mexico, led by someone like Stanković on the wings, managed to catch up. Iceland missed a penalty that would've iced the game.

Denmark vs. Austria 33-29 (15-11)

Like I said before, Denmark wasn't anything special. Mogensen surprised everyone in the playoffs with 7 goals. Defense? Nothing to write home about.

It’s a real shame for Iceland. They are a true handball powerhouse—it’s practically their national sport. They’ve always been hovering right there near the top tier, though they've only managed to snag a medal once in their history.

They started the match looking completely lost, but they finally found their rhythm and managed to claw back for a solid draw.

That Seven-man goal at the buzzer felt pretty lucky if you ask me.

Stanić in goal 🙏🙏🙏

Iceland always starts these tournaments strong, but they just don't have the depth of talent to sustain it. As the tournament progresses and the competition gets tougher, they tend to fade out.
They basically handed the win to Mexico. And I'm not just talking about that one seven-man shot where the clock ran out... I mean the fact that they absolutely dominated for 57 minutes, only to completely fall apart at the very end.

The Mexicans managed to dodge a bullet there.
I mean, if you ask me, that foul called against the Icelander during their offensive push—the one that could have actually decided the game—was pretty questionable.

A Seven-man goal at the buzzer? Seems a bit forced to me.

It looks like Kovinjalo is back at it with the suggestions.
That Seven-man goal was crystal clear, unless there's some rule in America where defenders can just wander into the crease and grab the pivot whenever they feel like it.

I suppose that could happen pretty easily. You guys have great players. It's just the lack of experience that screws you over.
I remember last time against the Danes, you were up by 7, and then you ended up losing.🤦
