I finally managed to wipe that junk out by messing with the ownership settings. I kept getting that same damn error message because the CMD window refuses to list every single file at once—it’s infuriating. If I don't go subfolder by subfolder to force the permissions, it just hangs, especially when there are thousands of files to process. You have to take ownership of every tiny little file individually. I cleared about 10GB of bloat off my C: drive that even Unlocker couldn't touch. It’s honestly unbelievable that you can't handle one simple task like this. 🤷

It reminds me of a buddy of mine. He’d always say, "No, it won't work, it won't do that," acting like he was some kind of expert just because he had a computer before me. I’d step in, do it, and suddenly it works perfectly. So, how? Honestly, it's easier to just get it done than to sit through a lecture explaining why it shouldn't be possible.

If you've got a registered version of Malwarebytes, it can actually wipe out a ton of junk that usually just sits there stuck 🙂

Sure, if we're talking about actual malware or something similar, then fine. But if there’s nothing actually wrong, that's a whole different story. 👍

Look, I can see for myself that I'm getting the full 4 GB... there's no way it says that if it isn't actually working. -.- And honestly, I don't feel like apologizing to anyone because I know what I'm seeing, and nobody can tell me otherwise when they haven't even looked at my screen. Btw, you guys just posted two pictures of Windows. Also, I had a quick question—I did a little upgrade on my rig yesterday, tossed in an Nvidia gtx 260 and a 1 TB hard drive, but my score is still stuck at 5.9... maybe that's because I'm still running everything off my old 320GB main drive? That's where I got the 5.9 score, even though my graphics card scored higher...

Your PC sees all 4 GB, but it’s only actually using 3.2 GB—someone probably mentioned that already. It shows AVAILABLE at 3,129 MB, with 2,537 MB being FREE.

The final score is basically determined by your weakest link, which in your case is the hard drive, sitting at a 5.9. 🙂

From where I'm sitting, I see a full 4 GB being utilized. It isn't possible for the system to report usage if it simply isn't happening. -.- Furthermore, I feel no obligation to offer apologies to anyone here; I am looking at my own screen, and unless someone has actually witnessed my setup firsthand, they cannot convince me otherwise. By the way, you've provided two images of Windows. On another note, I performed some hardware upgrades yesterday—installed an Nvidia gtx 260 and a 1 TB hard drive—yet my score is still stuck at 5.9. Perhaps this is because my primary 320GB drive is still in place? That drive yielded a 5.9, even though the new graphics card should have pushed that number higher.

To be brief... I will say it again, you cannot utilize the full 4 GB on an x86 osa.

From what I can see on my end, I am getting a full 4 GB, and there is really no way for the system to report those numbers if they aren't actually working. Honestly, I don't feel the need to apologize to anyone because I know what I'm seeing right in front of me, and it’s hard to argue with visual proof. By the way, you've shared two different images of Windows here. Also, I have a quick question regarding an upgrade I did yesterday; I installed an Nvidia gtx 260 and added a 1 TB hard drive, yet my score is still stuck at 5.9. I wonder if that might be because I am still running my main OS from my old 320GB drive where I originally got that 5.9 rating? Interestingly, my graphics card actually pulled a higher score.

As someone else has already pointed out, it might be a good idea to check exactly how much memory is actually available to you before you try to defend your position to the people in this thread. ☕

Look, I’ve got 753MB available right now, which means my total capacity is 2GB—with the graphics card taking up 1.75GB. That "available" number isn't some fixed constant,

The real issue here is that 32-bit architecture was designed back when nobody even had a single gigabyte of RAM, let alone more. Back then, hitting 3.25GB was considered massive.

I'm trying to reinstall Windows 7, but I've hit a wall—it just won't boot. It keeps giving me this "Cannot boot from CD" error. The weird thing is, when I did this a little while ago, I didn't even have to deal with booting; it was almost like I just ran the installer right from my desktop like it was some basic program or something. Has anyone else run into this headache before? Any ideas on how I can get past this?

Is the BIOS actually configured to prioritize booting from the DVD drive?

Is there any guarantee this DVD is even bootable?

Still haven't cracked this one, please help me out

So, I've run into a bit of a wall. Every time I try to copy a specific file, this little window pops up saying: "Access Denied!"
It tells me: "You need administrator permission to copy this file"
I don't get it at all... and then I'm stuck with three choices:
Continue, Skip, Cancel
But when I hit Continue, I just get another pop-up like this one:

Just for context, I'm running a single user account on Windows 7. What am I supposed to do to actually get this file moved?

Where exactly are you trying to copy that file to? And does your user account actually have admin privileges?

Actually, I already got it sorted. I can boot now. It was a total pain in the neck, but I finally cracked it.

I'm moving it to the D drive. I've only got one account on this machine and it says I'm the administrator...

It’s the exact same story—that whole "take ownership" nonsense from the last post on the previous page.

Are you just being dense or can you not read?

Noah Morgan34 said:Thanks, I'll give it a shot. Even when I tried changing the ownership without the program, it didn't work.

Update:Tried it. Still nothing. That same error message keeps popping up...

Ugh, so what now? Are we actually going to resort to personal insults? Is his logic really "it didn't work for me because I don't know how, so how could it have worked for me?" Seriously?

Hey everyone. So, I've been running Windows 7 Ultimate for a long time—installed it on dozens of laptops and desktops over the years without much fuss. Today, I picked up this machine

I went through the whole installation process smoothly, triggered the activation, waited for the restart, and then... nothing. The system just won't boot. I tried reinstalling everything using the latest loader, but it crashed again. Usually, if I try to activate a newer laptop with an older loader, it fails—but once I switch to the newest version, it typically works fine. Today, though, even the latest version failed me.
In a desperate attempt to fix things, I decided to install Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 with last month's updates. It installs, but when I get to the activation stage, it just hits me with a wall of errors.

If anyone else has run into this kind of headache, I’d appreciate some advice. Thanks. 🙂

If you're looking for help with piracy, you're going to have to go hunt down some other forum for that kind of thing.
