So, you’re pulling a 5 for the processor. I noticed a few other people getting roughly that same score on that specific benchmark
which makes my own score of 3.7 feel a little underwhelming, if I'm being honest.
I see you've got 6 GB of RAM under the hood; I'm sitting at 4 GB, so I wonder if that's what's dragging my rating down, or does it even really move the needle?
To give you the full rundown, I'm running a Dell Inspiron with 4 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce, an Intel Core i3 380, and a 640 GB Western Digital hard drive.
The OS is Windows 7 Enterprise.
Is a score as low as 3.7 actually typical for a setup like this, or am I missing something?

George Peterson3 said:So, you’re giving that processor a solid 5 out of 10? Honestly, that sounds about right to me, because from what I've seen in other reviews lately, most people seem to be landing on pretty much the exact same score.
I have to admit, looking back at that test, my 3.7 GPA feels just a little bit underwhelming to me.
I noticed you've got 6 GB of RAM under the hood! I'm currently running on just 4 GB myself, and I was wondering if that might be dragging down my performance scores, or if it really doesn't make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things?
So, I’m currently working with this Dell Inspiron laptop that’s got 4 GB of RAM, an Intel Core i3-380 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card, and a 640 GB Western Digital hard drive.
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time lately diving back into the world of Windows 7 Enterprise, and I have to say, there is just something incredibly reliable about it that modern operating systems seem to struggle to replicate. It reminds me of those old mornings when I used to set up my first workstation back in college; everything felt so much more predictable and steady. Even though we are constantly being pushed toward newer iterations, there is a certain functional elegance to the Enterprise version that makes you wonder if we lost something along the way in the pursuit of constant updates.
Is a score of 3.7 actually considered normal for a setup like this, or am I just being too hard on myself?

I honestly feel like that rating is a little harsh, don't you think? It feels like something just isn't quite adding up here. 🤷

I’m getting that same impression myself, though I can’t quite put my finger on why exactly.
By the way, this laptop is barely two months old, so everything seems to be running perfectly fine.

He’s got a 6.8 rating on his processor—I don't know where you're seeing a 5 coming from. 😕

Benjamin King2 said:He actually clocked his processor at a 6.8, so where on earth did you see a 5? 😕

Fair point, I definitely mixed up those numbers.
Now I’m genuinely curious—why in the world am I getting such a low score for the exact same processor?🤷

Take a look at the Windows 7 Experience index for this processor—here’s the link: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-C...r.37085.0.html—which implies something isn't quite right on your end.

It definitely isn't helping much, especially since I can see even over there the minimum score is sitting at around 6.8.
I honestly have no clue why it would be handing out such a low rating right now.😕

I finally tracked down what was causing the issue.,
It turns out the "Quiet Office" setting was toggled on, which explains why
the score was stuck at 3.7. I switched that off, and now the processor is hitting a 6.7.

I can't figure out this issue that's been driving me crazy since yesterday morning. I've tried everything—NOD32, Malwarebytes, CCleaner, even a full system reset after scanning—but nothing works. There's this process in the Resource Monitor called system NT kernel & system that's clearly choking my CPU. I have no idea what it actually is. I've tried Googling it, but none of the results make any sense to me. I even attempted to manually suspend the process, but the second I click confirm, the entire computer freezes up and I have to hard reboot.

Here is a link showing exactly what's happening on my screen:

I can't play Battlefield 3 with this mess. Even on low settings, I was getting about 25 fps before this CPU hogging started, but now I'm struggling to hit 5 fps. Honestly, the bigger issue is that I'm using a stock CPU cooler and it's running at 70 degrees all day long because of this crap. Sorry for the language, but it's frustrating.

Can anyone help me out if you know what this is?

I thought this was the right spot because of the Windows 7 thread, but fine, I'll just start a new one over there.

In your opinion, is there actually any point in installing Windows 7 Professional over Ultimate?

So, I've run into a bit of a headache.🙂 Every time I try to copy a specific file, this little window pops up saying: "Access Denied!"
It tells me I need to provide administrator permission just to move the damn thing.
Honestly, I don't get it at all... 🤷 And then I'm stuck looking at three options:
Continue, Skip, or Cancel.
When I hit Continue, I just get hit with another pop-up like this one:

🙂 The thing is, I'm running a single user account on Windows 7. What am I supposed to do to actually get this file copied?

Maybe give this little tool a shot, might help!

And here are some tips that might work too:

Thanks. I'll try it, though even when I tried changing the ownership manually without the software, nothing worked...

Update: Tried it. Still getting that same error message...

Arthur Lewis2 said:that part's from some game crack, Paul...🤣

Don't give me that. Why didn't you just answer the question then?

Any suggestions? I was hoping to get this set up today...🙄

It needs to have full ownership, one hundred percent. Try it folder by folder—don't touch a thing until you see what's actually happening in the CMD window. You might need to go through it file by file or run it multiple times to get it right. Honestly, this stuff wipes things cleaner than Unlocker ever could; it’ll catch everything that 👍

I've tried everything with the ownership settings, but nothing works. It just keeps throwing that same error back at me. Help please...🙂
