I guess you could probably just use a Windows 7 disc, then pick the Recovery option at the start and run FixBoot or something like that 😉

Here's a step-by-step guide with pictures 🙂

There are 51 pages of posts here, which is way too many to scroll through one by one... so maybe a quick question? What’s actually better in the end, 32-bit or 64-bit? I guess there's some kind of difference, right? And would a 64-bit version even work on my Intel Core 2 Duo at 3.00 GHz?

Does Windows 7 include a built-in utility for transferring files? I feel certain I have moved data before, but the name of the application escapes me. 🤔
I haven't installed any third-party software for this purpose.

Joshua Garcia3, why don't you swing by the chat for a bit since you're already hanging around here? 👍

I need this for an audio transfer. Why am I still unable to get it working?

Just open up the folder containing the files you want to record, select them, and then click "Burn to disc."

I suppose it doesn't matter much, since most people just have these high-end machines their parents bought them, without really understanding the difference between 32 and 64-bit systems

Hey there! I’ve run into a bit of a headache... I recently finished installing Windows 7 64, and now that I’ve picked up a wireless Trust mouse and keyboard combo, everything is falling apart during setup. When I plug it into the USB port on the back, it works for maybe a minute before the whole thing just drops into sleep mode—and then nothing happens at all. If I try the front USB ports instead, the keyboard stays alive, but the mouse refuses to cooperate. A buddy of mine suggested this might be a Windows issue... has anyone else dealt with something like this, or does anyone have a fix? Thanks

How do I go about disconnecting my internet on Windows 7😕
Back when I was using XP, I just hit disable and I was instantly offline.
On Windows 7, I can't seem to find the right setting to click. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It’s essentially the same process as on XP; you just head into the Control Panel and look under Network Connections...

When I plug the receiver into the USB port on the back, everything works for about a minute before it just goes into sleep mode and stays dead. If I try the front USB ports instead, the keyboard works fine, but the mouse won't respond at all. A buddy suggested it might be an issue with my Windows installation—has anyone dealt with something similar or found a fix? Thanks!

Try switching the mouse into device mode and checking its properties; you might find a setting under the Power Management tab causing this—it's likely just a power-saving glitch...

I've got this Sony notebook with a Memory Stick Pro Duo slot.
Back when I was running Windows Vista, plugging the card in worked just fine.
Now that I've moved up to Windows 7, the damn thing won't recognize the card at all.

Someone please help me out here. I need some advice.
Thanks a ton.

Hey there! So, I finally bit the bullet and installed Windows 7 Ultimate today. Everything went smooth enough, I guess, except for one massive headache... now when I open My Computer, all I see is one single hard drive (C:). Back when I was running Windows XP, I had two separate drives (C: and D:). Now I'm stuck with just this one 72 GB partition, whereas before I could actually use about 120 GB total between the two... Is there any way to get that second partition back so I can actually use my full 120 GB of space?? Help me out here, please... :|

Just right-click the Computer-click icon, go to Manage, which opens the Computer Management window, then select Disk Management. From there, you can activate the missing disk and format it as NTFS.

ugh... thanks so much... 🙏🙏
I swear I've looked there a hundred times already, but I kept clicking on Device Manager because it said Manage... 🙂
thanks again... 👍

Thanks so much for any assistance you can provide.

Head over to the official support pages for your specific laptop model and look for updated card reader drivers that are compatible with Windows 7. (Unless there’s some built-in manufacturer app that handles driver updates automatically—which, judging by this, clearly isn't the case here.)

It also wouldn't hurt to run a Windows update first—just in case it hasn't already grabbed the necessary drivers in the background.

You can find more details on this via Google http://www.google.com/search?client=o...utf-8&oe=utf-8

I'm wondering if I can just grab an upgrade from Windows Vista HP 32 to Windows 7 HP online via download, or am I stuck buying a physical DVD? I see the option on the official US Microsoft site, but obviously when I hit checkout, they only list US states. I couldn't find that specific option on any local sites here—everything just points me toward retail stores. Not sure if it's buried somewhere in the fine print, but I'm too exhausted to keep digging. Thanks a ton!

No problem.

Yeah, you're right, but if it doesn't reset to 25-30 days after those 12 days are up, we've got a problem.
