Which version of Microsoft Office actually works on Windows 7? I tried running Office 2003 and it totally tanked on me.

Office 2003 runs fine, and I guess Office 2007 does too.

Picked up a new laptop two days ago.

notebook ASUS N60DP-JX015
MODEL N60DP-JX015KOD 530047
Amd turion2 M300
2.0GHz,4GB DDR2,320GB HDD
16.0“HD,DVD+-RW(DL)
ati X4670HD,1GB,hdmi
wireless
1.3MP web kamera
Free dos
$1700

I went ahead and installed Windows 7 Ultimate on it, but now the whole thing just freezes up constantly, forcing me to do a hard manual reset. It happens during basic stuff, like right-clicking an icon or whenever I'm trying to install some software... Plus, the USB ports seem totally hit-or-miss.
Is this probably a Windows issue or is the hardware itself just junk? I'd really rather not deal with the hassle of returning it to the store if it's just a software glitch...

Thanks

Did you install all the official drivers?

Since we're already running Windows 7 and Office :P
So, I was setting up my sister's new laptop yesterday with Windows 7 Ultimate and Office 2007, and I was wondering if it’s possible to create another toolbar with Office icons at the top?
The first one is just where it normally sits, but I wanted to know if I could have a separate, dedicated toolbar containing all the Office tools?
I seem to remember being able to do that back on Windows XP

Alright, let's cut the nonsense already... the first person to post a question about activation gets a month of paid vacation.

Hey, I've run into a bit of a snag and was wondering if anyone might have some clever advice to offer. All my desktop icons have turned into the exact same image—just one identical icon for everything. The programs themselves still launch, though they don't seem to behave quite right when they open (I’ll admit, I'm a total novice when it comes to computers). I'm running Windows 7, and everything was working perfectly fine until this suddenly started acting up out of nowhere. Does anyone have any ideas?😕😕😕😕:conf used:😕

Honestly, this sounds like you might have picked up a Trojan or some kind of virus. My suggestion would be to run a scan with something like Malwarebytes.
If that doesn't fix it, maybe try a system restore to a date when things were actually working properly🙂

You're being a total pain in the ass😕
instead of actually answering why it works on one PC but fails on the other...

I’m honestly not quite sure where this belongs, so I figured I’d just toss it over here 🙂

So, I was feeling a bit bored earlier and ended up putting together this little Windows 7 theme 🙂

Here is a quick look at the wallpaper included in the theme:

If you want to grab the theme for yourself, you can download it here:

So, how many times are you actually planning on activating those Windows? You mentioned you already installed those Windows on two different machines, right?

Well, that's exactly where the issue is.
I put it on my rig first, then tried it on a buddy's

And it works for him, but it won't work for me.

Look, how many times do I have to explain this? How exactly do you plan on activating the same Windows on two different machines? 🙂 One license covers one computer. Period. Here’s the part from the EULA:

One Copy per Computer. You may install one copy of the software on one computer. That computer is the “licensed computer.”

Maybe it's an academic version of Windows, so it might have a MAK (multi-activation key) 🙂 Though I'm leaning more towards it being a pirated version 😁

I’m running into some issues with Windows... I set my boot order to prioritize the CD drive first when I want to install Windows 7 on this machine... specifically, I pointed it toward the PM-corp CDDVDW drive, but it just won't load. Instead of booting from the disc, I just get stuck staring at a black screen with a blinking cursor—that's it. Any idea what might be causing this? Thanks.

Hehehe, "how does he think"? Well, just like most people... honestly, what are you guys even doing here asking such incredibly stupid questions? Like, everyone buys an OS... give me a break, seriously.☕

I've got an original version of Windows. 🙂

The question is valid because what he's aiming for is actually illegal here in the States. Forum rules. It would probably be a good idea to read that before you hit install.

How can I fix my context menu? Currently, when I right-click on a document or an image, the "Send to" submenu includes a "Bluetooth device" option. This was appearing consistently until I unplugged my wireless dongle and plugged it back in, at which point the option vanished entirely. I am running Windows 7.

Which version of Windows 7 works better for laptops versus desktops?
Basically—should I be using a KMS or a MAK key?

I'm talking about official, licensed Windows 7 setups here—so I have no clue which one to install, MAK or KMS.
