Sweet 🙂 You got Skype or maybe x-fire? Just figured I'd ask so if I get stuck on something again I can hit you up directly instead of cluttering up the boards with more threads...

I don't use any of that stuff, but honestly, just post your question right here. This whole thing is about Windows 7 anyway, so I doubt there's anyone here who isn't more than capable of helping you out. Besides, I don't see why you'd need to go anywhere else. 👍

Alright, just one last thing before I head out. Do you happen to know if there are any specific programs that definitely won't run on 64-bit? Or maybe some games or apps that'll just totally tank... that's all I got. 😁

Look, you're going to have to ask someone who actually uses a 64-bit OS. I haven't personally made the switch. I ended up with the 32-bit version, and since it's doing everything I need it to do, I haven't even bothered testing out the other one. 👍

I am currently using the 64-bit version. Just let me know what you need.

By the way, I left my response regarding Windows 7 or Windows Vista for you.

so I went ahead and installed 64-bit Windows 7 for a buddy of mine

the only thing that gave me grief was
that ESET NOD32 antivirus—it was the 32-bit version (I mean, maybe there's a way to force it, but honestly, who has the energy for that?)
ended up grabbing
the 64-bit ESET NOD32 and it worked fine—installation was smooth as silk

everything else seemed okay. I think even those K-Lite codecs would have worked if I’d just swapped them over to 64-bit
if I remember right, K-Lite usually gives you an option during setup to pick between 32-bit or 64-bit

👍

So, I was wondering—do games, movies, and everything else actually run okay? Like, do you know of any specific software that tends to glitch out or just refuse to work even though everyone uses it all the time? That’s really all I’m looking for. Thanks

I only ran into issues with the stuff I already mentioned... wouldn't know about anything else, honestly.

R1982 says everything runs fine when it comes to gaming—that's what they told me anyway.

And as far as movies go? No problems there at all.

So, I guess I'm just gonna drift over to 64-bit then 😁

Man, I don't know about my luck... out of my 80 posts, like 90% of them are just me asking about some damn problem... just wait a day or two, I'll be posting the issue here, believe me😂

hahahahhahaha

When it comes to posting nothing but problems, honestly? I think I'm even worse than you are. 😂😂😂😂😂

Honestly, about 90% of the stuff people call "popular" runs perfectly fine on 64-bit Windows.

And for those rare cases where something doesn't quite click, there’s almost always an alternative out there that does the job just as well.

That’s actually pretty sweet to hear. Honestly, everything I’ve heard about 64-bit Windows has been so trash that I hadn't even considered making the jump until today 😂 But hey, they didn't really know how to handle framework installations back then anyway, so let's just move on from that ☕

Go with 64-bit. It is a significantly better choice.

86-bit, you say? Is that some kind of third version or what? I mean, seriously...
