I can't help but feel that Renault's development trajectory has been somewhat lackluster lately—neither last season nor this one—though I suppose it could have been significantly worse, so perhaps there is a silver lining here...
In light of that, how can we expect Nelson Piquet Jr. to perform any miracles when he isn't exactly a technical wizard and certainly doesn't have a car capable of magic? It is quite clear that a true genius like Fernando Alonso is the one pulling off absolute wonders with this Renault machine; frankly, any success they manage to scrape together is entirely owed to him. 😁
Anyway, looking at Q3, it seems like something just wasn't clicking for them. Alonso was actually 0.700 seconds slower than Kimi Raikkonen, even though everyone else seemed to be hovering relatively close to the pace.
And poor Felipe Massa is having a rough go of it too; I find myself feeling a bit sympathetic toward him, as I've always had a much greater affinity for him than for Kimi...
Once again, McLaren takes the lead. 🤣
