tralalala, Ford actually clocked in 0.4 seconds faster than the BGP on one of the days, marking the fastest lap seen in Los Angeles this season

Could be down to more rubber on the track or just warmer temperatures, but still, seeing a gap of 0.4 seconds? That’s pretty encouraging, isn't it? 😁

Look, I'm asking you nicely—stop flooding the thread, this isn't the place for that kind of chatter...☕

Maybe there was just more rubber on the track or the weather warmed up a bit, but even so, seeing a 0.4-second gap feels like a glimmer of hope if you're a fan. 😁

😲 He really did "fly" around that circuit...

I actually hopped on here specifically to tell Raymond Ortiz89 to quit talking nonsense, but it looks like you beat me to the punch and already stepped in. 😉

N/A

hitting sub-1.18 today 👍

which is honestly encouraging—we’re seeing pretty solid pace even during those longer stints, too. ☕

N/A

We’re actually dipping below the 1.18 mark today, 👍

which is a relief, especially since our lap times are holding up pretty well during those longer stints. ☕

👍

The immediate issue is sorted, but don't think for a second we're in the clear—there's still a mountain of work ahead, though given how fast this car is evolving... well, let's just say N/A. 🙏

What’s it all worth if they just end up getting crushed by Ford again? I’m genuinely curious to see how Hamilton manages to navigate this season...
It’s such a shame Ferrari wasn't there with them in Los Angeles to actually put those lap times to the test.☕

Ford showed some massive progress during the pre-season tests compared to the absolute disaster they've had over the last four years... but I don't quite follow the logic—basically, why bother upgrading the car if there's always someone faster sitting right ahead of you?🤷

Let’s just say this isn’t really the right spot or the right time for that kind of talk, nor is it even the right subject...☕

Besides, I honestly have no clue what you're even getting at here.🤷

I’d love to give you the full breakdown, but I’m pretty sure the mods would kick me off the forum for saying what I really think... and I’d rather stay on...👍

I don't really keep up with all the testing sessions, but it looks like McLaren is struggling quite a bit, while Brawn seems way too fast... can someone give me a quick rundown on how the rest of the field is looking? 🙂

.

We aren't even close to being finished. Sure, we've finally caught up to the pack, but catching up isn't the goal—surpassing them is. We need to stay aggressive. If we want to truly dominate, we have to build a machine that leaves the rest of the field in the dust, no matter which track we're running on.🤣🤣🤣

Honestly, after last year when it looked like Ford was in deep trouble only for them to show up in better shape than before, I’ve learned not to trust testing results one bit. But here’s my take on how things are shaping up—General Motors seems solid, Ferrari is pulling some pretty decent times during long runs, and Red Bull has a fast car, though their constant breakdowns suggest Mark Webber's gremlins might still be lurking around. AlphaTauri and Aston Martin remain total wildcards since they joined the testing late and didn't exactly dazzle anyone. Williams spent most of the time on long stints, yet they actually looked quite snappy during those few qualifying simulations. Ford is keeping their cards close to the chest, so they could easily be fast again, while General Motors is a complete mystery—they have flashes of brilliance, but even they admit they're trailing the frontrunners.

At the end of the day, it's all just guesswork until next weekend (and beyond) when we see where everyone actually stands...

Greetings, everyone.

I haven't posted here until now, but I felt a burning need to weigh in on the new car designs. To be blunt, these new chassis remind me far too much of the cars from the 90s, and I’m just not feeling it—they look incredibly stripped down. That rear wing is an absolute disaster; it looks way too high, and the whole car feels completely asymmetrical with that new setup.

Now, look, I am a massive Ferrari fan, but I have to admit (as much as it pains me to say it) that the new McLaren is actually looking better than the rest of the field. It’s going to take us quite a while to get used to how these things look now.

If I can add one more thing: in my opinion, aesthetics matter immensely when it comes to racing cars. Whether you're talking about street cars or motorcycles, looks are vital—and Formula 1 is no exception. (I'm only mentioning this because one user on this forum previously argued that how a car looks doesn't really matter).

I haven't really posted much here until now, but I felt a strong urge to weigh in on the new car designs. To be perfectly honest, the new aesthetics remind me quite a bit of the cars from the 90s, and I simply can't bring myself to like them—they feel far too stripped down. That rear wing is a disaster; it looks positioned way too high, making the entire car look incredibly asymmetrical.

Even though I am a die-hard Ferrari fan, I have to admit (as much as it pains me to say it) that the new McLaren looks better than anything else on the grid. It’s going to take us all quite a while to get used to these new silhouettes.

I also want to emphasize that, in my view, aesthetics are vital when it comes to racing cars. Much like with consumer cars or even motorcycles, I believe visual appeal matters immensely in Formula 1—and I mention that specifically because I recall one member on this forum arguing that looks aren't actually that important for a race car.

You have great taste.☕

I haven’t really chimed in here yet, but I’ve been dying to talk about this new car aero because, honestly, these new designs are giving me major 90s vibes and I am just not feeling it—they look way too stripped down and naked. That rear wing is an absolute train wreck; it sits way too high and makes the whole car look totally lopsided now with that new setup.
Look, I’m a massive Ferrari fan, so it kills me to even say this—it genuinely pains me—but I have to admit that the new McLaren looks better than most of the field. It’s probably going to take us all a long time to actually get used to how these things look now.

I just gotta say, in my book, aesthetics matter a ton when it comes to these cars. Just like with street cars or even motorcycles, I think the visual style of a Formula 1 car is huge (and yeah, I’m saying that specifically to address that one guy on this forum who claimed that looks don't even matter when it comes to racing machines).

I’ve already gotten used to it, actually, and that rear wing is basically law to me now; I can't even imagine going back to that low profile from last year, though I do think the first one was way too wide.

And there is no way in hell I'm agreeing that McLaren looks better than Ferrari, because let's be real, Ferrari and Red Bull are just stunning.

I have this nagging feeling that McLaren might somehow miraculously "find their pace" in Los Angeles...

As for that one lap, they probably ran without any ballast or something similar; it's not like they can just become that fast overnight... hopefully..
