John Taylor31 said:Is there actually any noticeable difference between build 7057 and 7077? I don't want to waste my bandwidth if it's all the same stuff.

Don't bother downloading anything. There are way too many builds floating around right now; don't waste your time and just wait until the official release comes out. Obviously, if something on your PC is broken because of a specific build, then go ahead and download it, but otherwise, you're just wasting your time.👍

Yo guys, just finished installing Windows 7 build 7106 today and man, I am seriously loving it! I honestly couldn't wait for the official release—had to get my hands on it early to see what the hype was about... Can't wait for the final version to drop.

If you're still rocking XP, do yourself a favor ---> make the jump to Windows 7. You'll definitely feel the difference 😉 (in a good way, obviously 😁)

I finally started downloading too... I had the 7000 version myself, but I ended up switching back to Vista because it didn't support sptd for Windows 7—which meant I couldn't get Daemon Tools or alcohol :P USA running properly. So yeah, currently grabbing 7100 x64 🙂 Just wanted to test the waters with a 64-bit Windows setup a bit 😁

The W7 build 7200 is finally out, and this is what a true RC1 actually looks like.

Is it possible to install Daemon Tools or Alcohol on Windows 7?
When will the full version be released?
Can I perform an upgrade directly from XP using newer builds, or am I still stuck having to go through Vista first?

1. Yeah, you can.
2. No one's really sure yet—maybe sometime in the second half of the year, towards the end, I guess.
3. Just from Windows Vista.

Would this work on my old desktop setup? I'm running a Pentium 4 2.4 with a gig of RAM.

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium on an older machine with 2 gigs and an AMD Athlon 3000 (2.0GHz), and even with all the visual effects turned on, it runs smooth as silk thanks to the service pack! There's zero lag. It’s fast and efficient, so you should be able to run Windows 7 on that 2.4 without any issues, but honestly, don't bother installing Windows 7 until the final version is actually out—you'll just be wasting your time.👍

I've been running this setup for a few days now and honestly? I'm loving it! I set up a dual-boot with Windows XP and Windows 7, though—if I'm being real—I can't even remember the last time I actually booted into XP 🙂

So far, everything I've installed is running smooth as butter. Just haven't dove into my game library yet—fingers crossed they all run perfectly 🙄

Everything I've installed so far has worked just fine. I haven't had a chance to test out any games yet, but I'm hoping they run smoothly too 🙄

If things don't work, just use a compatibility mode! 👍

Has anyone here actually gone ahead and installed the latest version, specifically build 7200, and if you have... I'm curious to know how it's performing for you...

Is it just me, or does my torrenting feel way slower on Windows 7 compared to how snappy it was on Windows XP? 🙄

The 7100 runs flawlessly; I haven't run into a single issue with drivers or software, generally speaking.🙂

I’m running build 7106 right now—any major dealbreakers between 7106 and 7100? Don't wanna go through the hassle of an update if there's nothing big to gain...

If you ask me, Windows 7 is basically a finished product already—it just needs a little bit of polish.
Honestly, moving from the Release Candidate stage to the RTM version isn't going to bring any massive, earth-shattering changes.
It’ll mostly just be a bunch of random bugfixes and some minor aesthetic tweaks here and there.

Better to wait until Microsoft releases the official specs, then everyone can swarm the torrents.
