Amy Bishop94 said:I need some help here: I usually just transfer money through online banking because it's fast and easy. But now I need to deposit funds into a checking account... basically, how do I enter the account number in the field provided? When I start typing the number into the second box, it tells me the number is too long and won't let me finish. And in the first box, I'm supposed to put that routing number thing.

Help. 🙂

😕 I'm probably not much help, but isn't there a specific option for checking vs. savings? Usually, one uses 11 digits and the other uses 10.
Or just call the customer service line for your bank or shoot them an email.
Good luck. 🙂

Quick question: if I’m sending something to a P.O. Box using general mail, how does the pricing actually work?
I was digging through the USPS rate sheet earlier, and they have this specific line item for P.O. Box delivery, but it’s not clear if that extra fee applies to the sender or the recipient.

I checked the USPS price list, and there's this extra "Poste Restante" option listed, but I can't tell if that fee applies to the sender or the recipient.

Not entirely sure myself, so feel free to set me straight if I've got this wrong based on what I found in this thread... apparently the package sits there for 30 days and then the recipient pays $0.43.

Hey everyone, could I get some help here? 🙂

So, I’m looking to mail some magazines to a friend.

The whole stack weighs about 15 pounds altogether, so I’ll be sending them as a package directly to her address, which should cost roughly $9.25.

I was wondering, though... how should I actually wrap these up? Do I really need to find a sturdy box, or would just wrapping them in some heavy-duty paper work okay?...

And is there anything else I need to include on the outside or any extra steps I might be missing?

If anyone here has experience shipping packages, I would absolutely love it if you could walk me through the whole process! Thanks so much!

I should probably send some magazines over to this girl.

Those magazines weigh about 15 pounds total, so I’m just going to ship them to her address as a single package. $9.25.

I’ve been wondering about the best way to wrap these magazines. Does anyone know if I actually need to use a box for this, or can I just get away with wrapping them in plain paper?

What else is there to add? Is that even a question?

I’m looking for someone who’s actually sent out packages before to just walk me through the whole process from start to finish. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

If things are that fragile, you might be better off just tossing them in a sturdy box. Honestly, if you just wrap them in paper, I’m not even sure the clerks at the UPS Store will accept the package. I've had my stuff get absolutely trashed before because someone tried to ship it in one of those flimsy ASOS mailer bags.

I have a question. I sent a tracksuit via certified mail with COD, but this idiot refused to accept the package—basically just rejected it outright 😕 and honestly, looking at the envelope, it looks like it’s already been tampered with 😲 so, can I actually report this or file some kind of complaint 🤷

Just one quick plea here: can we please make sure there are enough validation stamps for the recommendations? I mean... I swing by some days and they’re missing. I show up today, and it’s the same story. 🙂 I actually had to start a whole separate thread just to deal with this. 🙄 Honestly, I can't tell if the staff is just incredibly forgetful or if there's some weird supply chain issue happening behind the scenes. 😁 Either way, it's pretty ridiculous that they're out, considering I literally can't do my job without them. Like, hello? 😕

Of course you can.😉

I checked the USPS price list, and there's an option for P.O. Box delivery mentioned, but I can't tell if that fee falls on the sender or the recipient.

The recipient pays. $0.43

Dammit, this really should have been reported right when we took over the property, but since it wasn't me who signed the papers—my old man did—it's probably too late now. 🙂

If I'm sending money via a money order at the post office, how much extra should I leave for the clerk? I remember doing this once—back when I was helping my sister out with some bills—but I can't quite recall the exact amount I had to hand over... thanks!

Guys, I seriously need some urgent advice here!

What am I even supposed to do when half the stuff from my package just vanishes, especially since the USPS staff saw everything I actually put in there? The girl I sent this to says the main item is missing—the rest was just extra little gifts—and the total value of the whole box was $93...

I mean, look, I’ve dealt with my fair share of issues before—like when people swipe packages off porches or drivers just toss boxes onto the driveway—but having actual items go missing from inside the box? That is a whole different level of messed up!

I have a quick question—does anyone know if there's an extra fee at the UPS Store when you add a "fragile" sticker to a package?

What on earth do I do when half the stuff is missing from a package, even though the USPS staff saw everything I actually sent? The girl I was sending this to says she didn't receive the main item—the rest were just little gifts—and the total value of the package was $93...

I’ve never dealt with anything like this before. I mean, I'm used to people swiping packages left on porches or tossing them in the street, but having items actually vanish from inside the box? That is a whole different level of crazy!

When a package is accepted, it gets a label that lists the weight (it's also noted on the receipt)
If you're suspicious, ask them to weigh it again for you. If something is missing, the weight won't match what was originally recorded.
Honestly, I'm not quite sure what to tell you because there isn't much you can do at this stage, but you have to act immediately.
However, the girl who received it should go ahead and file an official complaint. They are required to take the report. She might not get reimbursed since she didn't catch it right away, but maybe they'll catch whatever lowlifes are actually ripping into boxes and stealing contents.

If you're feeling suspicious, just ask them to weigh it right then and there—if items are missing, the scale doesn't lie.
To be honest, I'm not quite sure what else to suggest since timing is everything here—you really have to act fast.
However, the woman who received it should head over and file a formal complaint immediately; they are required to take the report. She might not get reimbursed if she didn't flag it instantly, but maybe her report will help catch those thieves who clearly think they can get away with stealing in broad daylight.

That's solid advice—I wouldn't have thought of that myself—and it seems like these tampered shipments are becoming way too common lately.

For the third time this month, my mail carrier has failed to leave a delivery notice—you know, that little slip of paper that actually tells you something arrived. I’ve already gone down to the local USPS branch to complain, but clearly, that didn't accomplish much. Honestly, I'm reaching my breaking point with this. My mom actually swung by the post office today to see if there was anything waiting for me, only to find out the package has been sitting there for two days. Not a single notification was left at my house. Then, later this afternoon, I hear the mail truck pull up outside—I can literally hear the engine—and he just slides the notice into the mailbox without even ringing the bell. Does he really find walking a few extra feet to the door that exhausting?
Who can I actually complain to that might actually result in some kind of change?

I don't get it; is it really that much effort to actually hand over the mail?

You could try reaching out to his delivery supervisor, but keep in mind they aren't technically required to carry standard or certified mail if the parcel weighs more than one kilogram.

If you just taped them down better, there wouldn't be an issue, I guess.😉

I honestly cannot wrap my head around how the USPS operates. I sent out one package weighing just over 400 grams and another weighing 108 grams, yet I was charged the exact same $6.75 shipping rate for both, even though the second package was
three times lighter than the first...

Since you sent it as a standard package last time, stick to registered mail for lighter items next time.
The USPS website has a shipping calculator you can use to figure out the costs.
