Greetings. I apologize if this isn't quite the appropriate venue for such an inquiry, though I am somewhat uncertain where else to direct it. Could anyone here tell me if they frequently place orders through eBay? Thank you.

If you're looking for someone who might be able to order things for you, I guess there's a whole thread right here, so maybe check that out: πŸ˜‰

Hey, does anyone know how the claims process works for international shipping? I've got a package that's been stuck in transit forever, and since it hasn't bounced back to me yet, I'm gonna have to deal with this mess soon.

Well, as a first step, you can check this out:

otherwise, for an international claim, you just head down to your local USPS office with your receipt, a photo ID, and your Social Security number.
Then they'll get the process started, and once everything is wrapped up, you'll receive a formal written response.

So, I was wondering... if a package gets sent back to the sender, how much does that person actually end up shelling out for shipping again?
In this specific situation, the shipment was $117 (shipping cost was $16), and now the person receiving it wants to send it all back. Does anyone know what the damage would be for the return shipping??

I don't think you're out of luck $27...I once had a similar situation using USPS where the package wasn't picked up, and I ended up shelling out about $27 πŸ™‚
. That’s why it's always smarter to stick to direct bank transfers/Zelle 😁

so honestly, it’s way better to just stick to direct bank transfers or something similar 😁

Wait, how does that even work? How do they calculate the fee?
So, I had this package show up, right? And it's been just chilling at the post office for like a weekβ€”I didn't even know it was there! And now, because of some drama with the sender, I don't even want it anymore (plus, I totally can't go grab it right now). Honestly, I'd rather just pay the $33 fee than deal with dealing with total idiots.

URGENT QUESTION!

If I'm sending some stuff through USPS for $8.80, do they have bigger envelopes or boxes included in that price? Or do I need to buy them separately or just wrap everything up at home? It’s nothing too heavy, but I guess it might not fit in a standard envelope.

You can just grab envelopes or boxes right there at the post office.πŸ™‚

velvetwalker23 said:It’s not just an eBay thing; it applies to any kind of shipment. It’s never happened where two packages arrive at once, which makes no sense. If I order something from within the US, it shouldn't take weeks or months to get here, yet there are plenty of orders placed at the exact same time
I'll just ask him and be done with it.

p.s.
Seriously, all my packages aren't going to fit in that one bag.😁

Of course, you realize that one single package can be bulkier than three others combined. It's also common sense that it's much easier for the mail carrier to visit one address once every two weeks rather than driving to your place four times in those same two weeksβ€”ringing the bell, looking for a porch, driving back and forth, and waiting around.

Maybe there's some other reason why he's so eager to stop by your place so often?

Hey everyone,

I've got a few Ice Watches I'm looking to move. I sent one out to some woman over in Maine, and as soon as she got it, she called me up claiming she's an official distributor and she's going to sue me for selling fakes. Since I still have a couple more left, and I heard there's a way to send a package via COD without actually putting my full legal name on the label, I was thinking about just heading to the post office to collect the cash and calling it a day. Does anyone actually know how to pull that off?

Thanks!

That service is called "Poste Restante," so you should probably ask about that when you hit up the USPS.πŸ˜‰

Thanks, man. I'll probably head over to the USPS on Monday to look into this further; I did some digging on their website earlier and saw what the pricing looks like. $0.45 For a shipment like that? I mean, come on. You can't just send something of that caliber through the regular mail without thinking about the logistics first. It’s a massive undertaking.

Hey there.

How risky is it to buy a phone through USPS? I'm looking at snagging a device worth $467, and the guy is based out of Columbus while I'm over here in Scranton. He says he'll ship it via USPS, and then I pay once the package actually hits my doorstep. My big worry is that I can't exactly crack the box open to inspect it before handing over the cashβ€”for all I know, he could be sending me a brick. Has anyone dealt with this kind of setup before? Is it actually a good deal, or am I asking for trouble? Is there any way to peek inside before paying? He did email me some photos and an invoice, but still...

Thanks

so, how many days does it actually take for priority mail to get to someone? I dropped off a package at the San Francisco post office on Monday morning, Oct 15th, before 8 AM. Paid $6.75 for priority shipping and sent it to a small town in Ohio. I told my girl they’d be there by Tuesday since the USPS website says it should only take one business day.
But she messaged me yesterday, the 17th, saying nothing showed up. So I went back to the post office this morning, showed them my receipt, and the clerk checked and said the package was received in the small town in Ohio, just hasn't been delivered yet. They said maybe it would arrive today. Well, still nothing.

I'm honestly pretty stressed. I have the receipt and everything, but what am I supposed to do if it never shows up? It's crazy how slow this isβ€”it was sent priority at 7:45 AM on Monday and tomorrow is already Friday. I'm so annoyed. What's the move if she doesn't get it soon?

I am seriously freaking out here. I have all my receipts and proof, but what am I supposed to do if this thing never actually gets delivered? How can it be lagging this much? Tomorrow is already Friday, and I sent this as early as 7:45 AM on Monday via priority... I'm so incredibly pissed off right now!! What's my next move if she doesn't get her package soon?

From what I've seen happen before, it's totally possible the girl just got a notification and hasn't bothered to go grab it... though other things could be going on too. Maybe the buyer should just try calling the local post office in that small town in Ohio and ask if there's something waiting for her...

Zachary, thanks. It's nice when people actually answer stuff... I guess it's all pretty weird. Maybe the slip just vanished into thin air... definitely strange.
