So, I got a notification today saying an international package had arrived...
But when I actually showed up at the post office to pick it up, they couldn't find a trace of it.
It wasn't even on the manifest of items the carrier supposedly brought back at the end of their shift.
The staff basically told me to swing by early Monday morning while the carrier is still in the office—maybe then I can ask them if they have any idea what happened to it.

If it turns out they've developed total amnesia and can't find the little package—say, tucked away in the back of a mail truck or something—what are my actual rights here?
Is there a formal way to file a complaint?
And how do they even go about determining compensation...

I have a quick question 😁 regarding a sale I just closed with a buyback option. I don't quite have my bearings on the logistics; I still have the item in my possession and plan to ship it tomorrow from where I am currently staying. I am wondering if the funds will be sent to my primary mailing address—which is what appears on the confirmation—or if they will be directed to the address I am shipping from. If anyone actually knows the answer, please let me know 🙂 because I am currently 93 miles away from home, and it would be a massive waste of time and gas to drive all the way back just to collect this money if it ends up being sent to the wrong place.

Look, you can just list whatever address you want as the sender, and the money will hit you at that location regardless!

Hey everyone,

I was hoping someone might be able to give me a straight answer on something. 🙂
I’m currently living in an apartment in Washington, D.C., as a subtenant, and I haven't officially registered my address here yet. I was just wondering if it's actually okay for me to receive mail addressed to my name at this location. For instance, if I order something from eBay or something similar, is that going to cause any issues? I'm not talking about official bills or trying to register this place as my legal residence or anything like that—just simple packages and letters. Thanks so much!!

You're totally fine to do that,🙂
just make sure you clearly write your last name on the mailbox (and maybe the doorbell too, just in case there are any certified packages) so the mail carrier actually knows who the package belongs to. Or, honestly, your other option is to just format the address like this:

Pero Perić c/o Marić

Pero Perić c/o Marić

Zachary Peterson6, thanks so much for getting back to me!

Man, I’ve had neighbors swipe my packages more than a few times now. Sometimes the delivery just hangs out of the mailbox, and then they just reach in and grab it >🙂 and you’re just left standing there thinking...

So, I finally picked up my package today, but there was a bit of a headache with the COD fee. The label clearly stated "Recipient pays: $18," yet when the mail carrier arrived, he charged me $73... I didn't receive any prior invoice or anything, so now I'm left wondering: is there some hidden surcharge I wasn't told about, or is this just how things work now?

I mean, that’s basically just "return shipping" fees. You're essentially paying for the service of moving the money from you to the recipient... honestly, most people who send stuff out usually mention this upfront, but whatever...☕

Hey everyone, I was expecting a package from back home to arrive this past Monday—it was shipped out last Friday—but still nothing has shown up yet.

I'm wondering if I can just head down to the post office and ask if there's anything waiting for me? Since I'm living here in Indianapolis, I'm not entirely sure if I should check at the main branch or if a local one would be better. Thanks!

It’s totally possible they sent the package to be picked up at the local Post Office instead of delivering it straight to the address, just because that's the cheaper shipping option.
I mean, you should probably just give the main USPS hub a call and see if it's sitting there waiting for you!

If it's just a standard package, the delivery window is usually three business days—so weekends don't really count. It might not have reached Indianapolis yet, I guess. But if you think it should be here by now, maybe call the post office or stop by to check. If you have a tracking number, you could try calling the USPS customer service line. If not, just call the local Indianapolis office and they should be able to point you in the right direction.

So, I had this girl sending me a package, right? And when I was typing out my address, I totally missed the fact that I swapped a digit in the zip code—I put a 3 instead of a 2. Like, instead of 10001 Washington, D.C., I wrote 10201 Washington, D.C. Now I'm sitting here wondering what actually happens to the box? It was supposed to land on my doorstep by Monday, but clearly, that isn't happening. Can I just head down to the local post office and try to track it down myself, or is it just going to be sent all the way back to her, meaning she'll have to pay to ship it all over again?

How on earth am I supposed to ship a perfume if I don't have the original box? Should I just toss it in a standard shipping box, or would one of those bubble mailers be better? And am I expected to do all this packing at the Post Office, or can I just handle everything at home before heading out? Also, does anyone know if I can pick up those padded envelopes at a local Barnes & Noble or something similar? Most importantly, what kind of damage is my wallet taking on this—roughly how much is this going to cost me? :neznalica:

Don't just toss it in a standard envelope; you're asking for it to get smashed. It’s much better to find a smaller box and really pad out the inside. Once you've tucked the perfume in, just use plenty of packing paper to cushion everything up

Just pack it at home. Find a sturdy box, stuff it with some paper, and nestle the perfume inside. You want to make sure there isn't any extra room in there so the bottle doesn't just rattling around during transit. Once you're done, wrap the box in some plain colored paper or something to make it look decent.

^^Thanks, ladies! I’m still a little stuck on one thing, though—do I need to provide my home address myself, or is that something they just handle on their end? Honestly, I feel so clueless when it comes to this kind of paperwork 🙂

You have to take care of it; they aren't going to package it, tape it, or write the address for you 😁

I mean, I guess if you play your cards right and ask nicely, maybe they'll help you out, but don't count on it.😍😁
