I have a question regarding a specific situation. We were trying to ship a package (about 13 lbs) via FedEx air service from our office on Jury Street to Sweden. Well, the package was sent right back to us because they inspected the contents here in the US (zip code 10003) and claimed that the 100ml bottles of 70% medical alcohol are considered "dangerous goods". I haven't been able to find any official regulations anywhere regarding what is or isn't allowed in a shipment, and when we spoke to the staff at the post office, they told us there weren't any such restrictionsβassuming everything was within normal bounds, since medical alcohol is just for household use. Does this information even exist anywhere? Not to mention, you can carry that exact same alcohol onto a plane as a passenger at the airport...
More importantly, am I entitled to a refund since the package wasn't actually delivered? I already paid $117, which definitely isn't pocket change...
In fact, I feel like I should be getting my money back because the US postal service failed to provide any notice (before anything was even shipped) regarding which items are prohibited or how we are supposed to package them.
