Starting this Monday, I’m going full beast mode on cardio—hitting it 3 or 4 times a week—and sticking to a super strict meal plan for maybe a month or two. Once I've torched that extra layer of fat I'm carrying around, I’m finally gonna pivot and focus on heavy lifting to pack on some serious muscle. I've got way too much body fat right now and just want it gone, you know? I'll post a progress pic in mid-December... hopefully looking a lot more jacked by then. haha

Peace

Just grab the link and paste it directly into your browser's address bar. That should get things moving—it looks like there might be a little glitch somewhere else...

It’s been nearly a year since I posted any photos—not that I was exactly motivated to do so—but after a little "nudge," I’m finally dropping some recent 😉
.
Everything here is from late July. I didn't quite manage to catch my back at the right angle, but hey,
whatever.

I haven't exactly been on a diet since my last update—between the stress at work and keeping up with my classes, I just didn't have the mental bandwidth for it. But I’ve finally started hitting a calorie deficit, and things are slowly starting to move in the right direction. I’m crossing my fingers that in two months I might actually be able to post a photo in a bikini, or at least something with significantly less clothing. Anyway, here’s a shot from today; I decided to focus on the back and biceps.

So, it’s been about six years since I last checked in—let’s mark this down as September 3rd, 2010, just so I don't forget my own history—and here I am, getting back into the fitness grind again.

I mean, who knows if this is actually going to lead anywhere or if it'll just be another failed attempt, but I figured I should at least document my starting point for myself.

"Before" shots 😳

My starting weight is sitting somewhere around 240-245 lbs. For now, I guess I'm just trying to cut back on food as much as I can manage and stay active—maybe doing some walks 6.2 miles two or three times a week, or hopefully more, especially since I'm moving soon to a place where I'll have better access to local pools, which might get me more active, though eventually, I might try running or cycling if things go well. I'm not really going to set any rigid, specific goals, like saying "I'll lose X pounds by Y date," because I think that's a bit much; I just want to see some real, tangible progress that I can actually feel.

43 years old, 132 lbs, mother of a 15-year-old... taken today out by a local spring in Colorado😁.
The goal is to finally lose this stubborn waistline fat, and I’m trying to build up my glutes, though they aren't cooperating yet :P. I recently picked up an 8kg kettlebell to start working on some exercises.
Any advice or critiques are more than welcome.

Here are two more shots to wrap up the summer, which I actually just snapped about ten minutes ago, so I guess I can finally take a little breather now😁
Anyway, since I know you all are pretty much experts on this stuff, what would you say my body fat percentage is looking like here?

A photo from the aftermath of my latest expedition—I’ve spent the last two weeks surviving solely on instant soup packets and greasy street tacos. It is finally time to return to civilization and eat a real meal.

Alright, so after twelve solid months of this absolute peasant-style training—just grinding away like a blue-collar worker—I’m finally making the call to hit a cutting phase. Going straight into a calorie deficit... strictly business now. But man, I swear, my own damn lack of discipline is killing me—too much smoking, way too much drinking... if I actually had some self-control, I’d be shredded by now. Just... ugh.

Hey, it’s me again—hitting 33 this year, and I'll be turning 34 this December.🙄 Currently sitting at about 119 lbs and 5'7".

I've seen a bit of improvement in my lower body compared to last year. Honestly, my definition would probably be way better if I hadn't gone on vacation and spent basically eight months just inhaling ice cream... I mean, my actual meals were clean, but the sugar cravings totally got the best of me—let's just call it my annual "bulking phase." 😁😁😵
Anyway, things are looking up; I'm starting my bulk around October. Right now, I'm hovering around 54kg—I don't really bother with the scale much, I just check the mirror. Hoping to put on some solid muscle over the winter—nothing crazy, just the classics, clean eating, maybe one cheat day a week. 🙂
My upper body has definitely gotten stronger too; my arms don't feel all spindly like they did last year, which is a win in my book.
Small progress is still progress, right?
As for my routine, I'm still sticking to the machines and dumbbells. I hit the gym three times a week, sometimes four. For cardio, I just do about two sessions of the StairMaster after my workouts.
Last year I was out riding my bike constantly, but this year I've only been out once! 😛

That last shot with the three of them—anyway, I'll be back at the gym before you know it...

So, I’ve been on this crazy "macro-counting" kick for like, 30 days now... and honestly? It’s basically just me slamming protein shakes and chugging gallons of water all day long🙂.

Jessica Reed57 said:She’s asking for advice from anyone who actually knows what they're doing in the gym. Wants to tone up and build some actual shape. Six months ago she was 125 lbs, now she's down to 110. She's about 5'4". Started working out—30 minutes on the stepper plus some light dumbbells for arms and back using YouTube videos—about 4 or 5 times a week. Watching her diet, but nothing crazy. Hit 110 lbs and feels a bit more toned—hopefully you can tell from the photo. But here's the catch: her proportions are off. Her lower body is stronger and harder to shape, while she just keeps losing weight up top. Looking for exercise recs to firm up, hit maybe 115 lbs, lift the glutes, and balance everything out. Should she join a gym? Maybe one of those women's boutique fitness classes with a trainer? Be nice, she's 40 with two kids.

The photos show before (colorful swimsuit) and after (black)

Here’s me after a few months.

Working out at home and hitting the gym 3 times a week. Weight is sitting at 108-110 lbs.

Just a quick shot of the shoulders after today's session. I’m finally getting back into the swing of things after a brutal, exhausting work season where I managed to drop about 30 pounds—mostly thanks to those grueling 12-hour graveyard shifts and basically zero downtime, which was pretty stressful, I guess. If everything goes according to plan, I should probably be back to my old weight within the next month or so. My arms feel, well, maybe about 25% bigger than they used to be, at least in my own estimation.

Hey, go easy on me! Please... I just started hitting the gym. For the last three months, I was just working out at home and going for runs outside.

Right now, I’m really focusing on my core. I’m hoping to get those abs showing by March. Wish me luck!
