Any chance we could try this again with a second attempt? 🙂

I’ve managed to unearth two more relics from the depths of my storage closet that I simply have no use for anymore:

A CTR Dell UltraSharp Monitor and an

NVIDIA GeForce GT series graphics card.

Is there actually any value left in this junk, or am I just holding onto expensive paperweights?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if you guys could take a look at these specs and give me your honest thoughts.

-Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E6600 @ 3.06GHz, 3058 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s) (just a heads up, it’s officially a 2.4 GHz chip, but I've had the overclock running perfectly for two years now), Scythe Katana cooler
-NVIDIA Radeon graphics
-Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB
-Hard Disk: Hitachi HDS721616PLA380 ATA Device (160GB)
-2nd Hard Disk: Western Digital WD5000AVDS-63U7B1 ATA Device (500GB)

That bolded part doesn't mean anything at all.

As for the rig, try somewhere around $1000-$400

Thanks... so I guess if they're licensed, we're good. And for some people, having them pre-installed just means one less thing to mess around with.

If you’ve got an original product key—rather than just using some loader or one of those sketchy activation tools—then you should definitely feel free to bump up the price. If not, honestly, there isn't much room to move. I mean, installing Windows takes maybe 20 minutes tops, and if you're using those tools mentioned above, the actual activation process takes all of ten seconds. 😁

Maybe if nobody else steps up—perhaps. $267 For everything listed above.

rapidpuma59 said:I've come across two more old items that I no longer have any use for:

CTR Dell UltraSharp Monitor i

NVIDIA GeForce GT series

Is it worth it?

The graphics card is basically non-existent—it’s a "whatever you can get" situation.

The monitor still holds some value, though that really depends on what kind of buyer you happen to run into. $50But according to Craigslist, the competition is actually pretty fierce—it looks like people are practically giving away 17" CRT monitors for pennies.

Hey! 🙂

Which Intel Celeron 2.8 are we talking about?

$17
$8.25
Give me what you've got.

Estimating "pay what you want" 🤣 But let's be real, I doubt anyone with half a brain is going to shell out any money for this.

That was actually the very first graphics card we ever picked up when we bought our first rig, so I’ll admit, I’ve pretty much let it gather dust in my mind for years. Now that I'm looking at it again, I can't help but wonder—could it still pull its weight for someone who just needs to browse the web? I’m actually thinking about handing this whole setup over to a buddy of mine; he isn't looking to dive into any heavy gaming or anything intense, he just wants to stream some movies and get online without a headache.

I need some help figuring out what my PC is worth. I’m looking to sell it, but I have no clue about the market value. Here’s the specs:
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU E740
Motherboard: ASUS GA-EP35-DS3L
RAM: 4GB DDR2
GPU: NVIDIA Radeon graphics
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320620 320GB ATA
PSU: MS-400atx p4 400w
SATA DVD\RW and a Sony CD\RW
Not sure on the exact case model—it's an ASUS. It shows system temps and lets you adjust fan speeds... Has two USB ports on the side plus audio jacks.

So, I've got this PC I put together about five months ago. I’m looking for some kind of gut check on the build—just wondering if you guys think it's any good. Thanks.

CPU: AMD A10 5800K clocked at 3.9 GHz, pushed up to 4.2 GHz via overclocking.
Motherboard: Asrock FM2A88X Extreme 4+
RAM: 12 GB of DDR3 running at 1333 MHz.
Graphics card: MSI GAMING R9 270X 4GB (the latest version in the 270X lineup)
Hard drive: Western Digital Blue 320 GB
Power Supply: FSP Raider 750W 80+
Akyga AKY008BK Case

So, I’ve got two exhaust fans sitting right by the processor—one on the side and one at the top. Since my Corsair mid-tower case actually has eight different slots for fans, I could move them around if I wanted to. Right now, both the motherboard and the graphics card are still under their three-year warranty, so I don't have to worry about breaking anything just yet.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

That’s essentially a brand-new PC, and most of those components are still available on the market (aside from the hard drive, maybe $50). I’d suggest checking sites like Newegg or Amazon; if you start with the cheapest options and negotiate, you could probably shave at least 15% off the price.

Why is there such a massive trend toward pairing an APU with a dedicated GPU in custom builds, especially when people are putting these rigs together themselves rather than buying pre-builts...

Maybe as a safety net. That’s how I’d play it—grab a discrete card for gaming so if it dies, you at least have a decent fallback.😁

That's how I picked up my GPU later on. Honestly, most people don't even realize it—even over at Microsoft, they put together a build using an APU plus a dedicated GPU instead of just throwing an Intel chip in there...
