Honestly, when I look at the prices on Newegg, I don't even bother calculating. 🙂 Here's what's sitting in the marketplace right now $293. The cheapest one on eBay is $700. I wouldn't part with mine for $550 even if you threatened me—at least not if I'm trying to sell it today. That’s why I say, if I decide to sell, I’m going to price it based on current market rates, not what things were worth six months ago. Who knows, maybe they'll be even $33 more expensive tomorrow, and then I'd feel like an idiot for selling it for $50 less than I could have gotten. You just can't predict it, so you have to watch the current supply and adjust your prices accordingly. I think if I wanted a quick sale, I'd list it for around $550-$200 and it would fly off the shelf immediately, but I'm certain you can pull in more than that without waiting too long. The market situation is just pretty crappy right now; what was settling around $4,000 six months ago is probably hitting closer to $4,500 now. Right now, the cheapest Intel Core i5 is $233 on eBay, and there aren't many left. So, you can likely get a decent price for a used one too, provided you have a little patience. 🙂

The starting point might be $667, though realistically, it’ll probably be a bit less than that.

DVD-RW

Aluminum case
Samsung Monitor 19"

Robert Rodriguez2 said:Don't be ridiculous. $1,300-$1,400 tops, especially since that GPU looks like it's seen better days.

Adam Moore3 said:Break it down piece by piece. If we assume the case is about $23, based on those estimates, you're looking at $533. Then again, this motherboard is actually decent (for an old socket), so I wouldn't let it go for less than $50. You could probably get $500 for it on Craigslist, at the very least.

Robert Rodriguez2 said:Whether it *can* sell and whether it *will* sell are two different things.
This stuff is five or six generations old; I doubt anyone's paying that kind of cash.😁

Look, if even a family member paid that much, then $1500 would definitely go to some random guy on a street corner in Chicago... 😬

Is that a bit light for a case?

I figured I could snag $167 once the new ones hit the shelves for $333.

Think I could ask $1333 for the whole setup?

I have no idea how old this computer actually is, but it’s in good condition. I bought the case from a guy about three months ago. $400Monitor $300, hard drive $170, keyboard TBD. $10..
I need some cash, so I’m looking to sell this. What would be a realistic asking price?

Robert Rodriguez2 said:Intel Core i5 2500k... maybe? 1100-1200 I'm thinking about selling mine—it’s probably worth around $1,000, I guess.
I guess the Zalman CNPS10X Extreme might be worth looking into. 100I guess that’s it. Maybe.
ASRock Z68 Extreme4— 400I guess it's just a quick note to say thanks. Maybe I'll be back soon.
Maybe 8GB of RAM should be enough, I guess. 300
MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr III, 1GB. 500-600
Maybe it's worth looking at the Samsung 840, 120GB—I guess. 450
The XFX 850 w Pro power supply— 450-500
The Thermaltake Chaser MK-1 case— $100
I'm really not sure what to make of this Razer BlackWidow mechanical keyboard.

You messed up a few things, I guess. 😁

This case is brand new, I guess. $367So, you can. $200 I guess we'll see what happens. Maybe.
Maybe an SSD is worth it? I guess we'll see. $133
I guess we're talking about CPU coolers now? $67The new guy was around... $150I guess Noctua is getting pretty close to matching them when it comes to cooling performance.
Maybe the keyboard is around $350? I guess.$133

You should probably at least put in... $1333 Starting off, you can too. $1400 Just thinking about this for a potential downgrade.

CPU: $500–$200 max
Motherboard: $83 (though don't take my word for it)
RAM: maybe $100
GPU: $400–$150
Power Supply: nothing 😁, you can find better ones for about $50–$33, but just list it like that

I forgot to mention that this is actually a setup I'm looking to pick up from a buddy of mine, so I'm trying to figure out what a realistic price tag would be for the whole bundle.

Adding those numbers up gives you the total 😬

By the way, if we're talking about the full setup, you'd still need an HDD, a case, and a DVD-RW drive to get a complete assessment

Is there anything more legendary than the Intel Core i5-2500K? Honestly, looking back at that processor, one has to wonder if we ever actually experienced a golden age of computing, or if we were all just living in a collective fever dream fueled by overclocking potential. It was the kind of chip that didn't just run software; it practically demanded you respect its boundaries while simultaneously inviting you to push it right to the edge. Does anyone else miss that era of hardware where a single CPU felt like the undisputed heart of a machine, rather than just one small cog in an endless sea of multicore madness?
Is there anything more frustrating than staring at an HD 7850HD and wondering where it all went wrong?
Is there anything more nostalgic than the Z68 extreme3 Gen3? I find myself staring at this setup lately and wondering if we ever truly appreciated the sheer engineering ambition of that era, or if we were all just too distracted by the constant cycle of incremental upgrades to notice? It’s one of those pieces of hardware that feels like a relic from a much more optimistic time in PC building.
So, we’re looking at the XFX 550W 80+ Bronze unit now? Honestly, one has to wonder if anyone actually expects much more from a power supply in this specific tier, or if we're all just collectively pretending that "bronze" isn't essentially code for "just enough to keep the lights on." Is it reliable? Well, that depends entirely on what kind of heavy lifting you're asking it to do. If you're trying to juice up a high-end rig, you might find yourself staring at a black screen faster than you can say "power surge," but for a standard, mid-range build, does it really need to be anything else?
Is it really too much to ask for just eight gigs of RAM?
I’ve been staring at this Cooler Master case, and honestly, I’m starting to wonder if they actually tested the front panel before shipping it out to the masses. Is it too much to ask for basic functionality? The headphone jack is already acting like it’s permanently stuck, and don't even get me started on the USB ports—you barely touch them and you can practically feel the internal connections snapping under the pressure. It’s truly a masterpiece of poor engineering, isn't it?
So, I find myself staring at this Dell UltraSharp 2560 x1440 monitor, wondering if anyone else feels that peculiar sense of existential dread when looking at such high resolution? Is it just me, or does having this much screen real estate suddenly make every single one of my desktop icons look like they’re judging my productivity levels? One moment you're enjoying the crispness, and the next, you're questioning why you ever settled for anything less than this level of clarity.

Could someone please provide an estimate? 🙂

Hey everyone, I was looking for a thread specifically for price checks on laptops but couldn't find one, so I'll just drop this here. Any idea what this thing is worth now?

Aspire V3 772G

Intel Core i5-4200M 2.5GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
8 GB DDR3
750 GB HDD
17.3 HD+ Acer CineCrystal LED LCD
DVD Super Multi DL drive

I paid about $850 for it a year ago.

The HD 7850HD.
Z68 extreme3 Gen3
XFX 550W (80+ Bronze)
8 GB of RAM.
I’ve got a Cooler Master case here with a front panel that is an absolute disaster. The headphone jack is already stuck, and the USB ports are so flimsy I feel like they're going to snap if I even look at them wrong. :S
Regarding the Dell UltraSharp 2560 x1440 monitor.

Please provide an estimate. 🙂

$333
$233
Perhaps. $133
300
300
What's the screen size?

I honestly wouldn't know anything about the monitor.
