Used PC builds: What are they worth?

To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't even bother trying to sell that. I've been looking around, and it seems like those i7 chips are still fetching upwards of $200 out there.$100 About a year ago, I remember seeing some listings on eBay... $133 It’s probably because decent motherboards are getting harder to find, so people just end up selling them for pennies. Honestly, if you're building for gaming or something similar, all you really need to do is drop in a significantly more powerful GPU—maybe throw an SSD in there too—and you've essentially performed a total blood transfusion on the system. It completely changes the DNA of the machine.

Here is my rough idea for a build:
CPU - $283
RAM - $50
Motherboard - 350-$133
GPU - $300 (depending on the warranty)
HDD - $50
Case - $33
PSU - $100

Motherboard - 350-$133
GPU - $300 (depending on the warranty)
HDD - $50
Case - $33
PSU - $100

Timothy Kim60, you're being way too optimistic about that GPU. When we're talking about an RX 460 $367, plus the fact that 370s are out there and the GTX 950 isn't far off... I think hitting 750 $267 is a stretch, even if there's still half the warranty
left.
left.

My assumption is he just picked this up recently—meaning he’s got almost his full warranty left—and it's the 4GB model. Based on the current price list, an RX 460 4GB is sitting around 1300-$467 according to the latest

Hey everyone! So, I picked up this graphics card about two years ago and honestly, I got such a killer deal on it:
HD 7950 3 GB, https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/HD7950DC2T3GD5V2/
I'm actually thinking about parting ways with it now, and I was wondering if anyone could give me a ballpark idea of what I might get for it?
The reason for the sale is pretty simple: I just upgraded to an R9 390

Maybe $300. Does it still have any warranty left? (ASUS usually offers 3 years). If it does, you should try $333

I know this thread is meant for desktop evaluations, but since there isn't a specific section for laptops, I'll just drop it here. I'm basically trying to figure out what a fair asking price would be for this machine. Just a heads-up, I have no clue what the original retail price was because it was given to me.
HP Envy TouchSmart 17-j 121
Intel Core i7-4710MQ with Intel HD Graphics 4600 (2.5 GHz, 6 MB cache, 4 cores)
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 840m (2 GB DDR3 dedicated)
2* 1 TB HDD WD10jPVX 5400 RPM
FHD LED-backlit touch screen
Beats Audio with 4 speakers and 2 subwoofers
1 multi-format SD media card reader
1 HDMI
1 headphone/microphone combo
4 USB 3.0 (1 HP USB Boost)
1 RJ-45
6-cell, 62 Wh Li-ion battery
HP TrueVision HD Webcam (front-facing) with integrated dual array digital microphone
Fingerprint reader
Dimensions: 41.6 x 27.52 x 3.34 cm
Weight: 3.2 kg
It's running the original Windows. The laptop works great, but I guess it's just become too impractical due to its size and weight.

Thanks. I’m thinking about selling it to a buddy, but I don't want him feeling like I ripped him off. It’s an older model, I guess, but it still handles new games pretty well.

What am I supposed to do with a pack of smokes? 🤔 Even back when I was a smoker, I didn't know how to roll my own 😬.

Hey, I’m looking to offload this rig, but I’m a total novice when it comes to pricing. Would love to get some thoughts from you guys 🙂
Case is some Microsoft Industrial Edition
Edit: forgot to mention, picked up the whole setup at a Best Buy back in early 2012.

Man. $233
Btw, those CPU and motherboard chipset temps look pretty worrying if the processor was actually idling when the screenshot was taken.
