Look, if a brand new 7770 is going for about $100 over in Germany 🙏, there’s no way people are dropping that kind of cash on a used 5850
. I’d personally aim for around $500 $200 — assuming she wants a quick sale

🤣 It isn't even $100, it's actually closer to $95.35 😉, and since it's an auction, it really just comes down to whoever is willing to bid more😁

So you're telling me an AMD Radeon HD 7770 OC is actually the better card? Give me a break... seriously... 😁

Look, if the 6850 performs on par with the 7770, then they’re a solid choice. Plus, you can't ignore the fact that the 7 series comes with much better drivers.

@Jack Alvarez/">@@Jack Alvarez - the prices over there are absolutely killer 🙏

I actually saw a 6850 listed locally for $200 (assuming the ad isn't a total scam), so it's very likely you'll find even better deals out there.

Just to clear things up, I'm actually offering the 5850, not the 6850, and I'm more than happy to ship this anywhere in the States—shipping should only run you about $10!

Hey guys, do you think $833 is a fair amount?

I've got an Asrock h55m-le motherboard—it's less than three months old, still has the receipt and warranty, though they didn't give me back the original box from the service center (or maybe they just forgot, who knows?).
CPU: i5 750, never overclocked, runs smooth as silk.
GPU: Msi gtx 660 TwinFrozr ii OC, comes as a full bundle with the receipt and warranty.

If I were to sell all this, would I be able to get a decent 1155 motherboard and an Ivy Bridge processor for those $833? My plan is to just rely on the integrated graphics on the CPU until I can save up enough for a new card. Any suggestions are welcome, 😉

You're just splitting hairs at this point—if you overclock that chip even a little bit, you basically end up with an i5-2400, maybe even a 2500. Honestly, buying any CPU that isn't a "K" series is just flushing money down the toilet. I mean, what are you planning to do, play Minesweeper on a 3770K? 😁

Man, I feel like a total idiot—I honestly don't even know what my next move should be. 🤣

So, I guess I’ll just sit tight and wait until Intel drops their next platform, then I'll finally make the jump.

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7770 OC
Processor: Intel Core I5 2320 7
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
Motherboard: P8Z68-V GEN3
Hard Drive: Western Digital Black 1.5 TB 64 MB cache
Western Digital Green 500 GB 16 MB cache
Monitor: Dell U2312HM
Keyboard: Logitech K300
Mouse: Logitech G400
Case: HAF XM Mid Tower
Power Supply: Corsair CX600

I suspect none of the experts here will be willing to provide an honest valuation for this setup. I am looking to transition to a laptop—maintaining this rig is becoming prohibitively expensive—so I have no intention of underselling it. Does anyone actually know what a fair market price would be?

Hey everyone, I was hoping someone could give me an honest appraisal of my current rig:

Case: NZXT Guardian 921
Control Panel: NZXT Sentry 2 fan panel (includes alarms and auto fan optimization)
Fans: NZXT setup—four 120mm fans all synced to the panel
PSU: Chieftec 650 W modular power supply
CPU: Phenom 9850 4 x2 at 2.5 GHz
CPU Cooler: Thermaltek Big Typhoon
RAM: 4x1 Corsair Dominator 1066 MHz DDR2
GPU: Asus ATI radeon 4870 512 ddr5
Motherboard: Abit AX78 (honestly, a fantastic board)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 250GB SATA2
DVD/RW: Samsung

I'm actually looking to sell this PC to a friend—so, what kind of price range should I be aiming for?

CPU Phenom 9850 4 x2, 2.5 ghz
CPU Cooler Thermaltek Big Typhoon
RAM 4x1 Corsair Dominator 1066 mhz DDR2
GPU Asus ATI radeon 4870 512 DDR5
Motherboard Abit AX78 (an excellent motherboard)
HDD Seagate Barracuda 250gb SATA2
DVD/RW Samsung

I am thinking about selling this PC to a friend, so I would be interested to know what kind of price I might expect for it.

What kind of motherboard is that (was it manufactured back in 1985?)?

Maximum price is $833, the components aren't bad aside from the motherboard (what socket does it use?) 🤷

Like I said before—it's all about frame drops here and there. Because of that, it’s definitely not worth it anymore.

AnandTech GPU 2012 5850

5850- 27.9
The 6850 is a year younger than that, supports OpenGL 4.1, and draws just a tiny bit less power.

Same architecture, but honestly, the 7850 just pulls away from the pack—it's performing even better than the 6950.

By the way, I’ve got high expectations for Season 8 once it finally drops later this year. Honestly, it would be a massive letdown if it just felt like more of the same. Given how long we've been waiting, they really need to step it up and deliver something fresh.

I'm looking to sell this to a buddy—just wondering what kind of price I should expect for it.

I'd say somewhere around $2,300 would be a fair price.

Alright, thanks everyone....

2300-$833 🙂

In total, I ended up paying about $2000 😢

By the way—the motherboard is an AM2+/AM2—and while it might be getting a bit old, it’s actually a really solid board...

It’s got that built-in display, which is great because if anything goes wrong, it just tells me exactly what's happening right there on the screen and that's that.🙂

Thought I'd breathe some life back into this thread. I'm looking for a ballpark estimate on what a Sapphire NVIDIA GeForce GTX series Vapor X might go for lately. It’s the full bundle, and it's still got about a year and a half of warranty left through Lincoln... Cheers!

Look, for $3,500 you can basically grab a whole new rig that blows yours out of the water. 🙂

Well, I've still got about two months to go before I pull the trigger on a new rig...

I could probably sell my current setup for roughly $833, toss in another $1000, and then I’d have about $1833 to build a completely new PC from scratch...
