Why wouldn't you be selling RAM?

If you aren't planning on sticking to a laptop or some ancient desktop—you’re going to need...

What’s the actual motivation for a full PC swap? If the hardware is just struggling with specific tasks, an upgrade is usually the smarter move.

Why are you even looking to swap out the whole rig? If it’s just struggling with one specific task, an upgrade might be a better move.

I actually have the option to pick up a much more powerful machine built on the TR4 platform with 64 GB of RAM already pre-installed. I'm really not sure I want to mess around with adding another 32 GB of mismatched sticks later on—plus, there's a good chance I can sell my current setup as a complete unit, so this path just makes more sense for me right now.

What would you guys value this at?

The listing is under services, but this guy is looking for $500 and seems like he'll try to lowball me down to $1,300. Seems way overpriced to me.

Way too much, $333 at most. For that $500 you could probably build an entire rig with a Ryzen 5 200GE, 4GB of DDR4, and a 120GB SSD

Hey everyone,
I need some advice... I'm looking to sell my PC and I'm wondering what kind of asking price is reasonable here.

The full specs are in the link below. (Just a heads up—the mouse and keyboard aren't included in this price)...
The warranty is actually still valid through August of this year.

Wrong subforum. There's already a dedicated thread for that.

Just jumping in here—this guy already dumped his old gear for $500 because the hardware was shot...🙂😠

Is this actually worth the asking price, or am I just overthinking things? I was previously offered $167, but honestly, that felt a bit low. I realize we’re looking at a total dead end here—the RAM is already maxed out and you can't swap in any Xeon processors—but still...

Honestly, you should consider yourself lucky if you can snag that thing for $300. I recently tried offloading my own rig—which, frankly, is a much beefier setup even without the Seagate drive included—and I could barely squeeze $500 out of someone.

I'd say maybe around 700-$250. You might get a bit more if you sold everything off individually, I guess.

At that price point, it’s going to sit in the classifieds for a while. 😉 A really long time, if you ask me.

Sold it for $200 after all. I suppose that’s a fair result.

I’ve got this ancient rig lying around—an Athlon 64 3200+ running at 2.01GHz, with 2GB of RAM (and only one memory slot actually works, which sucks), and a GeForce 6600 GT. It's running Windows XP. Every time I reinstall everything, it runs fine for a little bit, but then it just crawls... especially when I'm trying to browse the web. I even tried switching over to Linux, but it’s the same story—everything just slows to a grinding halt. I mostly just use it for basic web surfing and Office stuff.

Question: Is there any way to actually upgrade this thing, or maybe get it back into decent working shape?

Thanks!

Depending on which motherboard you’re running, you might be able to squeeze in a dual core, but let’s be honest—that’s just a band-aid fix, not a long-term solution... Better to just start saving up for a brand-new PC.

I would appreciate an evaluation of my current PC setup. It’s still running faithfully, but it's just taking up unnecessary space, so I've decided to put it up for sale...

PROCESSOR: AMD A10-5800K, Socket: FM2, Clock speed: 3.8 GHz, Turbo speed: 4.2 GHz,
CPU COOLER: Lc Power LC-CC-95
GRAPHICS: (Integrated) AMD Radeon HD7660D
MOTHERBOARD: ASROCK FM2A85X Extreme 4,
MEMORY: KINGSTON HYPER-X 8GB (4 X 2GB) 1866Mhz DUAL CHANNEL,
HDD: WD 320GB + Seagate 250GB,
POWER SUPPLY: CORSAIR VX450W,
CASE: COOLER MASTER,
MONITOR: PHILIPS 200WS

Thanks, 🙂

Yeah, I'm definitely getting a newer PC.
