Honestly, going with Intel right now just doesn't make much sense for the money.
To be blunt, I still prefer Intel when it comes to graphics performance. I know a guy running an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 x, and frankly, I wasn't impressed. When I'm juggling Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity D/P, while simultaneously running a chat client, Chrome, PHPStorm, and uTorrent... it's rare that I feel even a hint of slowdown. And mind you, my rig is actually older than his (okay, maybe not by a huge margin, but it's older). What kind of jump in performance would I see if I moved up to an i7? Am I totally off base here?
