Hey there,
does anyone happen to know where I can pick up something like this?

It looks incredible.

Thanks... 🙄

That was one of the links you used to have.$90 As for the price,
I am not entirely sure if you are aware, but when the fan is running at full speed, it hits about 45 or 50 dB.

I didn't claim I had actually read the review, which noted that the performance was pretty lackluster.
The situation changes if you crank the fan up to max speed, but then it ends up being louder than a hair dryer.
With this cooler, you also get a potentiometer for the floppy drive and a PCI slot.

Your fan features an LED diode that pulses between blue and green.

Does anyone happen to know how to kill the LED lighting on a fan? It’s driving me crazy, especially at night; the brightness is just way too much and it keeps hitting me right in the eyes.

I originally grabbed this LED model because it was such a bargain and there weren't any standard 120mm non-LED options available at the time... but now, it's becoming a real nuisance.

Maybe try wrapping some electrical tape around it or just painting over it? A little light might still bleed through the plastic, but it won't be a huge deal. You could probably try cutting it, but honestly, I wouldn't risk it—who knows how it's wired? Don't want you messing up the whole fan.

I think I’ll just wrap some electrical tape around it—honestly, anything at this point just to stop that annoying glow 😁
Thanks so much for the advice 👍

It is quite amusing... if that light truly bothers you to such an extent, then simply braid the wires together. I fail to see why you wouldn't just handle it yourself, especially since you claim the illumination isn't even important to you in the first place! It is a simple enough fix, is it not?

It’s probably not worth the hassle.🙄

Now Dr. Jimmy comes to the rescue (even if I personally object to adding visual flair to hardware).

See that little white strip? (The part where it says PC)
If you take a hobby knife and trim that off, you're good. Once that's gone, you can actually pull the LEDs out.
Just be careful not to cut those three wires connected to the fan.

Raymond Hernandez14 said:Look, here is my suggestion—I actually have three of them in my rig right now, and I have to say, I am beyond satisfied with them...

I used to run some ThermalTake gear, and honestly, they were much noisier than these...😁

As far as Corsair goes, I haven't really had the chance to test their stuff yet...

What’s the noise level like, and how is the airflow??

Regarding the noise levels, the current readings are hovering around 11-13dB at roughly 800 RPM, assuming we are looking strictly at airflow. If one applies any semblance of logic, the performance should be relatively consistent across any standard 12cm fan; I find it hard to believe there would be a discrepancy greater than perhaps 15% when running at identical speeds. Of course, the specific geometry of the blade design will certainly play a role, but fundamentally, that is how the physics should shake out. 👍

Guys, what do you think of this? I know it’s nothing special, but at least I finally have a case that actually glows (the photo quality sucks since I just used my phone):

http://img183.imageshack.us/my.php?i...sc01393yz5.jpg-using an OCZ power supply (which totally fried on me)
http://img183.imageshack.us/my.php?i...sc01397vg7.jpg-now with a Fortron unit

The only thing driving me absolutely insane about this build is these massive cables!! Does anyone have any actual suggestions on how to hide them or where to tuck them away!??

I also need to pick up a new ATA cable for the DVD-romove because this one is way too bulky!!

Well, you can just route the cables toward the right side and/or behind the motherboard. To secure everything, try using plastic zip ties.

Flat ATA cables are actually easier to manage than the round ones! 😉

Maybe try something like this 😁😁

Thomas Gray, you’ve got fewer cables than I do

Check out this shot of the inside of a rig with 7 drives—looks like 5 PATA and 2 SATA from what I can tell. It’s not about how many cables you have, it's just that you don't know how to hide them yet ☕

Looking at Thomas Gray's pic, you can get a pretty good idea of how to tidy things up. I'd also suggest flipping the drives upside down so the connectors face the front. Tuck the extra slack in the corner, coil it neatly, and run those thinner cables behind the motherboard.

Thomas Gray, man, those are some nice cables! 🙏

I can't even begin to process this mess. Just look at that disaster.

Thomas Gray, those cables are top-tier! 🙏

Kudos to whoever pulled this off!👍👍
Thanks, I'll try twisting those cables around a bit and see what happens!

And another thing—I noticed both of your motherboards are missing that extra dedicated GPU power connector. Where the hell am I supposed to cram that plug in??

Haha, thanks for the kind words. Honestly... it doesn't really matter how much you fuss over cable management. It’s more about finding a little gap behind the motherboard tray in the case so you can actually peek in and see if the CPU is behaving or not. You just have to hunt around a bit to find those spots.

Finally managed to get these cables organized. It was a massive headache, but you can definitely see the progress!😁

Here’s the shot: http://img120.imageshack.us/my.php?i...sc01524sr7.jpg

If anyone’s got any other tips, lay them on me!
Thanks

Not bad! 👍

Maybe try routing that ATX12V—whatever it’s called—to the left of the cooler, tuck it under the motherboard all the way to the top right corner, and let it pop out up there. Grab a longer IDE cable and run it from the board right behind the drive cage, then straight up to the optical drive, staying behind those 3.5" and 5.25" bays. Also, just shove that SATA cable somewhere so it isn't staring you in the face above the front fan. The rest is just fine-tuning for the hardcore pros.
