@ Sean Clark2, you can't get anything done without daddy pulling the strings ☕

And honestly, I have that same kind of brownish sludge myself—I think my mom has about 30 containers of it. Ugh, just thinking about having to lug them all down to the basement every winter and then hauling them back out again... 🙂

This might sound like a silly question, but what exactly? 😁

I've already finished moving my components around and I haven't even touched any paint yet—honestly, I can't be bothered to head out and pick up some supplies.☕

How can I even put this...
You're going to regret it, Casey Gray3. 😬
It isn't that simple to paint an interior. It won't turn out looking good at all.

You're gonna mess it up, Casey. 😬
It's not that easy to just spray paint an interior. It won't look nearly as clean as you think it will.

Signature 👍
It would be a total waste to ruin that case with some garbage paint job, especially since it isn't some cheap off-brand chassis worth $67 that actually needs painting just to look halfway decent, IMO.

Man 😬, you've got a point there. It would be way too easy for things to end up looking like that. ☕

There’s a bit of room to maneuver, provided you apply the paint carefully. Otherwise, there's a high chance the color might bleed.

@Sean Clark2/">@@Sean Clark2 maybe they’ll process some more...😁 btw—since you're working on this stuff anyway, how much have you actually dropped on all those sprays? I could probably just buy an i7 build with that kind of cash😁

Heh, I wouldn't say I went absolutely overboard here

I spent about $53 on various spray cans, and now I’m planning to pick up some high-end coolers for another 80-$33. After that, my setup should be pretty much complete

You mean glowing rims?? If you go that route, you’re definitely gonna attract more attention

Good grief, another week has flown by and still no sign of those damn coolers. At this rate, I’m going to have to just order the hardware separately and shell out $20 for the ridiculous shipping costs 😢

They never seem to have anything in stock, and even when they do, the prices are absolutely extortionate (well, except for that one time with the 8800 GT)

Hey everyone, I have some massive plans involving PC modding. To be honest, standard modding doesn't really grab me; I’m actually thinking about building my own custom chassis from scratch.

The only thing I haven't figured out yet is how to panel the enclosure. I thought about using frosted white Plexiglass, but I’d prefer something a bit easier to work with (even if it means sacrificing a little structural integrity). Does anyone know of a material like that? Just a heads up—metal is definitely off the table.🙂

Since I'm planning on doing everything myself, I'm going to need a ton of tools and even more supplies. I'd really appreciate any help you can give. I just need names of as many shops as possible where I can pick up what I need: screws, aluminum blocks, precision cutters, hard rubber, soft rubber, perfboards with pre-drilled holes so I can solder LED diodes onto something, a soldering iron, and any other gear that might come in handy.

If anyone knows where I can find any of this stuff, I'd be super grateful (and please, stick to shops in the Washington, D.C. area. I don't find advice like "just go to any electronics store" very helpful).

Thanks in advance. 🙂

You can grab tools, screws, and profiles over at Home Depot—might even find some Lexan there instead of standard plexiglass. There’s also a solid selection of hardware at that construction shop near the downtown intersection. If you need plexiglass by the foot, hit up a local paint supply shop near the city center. Honestly, cutting plexi is a breeze with a sharp screwdriver (my go-to move for 3-4mm stuff) or just a hacksaw. I actually prefer doing it by hand so the plastic doesn't melt while I'm sawing through it. As for aluminum blocks? No clue, maybe check one of those scrap metal recycling centers? I think there's one near the highway. Rubber? Hard to say, maybe the paint shop has it too. Or maybe try a big industrial supplier like Grainger or something similar out in Cleveland.

For anything electronics-related, you can head to Micro Center (it's right by the Kroger, near where Heinzel meets Vukovar), or check out the Electronic Center on Tratinska, about halfway between the Lakers arena and the Badaliceva tram stop.

I honestly love the fact that even in this raw and brutal world, there are still people willing to step up and help someone in need.

Thank you so much. I have no idea how you stay so well-informed, but it doesn't even matter 🙂 because I haven't been able to find this much info or these specific locations anywhere else on the web, yet I found them all in a single post.

Thanks again, truly.

Also, if you happen to know, what’s the going rate for a 1mx1m sheet of plexiglass? 🙂

Why do I keep thinking it’s supposed to be a 3mm $25 square? 🤔 Honestly, I have no clue, it’s been forever since I did any PC Modding.

placidcanyon2, I guess you'd actually make a pretty great technical guide for tourists. 🙂 👍

Hey there, I’m pretty new to the world of PC Modding 🙂 but I’ve really fallen down the rabbit hole lately. I want to start by modding my own Ancient case (I actually have a spare one lying around if I mess this up, so no pressure, right?). Anyway, I’m hitting a bit of a wall because I honestly have zero clue where to even begin with the design... I just can't land on an idea. So, if anyone has any suggestions or inspiration, please hit me up :P Here are some shots of the side panel image

Man, you won't even be able to see through the window because the power supply is sitting right over the motherboard, blocking the whole view. I know because I've got a case with the exact same side panel.

Does anyone happen to know where I can pick up some Plexiglass in San Francisco and what kind of prices they're charging lately? I'm actually gearing up for a pretty big project, so once everything is finished, I'll definitely post some photos to show you all!👍

hh anyway, I’ve got both of these sticks sitting here and I honestly have no clue what my next move should be. I snapped this photo because it was just the first one I grabbed off the desk 🙂(The case is absolute garbage, by the way :P )
