One rainy evening, while I was standing at a bus stop waiting for the ride home, Leonard Cohen’s voice reached me for the very first time—singing "Famous Blue Raincoat"—and honestly, that was the exact moment I fell in love.

.....Ah, the last time we saw you you looked so much older
Your famous blue raincoat was torn at the shoulder
You'd been to the station to meet every train
And you came home without liti Marlen .....

And this particular line remains one of the absolute best ever written:
And what can I tell you my brother, my killer

I'm glad you stood in my way

Leonard Cohen has this brilliant piece—poetry, really, not just a song—about riding a night bus all by himself with a Black driver at the wheel. He basically thanks the system for spending all that money just to get him drunk and safely home, then ends by suggesting he swap seats with the driver, just so he can tell his folks back in the rural South that he finally made it and even has his own private chauffeur...

I always think of that whenever I find myself stumbling onto the first bus of the morning..

Cohen is a genius, but I'm sure you guys already knew that....

Easily one of the greatest out of dozens of geniuses...
Though, if I’d penned even one line from "Famous Blue Raincoat" or "I'm Your Man," I’d probably be making the same claim.

To me, it's just incredibly dull.

That little girl on Last Year's man always messes with my head in the best way. I meant to actually sit down and read some novels, but life happened. Instead, I just flip through the Selected Poems and Songs my good friends gave me ages ago 😍

He actually spent some time living in a Buddhist monastery, which is true, but he eventually transitioned back to a more worldly life—something you can really hear in his last two albums...

It might be a bit cliché, but the atmosphere Suzanne creates is just absolutely breathtaking to me.

Yes, Suzanne is absolutely wonderful. He has plenty of other great older material as well, though I wouldn't exactly call myself an expert on his full discography. To be honest, I wasn't particularly fond of the Ten New Songs album—it’s the only one I actually own—because it felt far too repetitive. It was just monotone, with every track following the exact same predictable pattern.

Leonard Cohen is an exceptional musician! 👍

He was my absolute high school obsession, but I’ve grown up a bit since then and finally figured out who I actually am in this world. His whole philosophy on human connection and expression just doesn't resonate with me anymore 😛 though, I have to admit, whenever he mentions a broken sandal strap, it remains my ultimate weakness 😳 a direct hit to my soul. That old, dusty legend 😁 I’d love to give him 😁 a piece of my mind 🙂 😍

Anyway, personally, I still find him incredibly attractive
