I think hollowseal33 and Gregory Walker15 hit the nail on the head...

And speaking of garbageโ€”like I said, itโ€™s better if you just hear some Indian chatter in an NYC taxi instead. ๐Ÿ˜•

Is rap just "contained within its own little ghettos"? Honestly, the world isn't even a stage anymore. Itโ€™s become one giant ghetto.

And thatโ€™s not considered a social issue?

I won't even get started on how much more aggressive rap is compared to country music. To me, the music just sounds worse, and honestly, both the artists and the crowds feel way more primitive.

Please, don't.

I really dislike it when people resort to grammar lessons just because they lack a real argument. Are we all just uneducated now? ๐Ÿ˜ข

Sandra King86 said:Good grief! Am I being too demanding here?
Or has resignation become the only virtue actually worth anything these days?

It isn't resignation at all,
quite simply, I just don't care; I have absolutely no desire to let things like Big Brother, celebrity gossip, or mindless tabloids dominate my conversations

And, yes, I believe you might have walked away withโ€”well, perhaps not "wrong," but certainly a somewhat superficial impression... your perspective seems to mirror exactly what the mainstream media pushes because thatโ€™s what sells to them
but in reality, that's just not how it works
and besides, even that perception is merely temporary because....

LostCase said:if you just banned country music by executive order, idiots would probably just start shooting at each other to some random beat... or have been doing it for years... what does any of that even have to do with the music?

I don't know. Country music is more like a symptom...
What can we actually do? I guess we could start by just talking...

hollowseal33 said:So rap is just "contained in its own little ghettos" and therefore isn't some big social issue?

I mean, if I start comparing rap to country musicโ€”how much more violent it is, how much worse the music sounds to me, and how primitive both the artists and the crowds can be...

Honestly, I have no clue why rap doesn't bother me... ๐Ÿ™‚

Look, itโ€™s the same logic. None of us care about what those weirdos are up to, so we aren't going to step in. The music isn't the issueโ€”it's just stupid people. Case closed.

What's with the "edit," though? Itโ€™s like you just stepped back into the ring even more fired up than before! ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐ŸŽ‰

By the way, is this actually the fastest growing thread in history or what?

I hate it when people resort to grammar police tactics just because they can't win an actual argument... like, fine, we're all uneducated, so what? ๐Ÿ˜ข

Look, I'm totally fine with admitting someone else won this one. Honestly...
Jason Chavez32 actually outplayed me with his logic. Especially that whole bit aboutโ€”well, you know...
Let's be real thoughโ€”his "eloquence" is still pretty much unbeatable.

Sandra King86, you sound like one of those folks who spent years living abroad and now comes back to lecture everyone elseโ€”who are still just doing their thingโ€”on how things should be done...

that Mike actually won this one with his arguments. Especially those "yes, no, and who cares" types.
If we're being objective, those specific viewpoints remain pretty unshakeable.

It is impossible to beat Spider๐Ÿ˜

But seriously everyone, let's skip the grammar lessons. Unless it's absolutely vital, ๐Ÿ˜‰

Pritt said the issue is just dealing with foolish people.

Anyway, you started the thread, so tell me: if you were here in the States right now, how would you handle this?

Since you seem surprised by our typical American indifference, I'm curious...

Itโ€™s no surprise, given how backwards we can be. Is it any wonder why Americans seem so perfect?๐Ÿคฎ

That's a pretty bad take. ๐Ÿ™‚
By that logicโ€”which isn't really logicโ€”I'm just some local with an inferiority complex, and you're the "big shot" expat looking down on us...
You're exaggerating.
Neither of us is an expat nor is anyone here "primitive," so I don't even get the point of your post...
It isn't true, it isn't accurate, and it definitely isn't teaching anyone anything.

Mike, did you catch that documentary? I can't recall the title right now... it was about those guys from the bowling alley. It had some pretty intense stats comparing gun violence and homicide rates here in the States versus over in Europe..

OH PLEASE, MAYBE TRY FIXING YOUR OWN BACKYARD BEFORE YOU COME OVER HERE TRYING TO LECTURE US..

I'll admit itโ€”I'm coming clean for the second time now. Heโ€™s basically a modern-day Cicero.
Even those old-school Roman debaters wouldn't be able to touch his logic...
