Come on. Youโ€™re the one who started this thread. Tell meโ€”if you were actually here in the States right now, what would your move be regarding this issue?

And how did you manage to overlook this part? ๐Ÿ˜

Based on how you put it, you sound like some small-town guy with an inferiority complex, and I'm just some big-shot transplant with an ego.
You're exaggerating.
Neither of us fits those labelsโ€”I'm not a big spender and you aren't some local nobodyโ€”so I don't really see the point of this post.
It isn't true, it isn't accurate, and itโ€™s definitely not teaching us anything.

I was just telling you how you come acrossโ€”I wasn't saying that was actually your intention.

Yeah, but the real issue is when you don't have an actual opinion. Then you're just stuck on the sidelines...
That's the hardest partโ€”once you figure that out, everything else is easy. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Well, I told you what kind of impression your post was making too, so I guess we've finally hashed that out. ๐Ÿ™‚ Time to move on to something else... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Sandra King86 said:Exactly. The real issue is when you lack conviction. Thatโ€™s how you end up stuck on the sidelines.
The hard part is finding your footing; everything else follows easily. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I certainly have my convictions. For instance, I can't stand country music. I won't listen to it at home, and I won't listen to it out in public.

However, I don't feel the need to police what other people listen to. As long as they aren't bothering me, they can enjoy themselves however they please.

By that same logic, I wouldn't want some heavy metal fans pestering me about Iron Maiden, either.

Why bother picking a fight with country fans? There are plenty of other bad genres and foolish people out there to worry about. โ˜•

Just waiting for things to cool down before I drop my super radical plan to finally kill off mainstream pop trash... involves some skincare too.
Stay tuned. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Yeah, right... I can just picture it now: walking out of a Taylor Swift concert and seeing three little punks acting like total maniacs...

GOD BLESS AMERICA! WE NEED THAT AMERICAN SPIRIT BACK!

Anyway... my phone rings once... and man, life has been such a mess lately...

punks are idiots ๐Ÿคฃ

But Iโ€™m not gonna police what anyone else listens to. If they want to enjoy that stuff, fineโ€”as long as they leave me alone.

I wouldn't want some metalheads cornering me about Iron Maiden, either.

I don't get why you feel the need to go to war with country fans... there's plenty of other bad music and plenty of other idiots out there. โ˜•

Honestly, I don't get where all this intense hatred for country comes from. Maybe some amateur psychologist will explain it to us soon... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

What really gets to me about the FBI is how people who love that garbage feel the need to act like missionaries for that kind of torture.
I've never had a metalhead taxi driver harass me like that. Or a classical music fan...
And I've certainly never been stuck in downtown Des Moines, sitting across from a cathedral over coffee, getting blasted by King Diamond or Slayer.

I mean, at this rate, I might as well just send those skins directly to the hip-hop heads or the metal fans instead, shouldn't I?
Wait, was I under the impression that you were actually complaining about a lack of civility and advocating for more politeness here? ๐Ÿค”

Wait, you started this thread and now you're acting surprised? Or was that sarcasm? I can't tellโ€”I'm pretty exhausted. ๐Ÿ˜

To be honest, that music doesn't really do anything for me. I don't exactly despise it, thoughโ€”itโ€™s just no different from any other genre I'm not into.
Sandra King86 said:What bothers me about TF is how fans of that kind of perversion feel the need to act like missionaries for such torture.
I haven't experienced being harassed by a heavy metal fan in a taxi like that. Nor have I dealt with any classical music enthusiasts acting that way.
I was just sitting downtown in Indianapolis, right across from the cathedral with my breakfast and coffee. Was I being blasted by King Diamond or Slayer?

Once again, I haven't met anyone with such a missionary drive.

Unlike those who tried to pull it off with reggae or jazz, isn't it? ๐Ÿคฎ

Why didn't you hear Slayer playing in the middle of the city square? It's because metal is a subculture. It isn't exactly mainstream music. This means there is a much lower chance of bumping into someone blasting it. On the other hand, country music is what everyone is listening to right now. Because it's so popular, the odds of hearing it everywhere are much higher.

Besides that, you don't see many alternative options in smaller towns. I think there was a column about this topic written by Ante Tomiฤ‡. ๐Ÿค”
