Well, there you have it. I'll take my chances in the spades division while they all crowd into the VIP lounge. 🙄

Look, I wasn't asking whether you prefer one card game over another, or how the doubles play out, or even what your personal feelings are about the deck itself ( 😍 ); I was simply asking how you actually approach the game when it’s just the two of you playing head-to-head.

Honestly, it’s been ages since I’ve found an online game this good, and let’s be real, it’s actually pretty frustratingly difficult too.

Though if you ask me, this version is actually superior:

Once you snag one of those single games from Shockplay, just give it a shot and see if you can actually pull off a high score. 🥳

If I absolutely have to choose, then make it a double.

The elite tier of card games:

1. Poker
2. Blackjack
3. Spades

4. Everything else. 😁

Finally found a decent online game. Pretty damn addicting too.

Are you kidding? It's great. You just click like an idiot at the paddle. Honestly, the only thing more boring than this is watching professional table tennis...

Ooh, I'll admit 👍that one's good.

The proportions are just... off. It’s like they completely ignored the golden ratio—it's driving me crazy! 😠

I saw tickets for the Kansas City Chiefs over at Offertissimi and didn't even think twice—just grabbed two stacks right then and there.😍

When did that happen, and is there an Offertissimi in the middle of downtown?

It’s actually the exact opposite of Three. The whole point is to rack up as few points as possible. Basically, whoever hits 51 first loses. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. There's a ton of strategy involved. You have to play the big cards when the pot is low, or dump specific colors so that once they're out of the deck, someone can drop a different ace and really stir the pot. Plus, all the calls go toward -3, so you can easily end up sitting with a negative score.

Anyway, a better question for the fight: how does the dealing go? Is it clockwise or counter-clockwise?😁

Look, you guys can keep trying to stump me until tomorrow if you want—really, be my guest—but honestly, there’s nothing quite like catching an Ace on the river. 🙏

Oh, and by the way, that clicking game doesn't even require a mouse click, silly! 🤣

Exactly! 🙂
That was about a year ago when Offerings had a location over by Savannah, but I actually have one right on my street, so I could take a look for you if you want.

When we play pairs, we usually stick to clockwise rotation.
I've always wondered, though, how you guys handle the card distribution in double games...
is it like: a) 2, 2, flip them, then 2, 2
or maybe: b) 4, 4, then flip?

if a cuts, then b

a chi fa meno means whoever does less😁

Back home, they do things the exact opposite way... I didn't even realize that until I was playing ball with some guys from Savannah and Charleston.

We’re going clockwise.

It’s all rigged anyway, so just tell me where I can grab tickets in NYC.😁

Listen, folks, let’s be honest—Briscola is a fundamentally flawed game. Now, I realize that for you people down in the South, it works perfectly fine... because you enjoy a certain rhythm—dealing a hand, pausing to whip up some lunch, glancing at the morning paper, maybe catching up with a cousin on the phone, and then just sliding back into the game like nothing happened. And depending on your mood, where you live, or just how much of a rebel you're feeling that day, you love to bend the rules to suit your own needs. It’s a way of life, I suppose. But for us folks from the Midwest... we prefer a bit more structure when we sit down for a game of cards. We actually like having rules! We like it when someone plays the wrong card and everyone immediately starts shouting—you know, the whole "get out of here" routine—and things get heated. We like it when someone holds all four aces alongside their high trump cards, sweeps the board, and then meticulously records it all on paper so there is absolutely no doubt that they snatched everything from the table while defending their own hand with surgical precision. Of course, you always have those reckless types who try to mess with these age-old traditions by imposing their own little whims upon us... but those people are dealt with very quickly. Rules are what make life work. Amen.

And what part of that isn't already standard practice in a typical American landfill or junkyard? 🤔

Look, Tresette is way better than Briscola. If you’ve got three people, Triumf is also an absolute blast. Briscola is only fun when you play in pairs. Playing it one-on-one is just boring and mindless; I'd take playing twenty rounds of Tresette without any betting over a single high-stakes Briscola game 😁 or four games of Tresette followed by one big double-down Briscola match for the hell of it.

And honestly, all that aggressive gambling energy exists in both Tresette and Briscola 😬—the whole family used to go absolutely wild 😁
