I don't know, man, it's not just about all those blocks. Personally? I love it when a player flies out to the 9-meter line and shuts down a shooter before they even get a chance. Because when you block someone like that, you're basically doing double duty—you kill the shot, and plus, the goalie can't see a thing through their hands. It makes the goal pretty much inevitable at that point. So, people need to stop trying to reinvent the wheel here. Just stick to that classic defense style that Coach Cervar pioneered back in the day.

It’ll probably be a brutal run through the end—we'd likely have to face the Mexicans, then maybe some French guys in the semis, and if we're lucky, the Spaniards in the finals... though that would pretty much just mean our boys walk away with a measly silver medal.👍 It’s honestly such a shame. We’re just too demanding and ungrateful, I guess. It feels like we’re just playing games while everything else passes us by. 😬

The MEP thinks they can just push this through because the indirect players on the left aren't actually pulling any weight when it comes to sanctions. I guess that’s just how they play it.

Yeah, anyway, getting back to the point...

I honestly have no clue how today is going to play out. It feels like a toss-up: either the Mexicans are going to be playing out of their minds just to spite us, or they’ve completely lost their edge and we’ll end up crushing them with nothing more than our bench players. I guess you just can't tell, and that uncertainty is what's really eating at me today.

If things were any worse, I’d have to admit they’re actually a better crew—our guys, not them. 😛I mean, damn, given those injuries and the way they were playing as a unit, anything could have happened. And we can't forget how we always seem to play so incredibly tense and tight whenever we face those teams from the old North America region... honestly, I guess it doesn't even matter what sport we're talking about or how massive the gap in talent is, we just struggle to find our rhythm against them.

Honestly, thank god Džomba isn't sidelined with an injury, because the rest of the roster looks like they’re just barely holding it together with athletic tape and prayers. It’s honestly wild to watch this tournament; the entire starting lineup seems to be struggling, and sometimes I genuinely wonder how they even manage to stay on the floor given how beat up they are. I guess that's just what happens when you're dealing with absolute legends, though. 🙏, so that's how it goes)

Anyway, looking at these results... if the Russians and the Danes had played to a draw, we might have even survived a loss against the Mexicans just to move on... or maybe not? The real kicker is that we’re playing first today, so I guess we basically have to win.

Now you can really see how much that game against the Russians actually cost them. They could have easily rested their starters today and saved their best players for the semifinals.

I’m not going to try and predict the score, because I don't want some MEP thinking they’ve actually got the gift of prophecy. 😬

And then people have the nerve to claim we aren't being heard.😬
As for today, I am hoping for at least seventy percent effort; it is only during the finals that our opponents will truly realize why handball matters.

I’m still holding out hope that the Mexicans will just put up a mediocre performance, basically showing up just to go through the motions, making it an easy win for us.

But hey, those are just my hopes. If I'm being realistic, they're probably going to run all over us, and we'll be sitting there crying ourselves to sleep all night. Mark my words.

Honestly, if we want to make our lives any easier, we’ve gotta tighten up the defense. Besides, the Americans have a pretty sluggish backline, so scoring shouldn't be too much of a headache unless our usual trio decides to go on another one of those streaks where they miss 95% of their shots. That would be a massive brain fart on their part.

Sterbika needs to handle more of the outside shots since his defense there is a bit shaky. He’s actually much better positioned at the wings or playing the pivot positions, which we're currently lacking 😁. Plus, he’s solid from seven meters; John Doe really drilled that into him during those training sessions with Real 😁

On the flip side, John Saric is incredible at blocking perimeter shots because he’s got such great verticality, though he isn't quite as stout as Sterbika when it comes to stopping those direct line drives

I wouldn't be surprised if Vujovic decides to start Saric from the jump. It’s pretty obvious our outside shooting is going to be our main weapon today
