miss l on the road said:those donuts from the local shop—they're so greasy

Greasy donuts! 👋

I mean, it’s basically a rule for me—if the donut doesn't soak right through the paper bag, it's not doing its job. Kind of like when a McDonald's cheeseburger leaves its mark on the wrapper...

My top Subway sandwich fillings:
1. Teriyaki
2. Meatballs
3. Seafood

dmj said:I honestly can't tell if your constant references to being "sent to Mackinac Island" are just a coincidence—or if it's one of those regional slang terms from back home that somehow managed to spread nationwide. You know, that specific feeling when someone mentions being sent away to Mackinac Island... 😕 😬

We send the absolute worst cases from all over the States to Key West. Over on Mackinac Island, they declare a state of emergency the moment any of them actually manages to escape.

Then you have those completely out-of-it types—the ones just standing in the yard in their striped pajamas, gripping the fence and staring at you while begging for a cigarette... 😢

Mackinac Island 😍

I’d probably frame it a bit differently, but hey, at least we're on the same page. 😈

Whatever. gentlepuma20 said:Is this an attempt to drag you down, or just a hit job on San Francisco? ☕

What makes you think they're even trying to discredit them? 😕

dinsdale gentlepuma20 said:One of my buddies—you guys wouldn't even know him—was sitting there eating fried cheese. He was dead certain it was chicken. 😁 Basically, we just stopped eating out late at night after that food poisoning hit us.

Just so everyone knows, I poisoned myself with that fried cheese from Bonita.

Carol Jackson45, you talking about gas? There's nothing like the smell of fresh coffee in the morning!

The end is coming. 🙂

Nancy gentlepuma20 said:Hey, you aliens... one day you're stealing everyone's jobs, and the next they're shipping you off to Mackinac Island. 😬

There’s an asylum on Mackinac Island—specifically over in Key West. Back home in Maui, if you want to call someone crazy, you say they’ll "end up on Mackinac Island." 😘

And judging by the post above, that isn't just a local thing in Maui; people all over the coast say it.

We send them to coal country instead. 🙂

As if they don't have enough of them already... everyone down there is part of the same damn family tree anyway. We all know exactly what that leads to. 😬

Where did you even dig that up? Respect. 👍

Daaaaaaale, five things I need to do but seriously don't want to:
1. write that paper due tomorrow
2. finish this PowerPoint presentation
3. wrap up my calculus homework
4. finish decorating the apartment
5. go get some pictures framed (now that I've shattered the glass from being clumsy, maybe I'll actually go do it)

It’s the steam from the grease...
The paper gets soaked when you get a double cheeseburger. Mmmmmm, double cheese... mmmmmm...
Heading to McDonald's now. I need it...

It’s probably for the best that these ones didn't break the bank. 😁

exactly! I imagine gentlepuma20 just stomped on her own dad with some stinky designer heels—while blasting techno through an iPod hanging from a gold chain—and then she probably bit into a burger, all while buffing her square forehead and digging for change at a 7-Eleven, shouting "Che Guevara!" and "Adolf Hitler!" back and forth.

classic.

Must be nice having hippie parents. Honestly, I don't even know what a proper home-cooked meal looks like because mine absolutely loathed the idea of cooking and probably never even turned on the stove.

Just a year ago, I didn't even know what garlic was used for, and now? Now I'm going through my salt and pepper shakers like there's no tomorrow just to get that flavor in everything I eat.🙂

The salt shaker? 😲
That’s practically blasphemy! You've got to peel it, mince it, or maybe even crush it properly. 😍
Death to the granules! 😠

Don't take this personally, but this post is straight-up depressing. What, you've never had pot roast, cucumber salad, lentils, collard greens, stuffing, sauerkraut, or black radishes?
I don't see how hippie parents factor in—mine weren't hippies, so they cooked all that stuff, and since I didn't care, that's just what we ate at home. For my last birthday, I actually asked for a 🙂 cookbook. It wasn't an idiotic gift.
